It's pretty clear what the endgame is now. Russia is going to seize and annex the 2 breakaway republics and once firmly in control of both, will enter peace talks. The new settlement will be the rest of Ukraine is allowed to remain sovereign, as an erstwhile "West Ukraine." "East Ukraine" will become a Soviet Republic. Think West Germany and East Germany- just like I was telling you guys to do around 38 pages ago in this thread. That is what it's going to be, going forward. 2 Ukraines.

An interesting account from a US military leader. There's a fundamental difference in military practices between Russian and NATO countries - Russians have a top down command structure, which subordinates are not allowed to take initiative. This is of course fatal in modern combat, which is fluid and unpredictable. Once the officer in charge is eliminated, the rest of the unit is paralyzed since there are no NCOs to assume control. NATO countries, on the other hand, value initiative, higher education and independent thinking, which is reflected in NATO military organization.

In Russia, the military leadership is also viewed very suspiciously by political leadership, and competent non-bootlickers are purged periodically (since they're potential threats)...resulting in a perverse situation where the corrupt & incompetent (but compliant) rise to the top.

Ukraine investigated a claim that a poisonous substance was dropped on besieged Mariupol, as Western officials warned Tuesday that any use of chemical weapons by Russia would be a serious escalation of the already devastating war.

Thwarted in his apparent ambition to overrun the Ukrainian capital, Russian President Vladimir Putin is now building up forces for a new offensive in the eastern Donbas region, and insisted Tuesday that his campaign would achieve its goals.
He said Russia "had no other choice" but to launch what he calls a "special military operation," saying it was to protect civilians in the predominantly Russian-speaking Donbas.

Yep, back to Inquisition. Sometimes you must kill a person to save his “soul”. Thus, they bomb cities with predominantly Russian population. They will be genuinely surprised when the same “liberation” will hit their homeland, but nothing clears brains from propaganda better.

Ukraine had its own "special military operation", which managed to capture one of Putin's cronies/boot-lickers:

For anyone interested in a detailed military analysis of the war, check this video out.

It really gives you an idea of what's going on the frontlines.

Zelensky offers to swap pro-Putin tycoon for captured Ukrainians.

If you dance with the devil, don't be puzzled if he drags you into hell.

I bet putin will just say no anyways! and then that oligarch will realise how much danger the rest of his family are in.

Russia has withdrawn its troops from the area around Kyiv, pulling them back across the border to Belarus.
But they've left dangerous mines behind, which present an ongoing threat to civilians.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his nightly address that the Russian military had left tens of thousands — if not hundreds of thousands — of explosive ordinance behind as they retreated.

Zelensky said the Russian military has left mines in homes, on streets, in fields, around cars and in doorways.
He added that he thought this should be considered a war crime because these mines are designed to injure or kill civilians.

Several European leaders have gone to visit Kyiv in person, to meet with President Zelensky.

I commend these leaders to have the balls to come to a warzone but my only question is, where's Justin Trudeau in all this?

Trudeau talks the talk about supporting Ukraine but I doubt he will ever visit Zelensky in Ukraine.

Hell, even Boris Johnson went to Ukraine!

The selfie king decided perhaps he will do things with Zoom from the bunker where he was hiding from the truck horns and gasoline fumes.
He decided missiles and gunfire are not the greatest sound effects for a photoshoot or video.
Perhaps he has Covid again.

If you want to see Trudeau get uncomfortable, check out his interview on CNN.

CNN's Jake Tapper pressed the question to Trudeau on how many Ukrainian refugees Canada has accepted and Trudeau seemed to struggle to answer the question lol

why not welcome for germany guy?

Bild quoted an unnamed Ukrainian diplomat as saying: “We all know of Steinmeier’s close relations with Russia here … He is not welcome in Kyiv at the moment. We will see whether that changes.”

The office of the President in Germany is mostly ceremonial though - like our Governor General.

Putin coup fears explode as the Russian leader ‘purges’ closest ally Vladislav Surkov who ‘made him President’ and ‘invented Putinism’ in war on "traitors".

So much fun to witness Putin sawing the branch on which he is sitting.

Can’t put Trudeau in the same boat as those guys,,,only reason they went there to show their support is because they know they might be next on Poutines menu and are trying to formulate some sort of plan
