and how are the Leafs doing in their series? Yeah, thats what I thought ...

The way i look at it, the Leafs simply stopped playing hockey two weeks earlier than the Habs. They will have had time to heal & they'll be rested for training camp next season. The Habs, meanwhile, will find it very hard to overcome their shortcomings on an emotional level if they lose this series to the Bruins....a series they believed they fully controlled until the past 3 games.

By the way, both goaltenders were incredible last night & Thomas might have made the save of the playoffs against Gionta a few minutes prior to the winning goal. What a save!

hummm...no. This record belong to the bruins last year, who lost 4 games in a row against philadelphia.

You're correct. But this is the Montreal Canadiens were talking about.....the NY Yankees of the NHL. People have already begin to forget the Bruins' collapse last season in the playoffs. However, if the Habs lose this series, it will be talked about & remembered for years!

Again wrong !

No one believed this. We knew it was going to be very hard to beat the Bruins and everyone against the Habs never believed they would snatch the first 2 games.

The Gutless Habs like you called them clearly took you by surprise only, you ain't big enough to admit it !

I know if Bruins win the series I win big.

But since Price prooved me wrong by being that good once again I will donate half of it to the Carson Kolzig Foundation.

Hello boyz,

If Habs win I'll enjoy seeing Bruins loose. But if Habs loose I'll cash in !
I guess there isn't much people who really understand that game :)

CHEERS

So you are selling this ploy too. Everyone whose team is headed to destruction uses the "I Win Either Way" ( my teams wins or I win a bet ) ploy to hide their embarrassment and tears. First Joe.t, now you. Nice try.

And Bruins just got fre*kin lucky on this last play from the Habs... !
Then they'll tell ya if they win that they earned it ! Pfftt !

"Lucky"...yeah three times in a row, and twice in Montreal.

Bruins win three in a row......if the Habs lose Tuesday night, it will be the biggest choke-job since the Yankees blew it in '04 !!!!!

OUCH!!! That's awful low to connect Canadiens fans with Yankees fans...and to take shots at your Leafs buddy too.

Wait a minute ! Did I hear Bruins fan booing at their team ?

I just got back from Montreal. What a nice quiet place to be this year at NHL playoffs time. No riots, car barbecues, or store front bonfires. I walked all the way on Ste Catherine from Guy to St Urbain and everything was at peace. The city owes the Boston Bruins a great debt of thanks for removing any excuse for the "thug element" to inflict vandalism on it's own good citizens.

The only break in the peace was that booing noise from Montreal to Boston around 11:00 as the Canadiens hack, cough, choked...AGAIN in double overtime...and after having a 2-0 lead in games too. That's what clogged your ears JH F.

And they said Mtrl fans weren't classy enough.

Well, 99% of Montreal fans are classy, met many during the last few days...1% percent just love to barbecue anything on Ste Catherine.

I know if Bruins win the series I win big.

That's it, use the fake "I Will Win The Bet" ploy to sooth the pain. Smart move...lol.

as they have been for the last 6 playoff-less seasons ...

HEEEEEYY GoHabs..I didn't know they allow Canadiens addicts computer access during suicide watch in solitary confinement. It sure looks like the sedatives are working. Obviously, the Montreal police psychologists are some of the best in the world if they can talk JHF, JC, and you off the Jacques Cartier bridge.

You know GHG, the Leafs and their fans are not the problem. It's the Bruins who are whipping your boys.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: Anyone seen Nadya???

Cheers,

Merlot

Hello JH Fan,

You are saying you bet against the team you love, thus telling everyone on this board you are the kind of fan happy to win money through your team's DEFEAT. Yeah right...lol! Or is that how a real Montreal fan is???

No I didn't watch most of this game. Somehow when it came time to make the choice between watching the game and giving every bit of intense sexual attention to one of the hottest and most giving ladies in Montreal...hmmmm...errrrrrrrr...well...somehow I chose SEX! Go figure. Please excuse my choice. Silly me. I could have multi-tasked between the game and delicious, wet, naughty, erotic, sweaty, pulse rocketing sex, BUT, why would I ever want to. As it turned out, it was the best of both worlds to enjoy all the pleasures of one of Montreal's finest ladies, then catch up on the game and relish a great victory. Now that's the best of both worlds. Yes, very good point Merlot!!!

