In 1994, the U. S., U.K., Russia, and Ukraine signed the Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances. This stated that in return for Ukraine giving up its nuclear weapons the signees would give security assurances against threats or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of Ukraine.
Russia has obviously violated this. But what about the U.S and the U.K.? Shouldn't they follow through on their assurance of protecting the political independence of Ukraine? Have they done enough?

Today's U.S. reponse is that this is not an official treaty, so it is not legally binding. It doesn't lay out any specific measures to insure that security. I doubt Ukraine feels that way. They got screwed by the U.S and U.K. And why would any other country agree to give up its nuclear weapons(like North Korea), knowing that the U.S. promises are worthless. Iran nuclear deal? Iran could sign any document and not keep their promises because the U.S. doesn't keep theirs.

The world is rushing to corner Putin, but the “red button” is still within his reach. It may not end up well for the world. The hope is that some brave Russians will find a way to assassinate the bastard.
This is a war by one bastard and his inner circle against his fellow Slavs because their democratic government poses a threat for him personally.
Nostradamus predicted a war in Europe in 2022 and the death of a dictator....hopefully that dictator is putin.

Russia's nuclear forces have been put on high alert to a "special mode of combat duty" by President Vladimir Putin.

It's unbelievably cruel that so many people have to suffer this fear all because of one individual.
I am so sad :(

Just in...the Russians unleashed a massive explosion on Kharkiv

Experts say it was a thermobaric bomb..but goddamn that explosion looked nuclear! Jesus...

Vacuum bombs , which Putin has used in Ukraine , leave a mushroom cloud like nuclear bombs.
In a conversation with Trump , Putin confided that he would use nuclear bombs if cornered, but in the meantime he bragged about his vacuum bombs and hypersonic missiles that the US doesn`t have. Trump responded with a "me too I want them" ..... and Putin`s answer to that was that it`s gonna be too late.

Cant find any credible source for Putin confiding in Trump. As for Thermobaric weapons USA has them since Vietnam. USA has MOAB used in Afghanistan 2017. Penis self-conscious Putin then goes to make a similar but larger bomb nicknamed FOAB. fu_king sad, people dying for dying men's egoes.

An interesting side note to this conflict is the many side stories you see in this.

For example, several people from different countries have volunteered to go to Ukraine to fight, including this guy from Canada, who's currently on the frontlines.

Check his twitter timeline, there's several updates on the frontlines as we speak

Yes, but what's going to happen when the Russians capture him? Will this guy saying he is Canadian prevent him from being shot? Hasn't Putin given orders to be harsh on foreign interlopers?

According to Fiona Hill from the Helsinki meeting on July 16th 2018.
BTW I was not talking about Thermobaric bombs but vacuum bombs that Russia used on Ukraine yesterday even though they are banned by the Geneva convention. They also used cluster bombs on civilians. Russia will surly be charged with war crimes against humanity by the international court.

Thermobaric charges are not banned by any international agreements. It is just a colloquial name for metalized explosive charges that use dispersed metal combustion with air for the blast enhancement. “Vacuum” bombs is an oxymoron, they do not exist. FAEs (fuel-air explosives) sometime are wrongly named as “vacuum bombs” because they also use air oxygen for combustion to enhance blast. They do not create vacuum though but overpressure.

ANITA ANAND.....you know who she is?????..did not until now.... our MINISTER of National Defense....honestly i never rememberd the name de ses prédécesseurs...BUT her yes i will. ;) She is on the spot every day...credible--solid woman...she studied
at OXFORD et détient une maîtrise en droit de l'Université de Toronto.....toute menue/délicate et quand même la # 1 de nos Forces Armées.....quite an accomplishment and challenge....until now she is impressive....at least i am.;)
Today she said it was a personal choice for Canadians who want to go fighting in Ukraine...BUT ne le recommandait pas....car c'est une décision qui peut avoir de sérieuses conséquences.....et on peut comprendre.
