No replacement has yet been announced. My guess is that it's Randy Carlyle, but it could be Dallas Eakins.

A few days ago, i heard Patrick Roy's name being floated around for next season if he doesn't get the Montreal job once this season ends.

Hey Doc, whatever happened to your Ron Wilson thread? Why would you delete such a memorable thread?

What Ron Wlson thread?

I feel like starting a Randy Carlyle Stanley Cup winning coach thread! :eyebrows:

p.s. Credit to Burkie for hiring the top available coach....even though he'll be expensive, the Leafs got their man! No money-saving Randy Cunneyworth-types for this proud organization! :thumb:

Thin skin and thinner skin have spoken:thumb:. Doc, once again your justification is lame...unless of course Igna is Brain Burke, then it holds water.... Once again the thin skinned twins cannot take the heat...I seem to remember days and days of endless ranting in the baseball thread by you two yucksters when the Red Sox collapse occurred. Yet when the f%$#ing Laffs implode, you simply cannot take it.
Whatever ladies...:rolleyes::rolleyes:...nothing ever changes in the joke box you call home.

Sorry, I will obviously never get the humor of the club...and frankly don't give a crap...:D:D:D.

Burke's record with the Leafs reminds me of a philosophical principle - Popper's Falsifiability. Essentially, Popper says that a statement is meaningless if there is no set of circumstances which could conceivably prove it false.

Consider the assertion: "Burke is a genius and, in particular, a great NHL general manager."

Before he took over, TO finished in 12th in their conference, 11 points out of a playoff spot.

If they continue to average a point a game (tough, considering the rest of their schedule), their average standing for the four years of his reign would be - guess what: 12th position and 11 points out of a playoff spot.

He doesn't appear to done any harm, but he hasn't improved the situation either. Is that enough to disprove to an admirer of Burke that the latter is a hockey genius? If not, I would be curious to know what would constitute sufficient evidence.

Well, personally I'd say its no more against any rules than anything you (and your faithful companion) have been dishing out. Simply a reply to your reply in exactly the same fashion. I simply followed the example as set by merb leader and my merb mentor, you sir holliday:D. Let me think of some of some of the one liners that were thrown out there when others cried out...hey Mr. Mod...I think they went something like...

- if your too thin skinned to get tangled up in the big boy thread don't read it...:eyebrows:

- if the heats to hot, stay out...

- if you can't take it, don't dish it out...

Comon now...after all...it's all in fun...:thumb:

Since the old one was closed by Mop8 I think it's time to start a brand new one.

The Habs have Gomez who sucks real bad, but the Leafs are stuck with the likes of Komisarek (president of the Milan Lucic screwed my career club), Kulemin, Connolly, Armstrong, McCarthur,Schenn,Aulie,Reimer, Da Monster and Phil the shill Kessel,( Mr. Invisible when the going gets tough). What a disaster this season is turning out to be. And what has shit for Brains Burke done.... a big fat NOTHING.

I am new here.
I see Leaf bashing is alive and well.
Geez tell how you really feel.

So it'll be (yawn) yet another year out of the playoffs and of course 45 and counting without making it to the final for Canada's National Embarrassment. To the credit of the Leaf organization, however, Wilson is history. Maybe some improvement would occur if they also dumped the vastly overrated and totally ineffectual windbag collecting (but not EARNING!) the GM's salary.

Look, it's obvious that there is only ONE Kenny Holland, the best active GM and the second-greatest of all time (behind only Sam Pollock and hundreds of miles ahead of everyone else) but Burkie's total incompetence is starting to rival Pierre Gauthier's!

Indeed, the so-called savior will be 0 for 4 by early April.45 years drought,8 years in a row out of the playoffs. The longest run since the Panthers who will obviously make it this year.Of course,Gauthier and Gainey are bad,but at least their team finished first in the conference 4 years ago and reached the semis 2 years later....while the Laffs were long gone.
Tyler Seguin is already one of the best young players in the NHL and has a Stanley Cup ring.Kessel is invisible.Grabosky is just as selfish and heartless as the Kostsytsin bros.Phanoeuf is overated as heel,Komisarek is MIA and will never be same as he was in Mtl,Kulemin,Connolly,Schenn,Reimer,ect...duh.

Yeah, i have to agree that the Leafs' season has been a major disappointment over the past month or so. However, the SCABS' season has been even worse, so that's the consolation for Leafs Nation. :D