You are supposed to be the serious hockey fan and I am supposed to be the fair weather fan. You follow this sport in great detail all year long, I watch and read about it once in a while, and now the best a "real fan" can do is to cite some booing that was made totally irrelevant by the victory and huge fan celebration that followed. Pretty desperate and weak isn't it. If some very temporary booing comforts you while the Canadiens are going down in flames at this point after being up 2-0 in games then...condolences.

The Bruins have sucked mightily on power plays all year. They should be booed for that. I would have.

Cheers,

Merlot

Ok then it shows that you are for... booing !
That's allright ! I knew deep inside you would go for it too :)

It's ok also to suck on power play...usually it means that they just throw the puck in the zone and go at the net hoping to get a lucky one in... which is basically 90% of their work.

Wow ! I'm impressed :)

(6) Boston Bruins vs. (7) Philadelphia Flyers

This was the first time the franchises have met in the playoffs since 1978, when the Bruins defeated the Flyers 4-1 in the Stanley Cup Semifinals. Boston and Philadelphia had previously met in the Semifinals in 1976 and 1977. The Flyers won the first of those matchups, 4-1, with Boston sweeping in 1977. Philadelphia and Boston also met in the 1974 Stanley Cup Finals, which Philadelphia won 4–2 to become the first expansion team to win the Stanley Cup. The turning points in the series were the injury of Dave Krecji in game 3 and the return of Simon Gagne in game 4 in which he scored the OT winner (and the winner in game 7). Philadelphia came back from a 3–0 deficit to win the series 4–3, becoming the third NHL team to achieve this feat, and the first since the 1975 New York Islanders. In the final game of this series, Philadelphia also came back from a 3–0 goal deficit to win Game 7 by a score of 4–3.[2][6]

May 1 Boston Bruins 5–4 OT Philadelphia Flyers TD Garden Recap [show]
May 3 Boston Bruins 3–2 Philadelphia Flyers TD Garden Recap [show]
May 5 Philadelphia Flyers 1–4 Boston Bruins Wachovia Center Recap [show]

May 14 Boston Bruins 3–4 Philadelphia Flyers TD Garden Recap [show]
Philadelphia won series 4–3

Looks like Boston lost a 3 - 0 lead

Hey Habs fans,

Merlot, when you bet on any sport, you don't bet for the team you want to win, you bet for the team you think will win. I want the Habs to win but I would never have bet money on it because I expected the Bruins to win.

Of course. I never thought otherwise. You bet to win not to prove loyalty, though so many seem to betting and loyalty are inseparable. In any case, I'm having fun seeing JHF on the defensive.

Ok since the Hawks came back 3 games to zero... from Vancouver... I had to bring back this quote from Doc who clearly hasn't watch much hockey games for a while :)

The point is after being up 2-0 in games Montreal shouldn't be in this position, and these allusions to great collapses wouldn't be relevant at all.

Good luck to Montreal tonight. I mean the city area around the arena. Here's hoping the Bruins win. That way the city wins, being spared the impromptu midnight property barbecues.

For safety sake to prevent acting on suicidal urges in case of another Canadiens CHOKE...GoHabs will be locked in a padded cell under constant surveillance, I'm sending a case of Johnny Walker to Techman so he'll be too blind drunk to know the game results, and I'm sending 4 or 5 strippers to JHF to give him some badly needed anatomy lessons...lol. I would send the strippers to Techman, but the last few were never heard from again. Let them go...bastard...lol.

And, a very special kiss to both Naomie and Lola of Montreal Lust.

Cheers,

Merlot

Currently on pace to be the biggest choke of the NHL playoffs: Montreal Canadiens & Vancouver Canucks. It's a dead heat & the title will possibly be handed out within the next couple of days.

As for the post-game bonfire celebrations, it'll happen whether the Habs win or lose. Unless, of course, the city has spent millions (again!) on beefing up the police force considerably for tonight's game. History has shown us that Habs fans simply want an excuse to go nuts & riot after a hockey game! Winning or losing is just a detail.

Defensive breakdown or lack of toughness to blame??? Either way, if 1 or both team choke out in Game 7 their GMs will have a long summer to figure out how to patch the team up for 2011-12.
