Look behind you.
So in the end the Oilers won 3 games, the refs 2 games and the Ducks 2 games. There should have not been a game 6 or 7.
Go Ottawa.

Too bad for my Caps....they had their opportunities BUT....and Fleury was great. Pens-Sens.....should b an easy one for the Pens....in five.....et durant ce temps OVI is très certainement en route for the WORLD CUP....where he will play his best.....

I felt like Penguins will win the Cup. Still do. The only team I see as possibly messing things up for a repeat by Pens is Nashville. Nashville has a very good goalie and they are a hot team. Look for Penguins-Predators in the finals.

Agree on the finalists Pens-Preds. Can't imgine how Sens could defeat the Pens neither Ducks could defeat the Preds. From now we have to look carefully at the PREDS to win the Cup.....very strong team.....bien balancé avec 3 bonnes paires de défenseurs, des attaquants très redoutables et un super gardien. Will b fun to watch.

These young and wet behind the ears Oilers did not have the experience of a painful 7 game series loss that they should have won. Now they do. They did not have the experience of going on the road to win a crucial and tense game 7. Now they do. They simply were not ready.

Not ready??? They took them to 7 games, led for two periods and only lost by a single goal. Not ready??

The only experience they didn't have was to get two wins snatched from them by the incompetent referees and replay officials. The Oilers were also at an unfair disadvantage: instead of having to win 4 games to win the series, they had to win 6.

Sorry but there is no excuse for blowing a 3-0 lead with 4 minutes to go. It never happened before and if the lead isn't blown then the bad call doesn't matter. The pain of that collapse, however, will linger and fuel the Oilers just as their 1983 loss fueled the Oilers in 1984. I can remember the 1984 finals. Going in I thought the Islanders would win, but they got toasted in 5 games I believe and the Oilers just totally outplayed and outskated them. It was apparent that the Oilers were playing with the energy of supreme motivation. As a sports fan, one silver lining of a painful loss of a game or series is the motivation it provides. Check on that with the 1995 New York Yankees or more recently the 2014 KC Royals as well as the 1983 Oilers. All became champs after painful losses the prior year. Personally I feel that the painfulness of the blown lead in game 5 and the bad calls will be a tremendous fuel for the Oilers next year, and that is the silver lining. Their readiness to win will be in part due to the pain from having been so close and lost. No pain, no gain, in weightlifting and in all sports.

No excuse?? Yeah, like the referee and the replay officials blowing the call on the game-tying third goal!!!!!

Had that game-tying goal not counted, we wouldn't even be having this discussion. The headlines would have said: "Ducks surge back, but run out of time. Oilers to close out series at home."

No discussion happens if a 3-0 lead is protected and not allowed to be 3-2. It isn't hard to protect 3-0 leads with 4 minutes to go and blowing it should never happen with 4 minutes left in pro hockey. Period- pointing a finger at a Ref shifts the blame and accountability for piss poor play late by the Oilers.

Watching the Memorial Cup, which is being held in Windsor, Ontario this year. A buddy of mine who's been following the games called me yesterday to praise Leafs prospect Jeremy Bracco, who's playing for the Windsor Spitfires. He refers to him as a Mitchell Marner clone. I watched part of the game and there are indeed some similarities. One player who's impressed me is Spitfires defenceman Mickael Sergachev, who happens to be the Habs' top prospect. I can't see the habs ever dealing him unless it's for a bonafide and proven #1 center. Sergachev will be a good one!

Congrats to PK SUBBAN and the Nashville Predators who advanced to the finals tonight!

Once they win the cup, PK's day with the cup will surely be spending it with the kids at the Montreal Children's Hospital. I wonder if PK will invite Bergervin for lunch to thank him for the trade :)

Nashville is an extremely exciting team to watch & the atmosphere in that building is second to none!!! Great fan support also!!!

There is no doubt that PK will come back to Montreal and spend time with the kids if he wins the Cup!!! What a player!!! I still can't believe Montreal traded him!!! Basically, he was traded because a few bad apples on the team were jealous of him!!! Go PK Go!!! :thumb:
