STN,

Doc brought up that a Ducks fan might be seeing the game from a different perspective than you are.......I quoted that post as it I think portrays the Ducks fan's perspective on this issue, not my own, which is why I quoted his post. I think his reasoning is clear...........

I was hoping that the bad calls would light them up, two day break and then game 7.

I said it before....goaltending is the key in playoffs...Gibson and Bernier were horrible and Talbot did well.....the kids were all over the place......and who do you think will have the determination, energy and enthusiasm Wednesday.....does not look good for the Ducks.

I picked Caps-Ducks to battle for the Cup.....hum.....long way to go.

Talbot is sure saving the Oilers ass, not playing well at all.

Well, the Oilers gave it a valiant effort and the Ducks barely prevailed in defeating them 2-1. What's unfortunate is the fact that the Oilers were the better team overall in this series and had victory grasped away from them by several bad calls earlier in the series. Could they have beat Nashville and faced either Ottawa or Pittsburgh in the Stanley Cup finals?? Of course. But unfortunately, we'll never know.

These young and wet behind the ears Oilers did not have the experience of a painful 7 game series loss that they should have won. Now they do. They did not have the experience of going on the road to win a crucial and tense game 7. Now they do. They simply were not ready. However the pain of this loss will provide them, possibly, with the necessary experience and the necessary fire they need to take the next baby step up the playoffs ladder. Just like the 1983 Oilers of Gretzky and Messier needed to have their asses beat by the Islanders before they could take the next baby step towards a Stanley Cup win the following year. This Oilers team just was not ready, but their time will be coming soon. They could make the Stanley Cup finals as soon as next year.

Look behind you.
So in the end the Oilers won 3 games, the refs 2 games and the Ducks 2 games. There should have not been a game 6 or 7.
Go Ottawa.
