Rating faces is the hardest part of writing reviews for me. I always try to be diplomatic by avoiding the 1-10 scale, as I'm aware that the SP might read the review. The last thing I want to do is make a woman who might have a self-esteem problem even more insecure by giving her a numeric rating, especially if I otherwise enjoyed my encounter with her. A fair number of SPs, by their very own admissions, do have self-esteem problems because of real or imagined (more often imagined) imperfections (just consider all the unnecessary boob jobs). I think it's kinder to simply say that someone is average-looking than to say that she's a "5". I fortunately haven’t had anyone under what I’d consider to be a “6” (what I’d euphemistically call “attractive”). If I were to ever encounter an unattractive SP, I’d probably hand her a $20 and tell her that I’m ill (with a turned stomach and a case of the willies) before privately telling the agency that she isn't suitable for sex work and asking for a replacement. If she'd have to pay me to do her, she shouldn't be an escort.
Facial ratings by fellow hobbyists really don't factor much into my decision on whether or not to see a particular SP - unless, of course, a number of reviewers are in agreement that the SP is unattractive. Everyone has different tastes, so a 1-10 rating really doesn’t tell me much unless I know what the rater’s benchmarks for beauty are. My friend and I always evaluate the women who we come into contact with at work on the numeric scale like we’re some sort of Olympic rating panel, and our ratings are consistently 1.5 points apart on average. Sometimes I’m the high rater, and sometimes he is. When I showed him a photo of a SP who I saw last week who I consider to be mesmerizingly beautiful, he only gave her an “8”. Just goes to show how much tastes can differ. And that’s actually a good thing because I want as little competition as possible!
Chances are that if a SP works for one of the better agencies, she's probably going to look good enough to get me hard. So, what I try to do is mentally unblur her picture to imagine what she must look like. Finding-out whether I was even close to being correct when I answer the light tap on the door is part of the adventure.
Since I attribute certain looks to certain ethnicities, it would be helpful if agencies more consistently mentioned SPs’ actual (rather than invented) ethnic backgrounds in their descriptions. This way, I’d have a greater success rate at accurately guessing what the SPs are going to look like. It also wouldn’t hurt if agencies actually made an effort to describe the standout facial features of their girls in words, if they are going to post blurred-out photos. For instance, does the girl have a round face or a long and narrow one? Does she have full lips (not talking labia here)? Does she have high cheek bones (not talking ass)? Is her complexion fair, medium, or dark? Has her hairstyle, length, or color changed since her last photo-shoot?
