Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed a new general, Alexander Dvornikov, to direct the war in Ukraine, according to a US official and a European official.

Russian troops are making major changes in preparation for what appears to be a massive attack on Kharkiv and on the territories of Donbass, which are still held by Ukraine.
The person in charge of the war against Ukraine would now be General Alexander Dvornikov.

Condolences to the mothers, fathers and children who lost their loved ones, this is heartbreaking for the people of Ukraine.
What a difference. Remember the Soviet era drab green oversized uniforms dripping with dozens of medals the Generals used to wear?
Compare that to Dvornikov`s stylish well fitting Nazi SS style blue uniform.

This guy is called the butcher of Syria . Since there already is a butcher of Ukraine by the name of putin , what else can this thug be called ?

The airport in the city of Dnipro, in eastern Ukraine, suffered “massive destruction” after two Russian bombings overnight.

Dnipro, an industrial city of one million inhabitants watered by the eponymous river which separates the East, partly pro-Russian from Ukraine, and the rest of its territory has been relatively spared by the progression of the Russian army.

On Saturday, Dnipro was targeted by bombardments.

According to Ukrainian sources, after the withdrawal of Russian troops, more and more mass graves are being discovered around Kyiv. According to prosecutors, more than 1,200 bodies have already been recovered. In 5,600 cases, suspected war crimes are being investigated.

According to Ukrainian sources, more than 1,200 people have been found dead in the region around the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. In an interview with the British broadcaster Sky News, prosecutor Iryna Venediktova called the number of 1,222 dead “in the Kyiv region alone”.

The Russian army withdrew from the region around Kyiv about a week ago and is currently repositioning itself in eastern Ukraine. Since the withdrawal of Russian troops, mass graves have been discovered in more and more places in recent days.

What a bunch of showboating..
You may think so , but the people of Ukraine are encouraged and motivated by the show of support from the leader of one of the worlds great powers.
Would be nice if others had the balls to do the same.

Russians are turning on Putin and burned an effigy of him.

As Russia continues to wage war, some Russians are fleeing to neighboring Georgia and expressing support for Ukraine.

That the Ukrainians put dead bodies all over the place to pretend that the Russians are sadists?

Right, because in the middle of cleaning up the bodies and exposing the war crimes they *NEED* the British Savior to come over and pretend like he hasn't received all sorts of oligarch money historically so they can stop the real work to provide him with a security detail for his chicken pot photo op. A video call would have sufficied this was for BJ's political gain only.

I imagine Zelensky must have had to bite his tounge quite hard and keep the slap hand at bay with extrodinary willpower.

Ukraine keeps capturing more tanks from Russia.

These Ukrainians are amazing.

I just love the videos of Ukrainian farmers with their tractors towing their stolen Russian tanks. It must be driving Putin even crazier than he is to realize that Ukraine will be only country in history to have the enemy provide them with so much military aid.

I cheer every single success Ukraine has, big or small.

After the Ukrainian and Russian delegations met in Istanbul, the Moscow administration announced that it would reduce the number of troops near Kiev as a sign of good faith and reduced the dose of attacks.
The war, which has been going on for about 50 days, has shifted eyes to the east of Ukraine.

But after it became clear that Russia, which withdrew from the region, was targeting civilians in many towns and cities, especially Bucha, Russian troops were seen advancing into eastern Ukraine.
Experts said that Russia was targeting the east of Ukraine, while Ukrainian President Zelenskiy announced that he was preparing for attacks.

Noting that the coming weeks will be very important and tense for the course of the war, Zelenskiy said: “Russia will be even more afraid. They'll be afraid of losing. They will be afraid to realize the truth,” he said.

Zelenskiy said: "Russian soldiers will prepare much larger operations in the east of our country. They can use missiles against us or even drop bombs from the air. But we are prepared for their moves. We will respond,” he said.

Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer said he had a “direct” and “tough” conversation with Vladimir Putin on Monday as he became the first Western leader to meet with the Russian president since Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.

Are you on Telegram? Subscribe to our channel for the latest updates on Russia's war in Ukraine.

Following their 75-minute meeting in Moscow, Nehammer said that he had pressed for an immediate cease-fire and humanitarian corridors.

“This is not a friendly visit,” he said in a statement. “I have just come from Ukraine and have seen with my own eyes the immeasurable suffering caused by the Russian war of aggression.”

The Austrian chancellor has conceded that the decision to visit Moscow was contentious, but said he felt a duty to leave “no stone unturned” to stop hostilities and meet humanitarian needs.
There was no joint news conference after the meeting, because of concerns in Vienna that it could be used for Russian propaganda purposes.

Will this be like when Abe Lincoln appointed Ulysses S. Grant To Oversee Union Forces in the American Civil War?

It's pretty clear what the endgame is now. Russia is going to seize and annex the 2 breakaway republics and once firmly in control of both, will enter peace talks. The new settlement will be the rest of Ukraine is allowed to remain sovereign, as an erstwhile "West Ukraine." "East Ukraine" will become a Soviet Republic. Think West Germany and East Germany- just like I was telling you guys to do around 38 pages ago in this thread. That is what it's going to be, going forward. 2 Ukraines.

An interesting account from a US military leader. There's a fundamental difference in military practices between Russian and NATO countries - Russians have a top down command structure, which subordinates are not allowed to take initiative. This is of course fatal in modern combat, which is fluid and unpredictable. Once the officer in charge is eliminated, the rest of the unit is paralyzed since there are no NCOs to assume control. NATO countries, on the other hand, value initiative, higher education and independent thinking, which is reflected in NATO military organization.

In Russia, the military leadership is also viewed very suspiciously by political leadership, and competent non-bootlickers are purged periodically (since they're potential threats)...resulting in a perverse situation where the corrupt & incompetent (but compliant) rise to the top.

Ukraine investigated a claim that a poisonous substance was dropped on besieged Mariupol, as Western officials warned Tuesday that any use of chemical weapons by Russia would be a serious escalation of the already devastating war.

Thwarted in his apparent ambition to overrun the Ukrainian capital, Russian President Vladimir Putin is now building up forces for a new offensive in the eastern Donbas region, and insisted Tuesday that his campaign would achieve its goals.
He said Russia "had no other choice" but to launch what he calls a "special military operation," saying it was to protect civilians in the predominantly Russian-speaking Donbas.

Yep, back to Inquisition. Sometimes you must kill a person to save his “soul”. Thus, they bomb cities with predominantly Russian population. They will be genuinely surprised when the same “liberation” will hit their homeland, but nothing clears brains from propaganda better.

Ukraine had its own "special military operation", which managed to capture one of Putin's cronies/boot-lickers:

For anyone interested in a detailed military analysis of the war, check this video out.

It really gives you an idea of what's going on the frontlines.
