Il y a un peu de nous en tant que Canadiens dans Emma Raducanu, car elle est née à Toronto.
Emma is Canadian by birth. She can move to any country and play for any country she chooses.....hell even have a British accent , but maple syrup runs in her veins. The teen who doesn`t lose their cool or focus will win the championship. They both have the skill and the rest is mental.

Well...DANIIL just too good--perfect for FÉLIX in 3 sets....so nice ride for the kid though ...to b in semifinal at the US OPEN it's quite an exceptional accomplishment in a life time ;) ...who knows if he will do it again???? so enjoy the moment jeune homme.:)
Felix is just 21 years old.
Let's hope he will mature well.

Hoping it will be an exciting final ...never would I have predicted them getting here so soon in their tennis careers ... but watching them play made sense... they are both technically solid and mentally tough & fearless... they played without pressure unlike the higher up seeds they faced , and most importantly they’re not ( error prone ) and won’t beat themselves like other players... who wins ? ... Raducanu IMO is the more naturally talented youngster but one needs to consider where they are playing at ...so it might come down to the NY crowd again which at times influences and decides matches on its own ... maybe that’s what helps Leylah .... Good Luck to both players

I agree with you and this became apparent during the match. Fernandez hit a very low first serve % and Radacanu preyed on her backhand. Radacanu is a bit stronger and moves well for her size. Fernandez was scrappy but looked like she was really scrambling to win points.

First qualifier in tennis history to make it to the finals. First qualifier in tennis history to win finals. First qualifier in tennis history to win the finals without dropping a set. Really not much more to say. The medical timeout was weird but with a bleeding wound you have to have a TO.

Emma will be appearing in the October issue of British Vogue. I saw a preview and breathtaking barely describes her looks. She can make it as a high end model. Also as a Sports Illustrated cover girl.
Move over GB

a good entertaining final ... too bad Leylah couldn’t prolong the match and take it to a third , it seems nobody was able to even take a set from her let alone beat her , crazy accomplishment for a qualifier in this era ... what the new Gen from the men’s side have been desperately trying to accomplish the New new Gen from the women’s side achieved it in only one tournament,,, they have a swag about them and look much bolder and ruthless than a lot of more older experienced players on the tour ... well done

British Vogue? That’s Good stuff ... if she’s got the game and the LOOKS she will surely get a lot of propositions and sponsors coming her way ... she’s intelligent and seems to be a VERSATILE individual ... any other intel about her ? ... has Valerie Plante had the opportunity to comment yet and share some more penis/tennis intel about this particular players passions etc ? ...

et a semblé manqué d"énergie....and RADU had a phenomenal --unique journey...yes again a qualifier with 10 straight victoires WITHOUT DROPPING A SET ....that's incredible...chose certaine leur vie ne sera plus jamais la même... A STAR IS BORN ...and why not two...

Imagine what`s ahead for these two teenagers. Endorsements, TV talk shows, magazine covers, Athletes of the Year in their respective countries.
Possibility of being ranked in top10 and multi-millionaires before the age of 20. They have to stay healthy in mind and body and be able to take the pressure of being celebrities....unlike Bouchard.

I agree with you on the tougher players that Fernandez had to play against. Number 2 , 3 and 5 in the world.

Meanwhile Medvedev can't keep losing to Djokovic in finals and be considered talented. He is either talented or "not good enough." He has a great chance tomorrow to win a grand slam over a 34 year old coming off a 5 set match.
He came close here against Nadal but really disappointed in his second GS down under ... so after twice failing will he be third time lucky ?? ... for me it’s a toss up and one has to really like his chances of stopping him ... calendar slam or not the Serb will go down in history with the most records in men’s tennis...

Grand Slam foiler!!!!!! History maker! Congrats on your 1st major win Daniel! Younger legs prevailed today. Although he did look VERY tight at the end of this match.

US OPEN MEN'S FINAL:
Wow what a dominant performance by Medvedev beating Djokovic at his own game!...winning in 3 straight sets!
I picked Djokovic to win the US Open and become the first player since Aussie Rod Laver did it in 1969 to win all four grand slam events in the same year.
However, it wasn't to be for the Djoker...tough loss for the Djoker to swallow!

US OPEN WOMEN'S FINAL:
Raducanu also dominated Fernandez in 2 straight sets. It was an easy pick for me. And it wasn't really a surprise because Raducanu has a much more solid tennis game compared to Fernandez.
One note, Fernandez sounded like a real teenager balling her eyes as she:
1) complained to the chair ref about the injury time-out take by Raducanu late in the second set, and
2) ridiculously sucking up for crowd approval by mentioning 5000 times the NY crowd in her post match speech!!!...all this compared to Raducanu who showed incredible poise and professionalism during her trophy acceptance speech!

Hey my friend give Fernandez some slack, she is after all a teenager. Few teens can meet her grace and resolve under pressure.
She beat 3 of the 5 top seeds, in some cases coming from behind. She had reason to contest the medical time out since it is unusual. As far as thanking the NY crowd that was in appreciation of how much they showered her with love. Her 9/11 speech was classy and mature.. Fernandez did great and Raducanu did better.
Raducanu will become the first British under 30 sports star billionaire.
What`s more she can stay at Club Med for free.....lol
