That is so far from the truth, just look what happens when you win, you burn down half of downtown montreal, fight with the police, and steal from shop owners after you break into their stores. When you LOSE, all you do is talk about the past, over and over and over and OVER again. I think you need one of these my good man, because if you think things will be turned around next year, you are sadly mistaken, here........

Congratulations to Dion Phaneuf for winning the Masters today!

Oops - sorry, my mistake - it wasn't Dion who won, it was another golfer.

Sorry but I did not read your april fools post and usually just skim thru your "work" as is lol. Doc posts as he sees fit and I as well, he is a big boy and can take care of himself, he does not need me to make you look silly, you do a great job of that all on your own. As far as hockey goes, what would the habs do if someone gives a offer sheet to Price for $8 million per season this summer? Would the "habnots" somehow match it  Answer, they have no choice but to, as if they dont they would remain in the basement for years to come w/o him, and likely drop to #30 next year. I think Burke should offer him that or more to keep the scabs where they belong and look oh so good, in the sewer. because they would be even more cash strapped having to pay Carey 3 mill more than he is worth.
No I meant "dislexa" as... in my post on April Fool's !

So far so good... Doc must be boiling himself up wanting to answer my post while you're now doing his old job...

The Four Year Joke That Is Brian Burke

When Burkie arrived in TO he said that his goal was to make the playoffs. He has said that in EACH of his 4 miserable years but of course he has FAILED horribly each and every time.

Although the Leafs have been the laughingstock of the NHL for many, many years, they have only truly hit rock bottom under the pathetic and incompetent "leadership" of Burke.

In their 4 sad sack seasons under Burke the Leafs have totalled a pathetic320 points. Only THREE teams in the league have lower totals in that 4 year span:

Columbus with 317 (almost the same as TO, although Columbus is another team in disarray).

The Islanders with 292... although they at least IMPROVED by 6 points this season while the crapola Leafs were 5 points WORSE than the year before...now that they are TRULY "Burke's team" (sound of hysterical laughter from the OTHER 29 teams!!!!)

Edmonton with 283...but at least Edmonton has won FIVE Cups (!!!) in the last 3 decades...compared to ZERO Cups (laughter again!!!) from the hopeless Leafs in almost FIVE decades!. Also Edmonton improved by 8 POINTS this season (again compared to the gutless Leafs who were 5 points WORSE) and Edmonton is on the way up with a core group of excellent young players ...compared to the Leafs who have a core group of GOLFERS as soon as every regular season ends!

Colorado has the exact same number of points (320) as the Burke Leafs over the past 4 seasons...but Colorado improved by 20 (!!!) points this past season (again compared to the red-faced Leafs who were 5 points WORSE than the previous year).

And of course the Leafs are the ONLY franchise that has FAILED to make the playoffs since the lockout.

In Burke's 4 years at the helm his team has fewer points than the franchise that was forced out of Atlanta and fewer points than a lame duck franchise in Phoenix.

Burke's losers had fewer points this season than Winnipeg did even though the Jets were starting over after leaving Atlanta.

The Leafs have had 15 goaltenders since the lockout and none of them could stop a beach ball.

In the 2011-2012 season the Leafs were 29th out of 30 in goals against! They set a record for their miserable franchise with 11 straight losses on home ice (compared to the great Detroit Red Wings who set a LEAGUE record by WINNING twice that number at home!!!!!)

Burkie's trades have been disastrous, his free agent signings have been laughable (and in many cases don't stick around anyway: e.g.: Giguere, Versteeg, Beauchemin...)

Burkie already has $58 million in committed payroll for his current bunch of losers, since he insisted on overpaying bums like Komi and walking hospital clinics like Connelly and Lupul. But it probably doesn't matter that Burke has so little cap space because he doesn't know what to do with it anyway: one of his biggest signings (ha ha ha) was two-time reigning Most Overrated Player Dion Phaneuf, best known for being a team cancer, a defensive liability, and having the skating speed of a tree stump.

Yes the Leafs are TRULY "Burke's Team" ...and 29 OTHER teams are VERY VERY happy about it!

But to end on a positive note: Sincere congratulations to the Leafs on succeeding in their "Drive For 45|. I have every confidence that they will successfully be able to DOUBLE that goal...eventually making it NINETY years without a Cup, to SHATTER the 86 year futility record held in baseball by Boston.

Gee if they had won "one more game" THIS season they would have been as "good" (laugh, laugh, chuckle) as the hopeless 26th place Leaf squad that Burkie built!

One team needs a goalie and a centre while the other team needs everything else, (minus a goalie, but that could change this summer if Price wises up and leaves) including depth in the minors. All of mtl's "future" (kids down on the farm) are 2-3 years away, minus the gems they already had on the team, what was there, 6 or was it 7 kids who should of been with the bull dogs all season long, up playing with the habs? Well, either way you look at it, they were still playing in the minors. (laugh, laugh, chuckle) ;)

The Leafs have needed EVERYTHING for 45 years. Sadly they are now in worse position than ever thanks to Burkie. I hope Burkie stays there forever! The man is a COMEDIC GENIUS!

