A plea for kindness to my pigeon

I am being completely sincere and not at all sarcastic when I express my admiration for Joe T.'s faithfulness for the Yanks. After all, he has put (thrown) his money where his mouth is for this entire century.

Even though I have bet on Boston finishing ahead of the Yanks this season with him, I also must confess that I am very envious of many of the Yankees. Wouldn't we all like to be grossly overpaid under-performers (even long after we should have retired)?

Hello Anon_Vlad,

Yes, it's true. I do have a warm place in my heart for Joe.t, a loyal fan to a team of "grossly overpaid under-performers" collecting a combined total of about $1,680,000,000 since 2000 with nothing to show for it. How can I be hard on a guy who has faith of steel despite the monotony of failure including the catastrophic ALCS Collapse of 2004. Yet, greedy owners collect obscene multitudes of millions by parading a bunch of flashy stars who can't help but choke...oops, bad word...CHOKE on their own humongous salaries in the playoffs.

Sympathies,

Korbel

According to reports these are the last words between Twins GM Bill Smith and Theo

Smith- "throw in either Bucholz or Ellsbury and Santana is yours".

Theo- "the answer is No, you are asking too much Bill, I will throw in Crisp but I am not giving up any of my prospects".

Could be the undoing of the Red Sox in 08 and could also be one of the biggest GM blunders in Red Sox history.

Hello Joe.t,

According to reports these are the last words between Twins GM Bill Smith and Yankees GM Cashman:

Smith-"throw in either Kennedy or Chamberlain and Santana is yours".

Brian-"the answer is No, you are asking too much Bill. My boss Hank Steinbrenner says we are already making far too much money to risk such a deal. Who cares if we win it all anyway with such enormous profits in the bank.

Could be the undoing of the Yankees in 08 and could also be one of the biggest GM blunders in Yankee history.

True...lol,

Korbel

How sweep it is.:D

With the Tigers hungry for victory it doesn't look good for the Red Sox and .115 Ortiz, good move by Theo in getting Casey though.

anon_vlad- Notice that I did not hear a peep of a proposal for a bet from the three die hard Sox fans(K, rumpels, Korbel), they knew that the Red Sox were screwed and now so are you.:p

Jays sweep Red Sox!!!!!!!!!

How sweep it is! :D

As ESPN put it...."Beckett Shelled by Blue Jays in Debut". Or just recently, "Thomas belts grand slam as Blue Jays rough up Beckett, Red Sox".

The Jays are impressive....i thought pitching was their strenght (and it is), but i didn't think the hitting was as good as i'd been reading. Eckstein is rapidly becoming a fan favorite, including with me. What the hell was up with Julio Lugo anyway? Man, he sucked!!

I am also impressed with Ecstein, where the hell did he come from, he would have looked good in a Yankee uniform.

Doc- You got it all wrong, Lugo did not suck, the whole Red Sox team sucks, ask anon_vlad, he will tell you.:D

Well, the Sox are 3-4 and I can't say I'm surprised. They've traveled 15,000 miles in the last few weeks and had to face a tough Toronto team at the tail end of an 18 day road trip. They played a good team and they played tired. Some home cooking will do them some good.

I wonder what the Yankees excuse is for losing 2 of 3 at home to Tampa Bay? A .500 record at home is a good way to get an early start on the golfing season.

You want double or nothing on who goes farther this season, the World Champion® Boston Red Sox or the Choke King™ New York Yankees, you fucking moron®?

First of all, it's Eckstein, you fucking moron®.

Second of all, he's been in the major leagues for about 10 years, you fucking moron®.

Third of all, if you'd have had any interest in watching the World Series the last 6-7 years, you might have seen him. He's got two of something that A-Rod and the corpse of Mike Mussina don't. But why would you want to watch the World Series, anyway, you fucking moron®? The Yankees are never in it. (Oh, by the way, that thing that Eckstein's got two of? World Series rings.

You don't know what World Series rings are? Tell you what. Just watch the Red Sox home opener on Tuesday. They'll be handing them out right and left.

Hello Rumples,

If you are going to bet with Joe.t, why don't you bet against Cano being the MVP. I bet Josey will take that one.

Go for it,

Korbel

Joe T, baseball mind or mind of a baseball?

I can just imagine you waiting flying to New York and shivering on a street corner waiting for the parade to start now that the Yuckees have actually won ONE IN A ROW!

As you may have noticed before you managed to open your glue bottle, that makes them one for three at home against what has consistently been one of the worst teams in the league. Boston lost to a hot contender on the road.

I fully expected the Doodles to win some days when Boston loses. People are sometimes ahead in the short run at the slot machines at the casino also.

Hey Josey,

The POINT is...YOU say you are a genius...YOU run your mouth off that Cano will win the MVP...now YOU won't back up your mouth and YOU are running away from your own boasts. I have not been foolish enough to guarantee anything, but you make a habit of it. It's your mouth that needs credibility not mine. So how about it? Do I hear a loud clucking??? Did someone let a pimpled teenager-like chicken in hear??? Come on Josey...no dodges with baiting bets. Where are your balls now?????

Cano as MVP???

Korbel

Cough, cough, cough, is that Korbel choking on his own chicken feathers that I hear?.

I think that I will wait for rumpels stupid ass offer of a bet, I just hate taking advantage of a delusional friend and it just kills me, the angel in my head says no but the devil in me says yes, mooohahahahahaha!!!:)
