someone is just in denial that his team is playing el sucko this season, and just think, your still only 5 points ahead of the Leafs and also have played 2 more games :)...... not quite the team you were hoping for huh? dont worry tho, there is still 60 some games left for you to do worse :D

meanwhile, has halak FINALLY gotten what he should have by now? and thats a vote of confidence from boring bob gainey to be the #1 net minder in montreal? i doubt it, as gainey's love affair with Price will prevail....... why???????

I know your math skills are limited and you’re not good with numbers – but the Maple Turds have lost 13 games while only winning 3. Those 5 loser consolation points (from losing in OT – the operative word being LOSING) only make your lousy team look better than they really are. If the league didn’t reward the losing team in OT with a point, your shitty team would be sitting in 30th place with only 6 points.

Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brian Burke gave Gary Bettman a tour of the team's new practice facility on Tuesday morning and used the opportunity to pitch the idea of holding an outdoor game at BMO Field.

http://network.nationalpost.com/np/...s-outdoor-leafs-game-at-bmo-field-report.aspx

to make up for lost playoff revenue - there hasn't been a playoff game in Toronto since 2003!

How did Toronto do at home tonight against the worst team in the west - you must have clobbered them?

At least the Leafs were able to put the puck in the net last night.

In other news, big Georges Laracque is out indifinitely with a bad back....again!! He's got two herniated disks. Makes me wonder if he'll play again.

The Habs need to ditch those retro uni's - anything with a leaf on the front is ugly!

That was the best uniform the Habs ever wore in their entire history. They looked great out there with that maple leaf on their chest! :D

(Good thing they weren't playing the Minnesota Wild, or else it would have been very difficult to tell them apart)

Did he ever play even when he was on the ice?

It depends what your definition of 'playing' is. If you saw a big black guy walking on skates & usually trailing the play, then yep, that was big Georges!

p.s. His 'only' use on the team is to fight. Nothing else. He can't skate, can't shoot, can't pass, can't check.....So if the other team didn't put its tough guys on the ice, it's no wonder why big Georges couldn't be seen walking out there on the ice, trying to follow the play.

(I still can't believe anyone in his right mind would have given this big goon with the ability to play bantam hockey a 3-year contract.....unbelievable! )

Good news for the Leafs

Komisarek will be out for 3 weeks. This should help solidify their defence. Leafs will probably pass the punchless Habs in the upcoming weeks.

I agree. Not that Komisarek's a bad player, quite the opposite. But the Leafs have so much depth at defense, unlike the Habs who don't have any debt anywhere, that it'll give a chance for the Leafs to showcase some of that excess defence in order to attract potential trades, without harming the team much by the loss of Komi.

Habs in the desert tonight. Careless Carey Price in nets. Farmhand Pyatt promoted to the second line. Another boneheaded move by one of the league's worse coaches. Doc predicts a Coyote win.

What’s your point? If BGL goes on LTIR then Bob can spend the prorated amount of the cap hit elsewhere (same situation with Van Ryn? – correct?).

He can't skate, can't shoot, can't pass, can't check.....!

Which Leaf slugs and pylons are you talking about? Orr, Mayers, Primeau, Rosebud, Exelby …etc ?

I schooled you on this point before with the example of Toronto signing Tie Dumi to a $1.5M/year deal back when the cap was only $39M - unbelievable!

could you imagine their net worth if they were as good as the Yankees? :p

Hey , it is not easy Winning Championships, lets face it, you as well as anyone knows this, at least the Leafs have only gone like a couple years longer at winning the Stanley Cup than "your" Bruins, but they sure dont come close to the Red Sox's 86 year drought :D

The most valuable team in the NHL, you'd think they would put a better product out on the ice.

What a boring game that was!!!!!

This had to be the dullest hockey game i've seen in years! There were about 100 people in attendance & it was 1-1 after 2 periods. Final score was 4-1 Habs with the 4th goal being an empty-netter. I thought Phoenix could win this one, but hadn't figured on Ed Jovanovski being out of the lineup. Tomas Plekanek, on the last year of his contract (he'll be an unrestricted free agent after this season), was the best player on the ice. Bryzgalov was good for Phoenix, and it's hard to say if Price was good or not since nothing much was happening on the ice all night long. A Hab got pounded (can't remember his name since he's a new player) and not much else. Good thing there was an NFL game on tv at the same time (which was also a doozie). It almost looked like it was the Hamilton Bulldogs against Phoenix since it seemed half a dozen players in the Habs lineup were from their farm team.

There's no way hockey will be played in Phoenix next year. It costs like $10 to attend a hockey game there (slight exaggeration on my part) and there's only 100 people at the game to see the Habs (again, i'm exaggerating a bit). How will they be able to pay their players??

Question for you guys

How come Guillaume Latendresse is still in the NHL?? Why is Sergei Kostitsyn stuck in Hamilton & Latendresse is still with the big club?
