I know. Very true. Blame the right-wing media for this prehistoric way of thinking. Personally speaking, i pay taxes expecting that my government(s) will take care of me and my fellow Canadians. Half of my American cousins think the opposite. They do not realize that the 'government' is us....the people. Sad.
What's even worse is that the entire wealth of the country is owned by its top 1%. The billionaires and the mega-zillionaires. This is unbelieavable!!! Think about this! And worse is that the laws are tilted in their favor and it keeps getting worse. The ONLY reason for the recent healthcare bill is to finance the massive tax cut that Trump and the Republican Congress want to give to the country's wealthiest people and dynasties. This is sacriligious!!! The Waltons, the Rockefellers, the Koch brothers and Sheldon Adelson DO NOT need another tax break!!!!
What's even more sad is that the middle-class is dying because the rich keep taking from the middle class and the poor in order to give to the rich. It's Robin Hood in reverse!!!!
This is exactly what happened throughout our history which led to the destruction of seemingly stable countries. This is what led to the French Revolution. This is what led to the Russian Revolution. This is the present situation in Saudi Arabia where the Saudi royal family owns most of the country's wealth while the large majority of its citizens are poor. And people wonder why they hate the United States?? Guess what? The United States is the main reason why this has been going on for at least half of the past century and today. The United States has served as the Saudi royal family's bodyguards while they keep on embezzeling their people!! That's the main reason why they hate Americans in that part of the world since they blame them for protecting the people who have been robbing them blind for nearly 70 years!!!
