I saw that last night on TV news. I could not believe that it happened here, but we have to face the truth.

Those kind of events scare the shit out of me. I remember crying a bunch when I was scared for my friends from France. And I also remember crying a bunch when two bombs exploded less than 1km from my friends house in Egypt.

And now I want to cry a bunch because it's happening here. I can't take violent bullshit. Makes me so sad and so scared and helpless.

Everytime I go out there's at least one minute everyday when I'm like "What if someone shoots me right there, on that corner ?"...

Violence has no race. Actually it does - they're called idiots.

Gaby I personally do not think there is a relation to the isolationism policy of trump. It's what gun can do given to stupid lazy cowards.

That said, Trump is a very good opportunity for the real terrorist to recruits. It brings the level of hates against the US to a new level, exactly what they want... So yes we will see more and more acts of violence I am afraid.

It is very sad, horrible, no words to describe the shock. Never thought it will happen so close to us. Canadians are very peaceful people and all are living like a family, irrespective of religion and race. Terrorists have no religion, no race, not even humain beings.
Very sad day for all of us.

Je faisais cette remarque dû au fait que ce Muslim's ban par Trump a fait la manchette à travers la planète......et curieux que ce malheureux évènement arrive quelques jours plus tard......cela a pu donner des idées sordides à des idiots.

Look behind you.
I do not think we can blame Trump on this one, just my opinion but if it was a retaliation on the Trump immigrating banning it would have been in the US and against non-Mulsims. Better chance of it being against our own politicians for opening our doors to the ones Trump shut out.

Actually what Gaby thinks is that it is not a retaliation against Trump policy but more an act to support it.

.is there a relation here with the Muslim's ban by Trump.......

This tragic act may have a small relation to Trump`s policies , but extreme Islamaphobia existed in Quebec long before Trump took power.
I believe that it`s motivated by an isolationist reaction, from a minority of small town and rural Quebecers who fear a cultural change coming from a flood of 3rd world immigrants.
They see what`s happening in France where a right wing nationalist party may soon take power in defence of so called European values .

Police have identified 2 of the suspected attackers and one of them has a Muslim name....interesting twist.

We had a teen in Winnipeg who wanted to go fight for ISIS. His father was a serving member of our armed forces.

These people are just monsters.

Anyone who followed the commission Bouchard-Taylor will completely agree with you Cloudsurf. The amount of fear and racism (out of pure ignorance? or intellect laziness?) was staggering in rural quebec.

Cheers,

..sadly Jalimon you got it right....in my humble opinion. Agree with cloudsurf that Islamaphobia exists in Québec BUT not only in small or rural communities. For example i was à un souper d'anniversaire last Saturday evening in the east of Montréal with around 40 peoples mostly Montréalais and you should have heard all the bad comments sur les Musulmans....icroyable....did not stayed long....je n'en revenais tout simplement pas.

Look behind you.
Looks like it was a lone gun man and the other man arrested was released.
" Police now say only one of the two people arrested after Sunday’s terror attack on a mosque in Quebec City is a suspect, with the second man considered a witness."
Mohamed Khadir was released.

I am just like you on this. I am tired of all this non sense violence in the world. As a kid my mother always said to be carefull with everything, you never know when somebody will try to rob you. Also don't go in dark alleys and stuff like that.

But in the current era, you can be drinking a beer quietly with friends or assisting a concert and some crazy maniacs can enter and kill you for NO REASONS AT ALL. That scare me a lot. Everytime i have been going at a show, especially since the Paris attack, i am always nervous, always analyze the room to know where are the exits and such. It taint the pleasure of being there.
