Don’t worry loser Leaf fans, this is just a piece of the puzzle in Gasbag Burke's master plan: don’t peak too early!!!

Wilson has lost the team and Jurke doesn’t have a clue! Gasbag Burke signed 2 marginal defensemen as free agents, grossly overpaying for one (Komisarek) while another (Beauchemin) would be easier to find on a milk carton than on the ice. And how about the Kubina for Exelby trade? Exelby can’t even get in the lineup! Komisarek is 0-0-0 and -2. He is the third most penalized player in the league, #1 for penalized defensemen and all on a team that can't kill penalties. Komisarek can't handle the puck, takes unnecessary penalties and is constantly out of position trying to take the body – Markov made this guy look good when he played here. And how about the rest of Toronto’s brutal D? Schenn looks like a peewee player. Toskala now ranks 50th in the league with a save percentage of .812, a 5.56 GAA. A quarter of your forwards can’t contribute anything but fisticuffs. Worst of all, Jurke has gambled away the future (3 premium draft picks), plus grossly overpaid again, for a moody and selfish player who won’t put up anywhere near the numbers he did in Boston.

It must be Fall, the Leafs are dropping! :D

Looks like Komi is helping his team out again tonight. Another power play goal scored against the Leafs with him in the box. Just when the Leafs had closed to one goal.

3-1 Colorado in the second.

Bummer. :p

and Beauchemin gets turned inside out while Komi sits in the box ...

The line on Komi: no goals, no assists, no points, no shots, -2 and yet another dumb penalty!

Komi: the 194th worst d-man in the league (out of 211)
Beauchemin: 202nd worst d-man in the league (out of 211)

way to use your head Komi!

Check out this goal by this kid during a mini 1 on 1 tournament. The look from the goalie after is priceless.

Rumour has it Brian Burke is now on a plane to Maine for a meeting with the Junior Pirates' GM where he'll offer the Leafs first round picks in 2012, 2013, 2014, & 20015 plus Mikhail Grabovski for this kid. :D

Well at least it would show that Burke is doing something to try to upgrade his hockey team. What's Boring Bob ever doing other than showing up once a week or so looking like he's suffering from chronic constipation? His ways to address the Markov situation have so far been very lame. J-F Bergeron?? C'mon!!! How long will it take him to be in NHL playing shape? Gainey sucks & he's the worse GM the entire NHL!!

Just read on Twitter :p that the Pirates GM refused the offer so Jurke said he'd throw in Komisarek but once again the GM refused saying even the kids in Pee-Wee aren't afraid of him anymore. :D

Can't do worse than the Leafs. They had the entire pre-season plus 6 regular season games and they still aren't in NHL playing shape. So I figure he can't take any longer than that! :p

… and what about Gasbag Burke – the most over-rated G.M. in the NHL. What did he really accomplish in Vancouver? The Canucks were and remained a middle of the league kind of team who could and would goon it up (Bootuzzi, May, etc) when Jurke was G.M. there. Blowhard Burke them moves to Anahiem and inherits an up and coming team built by Bryan Murray (Getzlaf, Penner, Perry). As for Neidermayer, he took a $1M paycut from NJ to play with his brother – windbag Burke had nothing to do with that acquisition. And Pronger - he (his wife) wanted out of Edmonton and the Ducks were one of the teams on his (wife’s) short list – again any G.M. could make that deal. So, that Anaheim team goes on to win the Cup when he happened to be G.M. there.

Gasbag Burke has absolutely no history of building a winner. It’s obvious that Jurke has no clue on how to build a team from the ground up. Essentially, the Leafs are an expansion team - a collection of cast-offs, overpaid free agents, a few decent kids being overplayed or in the minors, and absolutely no depth. Most G.M.s would take the draft route to build an expansion team. But not Burke, he decides that he can add a few pieces (mostly goons) and trades away the most prized assets of an expansion team for an offensive player better suited to a high powered offensive team. Windbag Burke is nothing more than a loud mouthed egomaniac who can (in his humble opinion) do no wrong and whose vision of a modern NHL contender is seriously out of date.

the Leafs certainly should not have any high pics available to boston for the pics they traded as they will be much much improved and finishing alot higher than last year and the draft is very weak the next few years esp next season........GO LEAFS GO!!!!!!!!

This brilliant analysis was posted on September 19. Today is October 14. It took only 3 and a half weeks for the "much much improved" Leafs to be exposed by one of the worst starts in history.

Stajan is coming into his own & looking better year after year. I absolutely love this Beauchemin guy.....actually, i can't remember the last time i've been so upbeat about a Leafs team! :D

Still upbeat, Doc?

And Stajan is looking SO much better that the Leafs "brain trust" (please excuse the oxymoron) decided to at least temporarily remove him from the lineup. Well, at least it's a step in the right direction. Now if they would remove all the other Leafs from the lineup (starting of course with Komisarek!) and then remove Burke and Wilson from their positions, THAT would be something to make Leaf fans "upbeat" about their woeful team!

its 5 games into the season..... are you as delusional as your red wings , i'd like to think you may be a tad smarter but well.... look at the source, YOU :p...... ..

seems no one in hockey chat has much to be proud of after the first 2 weeks..... leafs included, but also remember the wings last game they were blown out and are already looking old and tired as i told you they would although i didnt think it would be this soon :D.....,

the scabs certainly have lil to brag about, they beat the Leafs and if goscabsgo want's bragging rights all one has to do is look and see thats the leafs only point so far so i guess "wagon boy" can brag about that, HAHA!!! ..... the bruins, well SK, i think they will end up being "ok" :D....... but none of our teams are going gangbusters, but then again, its only been 2 weeks.......

The Leafs are young, fast, tough, skilled & will scrap with anyone other teams throw at them. No one will dare push around their smaller, skilled players, knowing full well Ron Wilson will send out an army of tough guys to take care of business if that every happens! Watch out folks, the Leafs mean business & not a single team will take them lightly this season. Habs fans, be afraid! Be very afraid!!

Have to give you credit Doc: Habs fans ARE very afraid! They're afraid that Toronto will be kicked out of the NHL and they'll lose the chance to work their power play every time Komi takes one of his selfish and cowardly penalties.

you have said alot of foolish things in here but do you really believe yourself ? ....... wow! you really make me laugh, literally.... i guess the majority of NHL experts know nothing and goscabsgo knows more? ummmmmm i think NOT :D........ its nice to see you still here tho,. even tho i know its only because the Leafs have got off to a bad start, otherwise youd be on your first road trip of the year, ..... under the wagon perhaps? :p....... o well i am sure it will be coming soon...... try to find someplace warm and work on the tan eh? :D

I don't understand why none of the Leafs' fans (apologists) aren't lauding Burke for getting a head start on what the Leafs contend for every year - the first round draft pick in the next draft. Also, they are extending a 3500 year old record - Moses'.

I don't think that the Leafs are as bad as their record shows. They will certainly win a game this year - maybe even next week.

It's very true that none of our teams are going gangbusters but it's also very true that only the Leafs are an embarrassment to the game. Even Burke and Wilson are saying it!

Only one team can win the Cup (and yeah that one team is often Detroit ) but a team can take pride in itself and have an "acceptable" season even without a Cup win. The Leafs however must have to wear masks every time they go out for a beer.

Here's a free idea on how to make a quick million dollars: Go to the next Leafs home game and sell dartboards with Komisarek's picture on them!

Komi will be ok, he just has to settle down and "use his head" but not to score goals..... :).......

truth be told, scabs fans are scared, its all over the forum boards, but unlike some silly boys i dont feel the need to copy/paste all the time like some Montreal Scab Wagoneers :p...... btw after 2 weeks in the Season, the Scabs,Wings, and Bruins each have 4 points, thats a mere 3 points more than the Leafs, guess it shows how great those three teams are eh? :D........ at this point, all 4 teams that are most cheered for in here are doing about the same...... and none very well.........

The Leafs have a great upcoming schedule...Rangers at home and then a road trip to Vancouver, Anaheim, Dallas, Buffalo and then into the Bell Center to meet the Habs on Halloween who they managed to get their only point of the season against.

My question to everyone is will the Leafs manage to get at least one more point before they meet the Habs for the second time this year? I'm not even asking if they'll get a win...just a tie, one point before the 31st.

Somehow I think they'll still be looking for their second point by the time November rolls around.

And can someone tell me what's with the wacky schedule this year? The Habs play the Islanders here in Montreal on the 22nd and the 26th of Oct. with the Rangers in between on the 24th. Really strange.