You're the one melting down since you keep trying to find excuses for the Leafs by constantly trying to compare them with the Habs.
Habs sucked this year .... Got it ?

If you really want to start to compare to anything that was worth this year and the coming years try with the Wings.
Unless you are still coping with trying to know what winning is all about !

Oh ! and since you picked up Doc's obsession on grammar... I wrote winning not whining ! :D

(ewwwwwwwwwwww, I did it again, bad bad visual!) :faint:
This is the funniest thing I've ever seen in this forum. If I were to correct all of your spelling errors, (for example, "your" when you mean "you're"), I'd have over 5000 review-free posts myself.

since you no zilch about hockey...
Right, I know zilch about hockey. I'm the dope who went running at the mouth about what a genius Brian Burke is. I'm the fool who spent half the season singing the praises of Phil "One Way" Kessel. Right, that was moi.

You know what the fans were yelling at the last few Leafs games? "Go Jays." The Toronto Maple Leafs might just be the worst run franchise in all of professional sports. The Toronto Maple Leafs could give the Baltimore Orioles sucking lessons.

Can you say "OWNED"! :thumb:

Besides who has to know anything about hockey to see that a team that has been "rebuilding" for 4 years...err.....well since '67... but for 4 years under a virtual hockey genius (the great Burkie) and continues to finish in the bottom 25% of the league every year...JUST PLAIN SUCKS! Either that or the IQ of those who continue to define and defend said genius is even lower than that of said aforementioned genius...

Be a leader, not a follower.

Rumps,

I have to disagree. Here's a guy who parrots agreement with his buddies constantly, is tied to Doc like a Siamese twin, needs his buddies to make excuses for him, and is never honest...yet he criticizes others for "following".

This is the funniest thing I've seen in a while, next to his delusional view of Burke.

That's the color of Iggy's honesty. "Rebuilding", which always means improving, redefined as losing on purpose to get better draft picks. This would be the biggest joke about Iggy, if the self-proclaimed real hockey fan hadn't jumped off the band wagon deserting his team for baseball before the hockey season ended.

Might be? MIGHT BE????? Oh Rumples you are FAR too kind! We all know that the Leafs are without a doubt the ABSOLUTE WORST-RUN organization in all of North American professional sports - and yes, I confess that I, too, might be UNDERSTATING matters by limiting my condemnation to only pro sports and only North America!

45 years of abject failure; the only team of THIRTY not to make the playoffs even ONCE since the lockout; four HORRENDOUS years under the Architect of Disaster aka Brian Burke, with the upcoming fifth year rating to be even worse than the first four under his comically inept "leadership".

Give the Leafs credit though: although they know zilch about hockey and zilch about the English language (viz: "Leafs"), they certainly know how to make GREAT Koolaid - as evidenced by the fact that their loyal lemmings LOVE to drink it!

Don't tell that to Burke - he thinks Leafs ‘going in the right direction’

And you still no ZILCH about the sport, lets keep it that way because frankly, I see no hope for you in making any headway in learning about the game at this point. Your the type like 95% on the sports forums to not even profess to have a team or even if they do, fail to talk about them consistently, win or lose, and just come to hate, which is your right, but at the same time you leave real hockey fans laughing because we know it is out of spite from another thread where your team got the beatdown of it's life last september lol.

Burkes contract is not up yet, so until his time in Toronto is done, nobody can say if it was successful or not. I know you do not understand sports rumps, but 99% of the time a rebuild takes some time. Time for kids to go thru the system on the farm, time to mature and grow into their nhl bodies and mentally as well, not to mention the growing pains of life in professional hockey or any sport for that matter. One has to look no further to see his success in Anaheim and how good Vancouver is because of Burkes efforts years ago, you can deny his success all you want, but hockey fans not setting out with total intent to just hate on the man understand what he has done in both markets and dont worry rumps, I would NEVER expect you to admit it, it's not who you are, not in your nature as they say and that is totally fine with me, trust me.

Unlike you, I do not "switch" teams based on winning and losing, never have and never will. Seems I recall you were a Brooklyn Dodgers fan a LOOOOOOOONG time ago, and now your a red sox fan eh? Whats the excuse? They moved????? LOL. It would NOT surprise me if you started liking the red sox in 2004. ;)

PS.Yea, Kessel was bad this season wasnt he? If only PPG players grew on trees eh rumps? There were only 5 players who had more points than him and those five are "only" guys named Malkin, Stamkos, Giroux, Spezza and Kovalchuk and several star players below him, yea, my bad, what was I thinking
ssst.gif
Man rumps, you have more to learn than I thought!
