For the record he is 3-9 vs. Murray, 2-7 vs. Nadal, 0-8 vs. Joker and 3-11 vs. Federer. That is a combined 8 wins and 35 losses. What that tells me is Raonic is the whipping bitch of the top players. He is also an unimpressive 27-59 against top 10 players for his career.

Federer explains his stunning fourth-round loss: 'Everything was off' https://es.pn/2Pubk5u

Went to bed late because of this game and I was watching Sharapova being shown the exit door prior to this game. I was stunned by all the unforced errors he made, crazy stuff. The heat explains it though. It says it all when he mentioned he was glad the game was over. A true warrior and great tennis man has his limits, and opponents will capitalize on this information moving forward.

Federer is 37 years old now and that is very very old to even still be a top 5 player. The weather yesterday was brutal and it didn’t cool off much at night. As I mentioned 76 unforced errors is the highest total I have ever heard of. It’s amazing he was even in some of those sets making that many errors.

WOW WOW WOW....not only the match of the tournament BUT the match of the year.....NADAL--THIEM ....they played almost 5 hres and NADAL won in the 5th set 7-6......what an epic match.....ils ont tout donné et ont tout laissé sur le terrain....2 real sluggers......kudos to both players.....i like Thiem a lot....

BUT the MASTER is still the MASTER......:yo::yo::yo:

Women.......incredible....the top 10 seeded are gone BUT we all know SERENA is still the real number 1.....yesterday again she won easily on Pliskova-----former number one and one of the best females on the circuit-----in two sets. Serena will play Sevastova in demifinal....should not be a problem.

OSAKA and KEYS are on today,,,we should see them in the other semifinal.........enjoy.

Osaka is looking like a serious threat to win the tournament and if I were Serena I would be concerned about her. Would still favor Serena but Osaka is a serious threat to win this tournament who is not to be underestimated.

I am going to go out on a limb and predict an Osaka vs Williams women's final. Although the Osaka v. Keys semifinal looks like a tough match as Keys has made the semis of 3 of the last 5 majors. However I feel Osaka is on a meteoric rise and her time is coming. She is only 20, but she has looked extremely dominant at times in the last few matches, winning 6-0, 6-0 in a double bagel 3rd round win and then 6-1, 6-1 in the quarters, against solid players. Keys has played well, however, she has not played all that well in her semifinal and final matches when the level of play goes up a few notches. I really think Osaka is going to be a tough out in this tournament.

Yes very good day for Japan indeed.

Yes KEYS and DJOKO did it. For me the highlight of MILLMAN--DJOKO was at 2-2 second set and suddenly MILLMAN asks the umpire to leave to put on new clothes...the ref told him DJOKO has to agree.....at this same moment DJOKO was exhausted ---same manner was Federer the night before-----and MILLMAN was all

over him......SO DJOKO with a big smile said yes......and he took those 6 min to rest and reset..a eu le temps de bien récupérer.....and when they replayed it was all DJOKO.

So now serious business.....semifinals.

Tonight SERENA---SEVASTOVA.....guess who will win?.....and later OSAKA--KEYS....tough call....yes OSAKA was really dominant in her matches BUT i will go with KEYS....should be interesting to watch.

Tomorrow..wow...2 great matches.......NADAL--DEL POTRO and NISHIKORI--DJOKO......am going with NADAL all the way......enjoy.

The possible Joker-Nadal final is interesting. Joker leads this rivalry 27-25. However Nadal has beaten Joker in the US Open finals twice, in 2010 and 2013. I also find Nadal to be the best player on tour in grinding out difficult matches. He is in my mind tougher than Joker despite Joker slightly leading the rivalry.

More on this fascinating rivalry here:

Osaka has smoked Keys in straight sets. The Williams-Osaka final represents the future champion vs. the present champion. Old Guard vs. New Guard. Should be a good one.

OSAKA.....what a nice phenomenon...yes she was still dominant yesterday and at only 20 so calm and in control of her game. When asked if she has a message for Serena....she answered......I LOVE YOU......wow.....nice and cute.

Nadal’s knees have been perpetually injured the last 11 years. It’s probably mostly bad genetics and has held him back from equaling or surpassing Federer. Nobody is more of a gamer than Nadal and if he retired it’s because he was either in extreme pain or was rendered nonfunctional on court. Sad but those knees of his have been a chronic issue.

DJOKO won easily in 3 sets....he is playing very good tennis.

DJOKO--DEL POTRO.....FIRST GRAND SLAM CHAMPIONSHIP.......They played 18 times and DJOKO is 14-4.....should win tomorrow BUT :yo::yo::yo: to Juan Martin who struggled with injuries and surgeries in the last years....great to see him back that way.

Emotional moment today for SASCHA BAJIN new OSAKA'S coach in 2018.....SASCHA was the hitting partner for SERENA 8 years while she won 10 Grand Slam with him.....and they even lived together 3 years....was part of the family......so we can easily understand what he will going through this afternoon.....

OSAKA should perform well.....enjoy.

Just incredible and so so sad ending....i feel really bad for Osaka to win in such controversial game........Serena received 3 violations code for one game penalty...so it was Osaka 5-3...she won 6-3.......she really deserves her first title BUT she was not feeling at all like a Champ....thanks to Serena who asked the crowd

to salute Naomi's win....was very courageous and nice to do so ........So OSAKA becomes the first Japonese male -female to win a Grand Slam .....:yo::yo::yo: Again she played perfectly ..moving very well and playing the angles perfectly.....a star is born.....US OPEN CHAMPION for ever..and we will see more of her.
