Incredible drive by the Giants. Kiss the perfect season goodbye...

Incredible drive or complete breakdown by the Pats? I sensed as soon as that shit bag overpaid Assante Samuel blew the interception right in his hands and Manning getting away from 3 defenders to launch a hail mary miracle pass/catch that this wasn't going to end well for the Pats. Giants didn't win it, the Patriots blew it!

Hey Longislander,

Were you watching the game??? It was the Giants defense that won that game. Eli...give me a break. Hobbs blew that last play so badly to cut Burris loose your dead great great granny could have hit him.

And where the hell were you during all the posting here...Mr. Bandwagon. Thanks for showing yourself after the game Mr. Honorable Fan...lol.

Eli my ass,

Hello Special K,

How about that very long fourth down Bellichick chose to go for instead of trying for a 49 yard field goal. I was stunned by that one. I was so surpirsed I did not even realize the offense was still on the field until Brady took the snap. As for Hobbs...GONE next year baby.

Stupid,

Pat's defenders were all over Tyree when he made the leaping catch that set the win. On that same play, Manning was bumped and on the verge of being sacked before he found that little bit of space he needed to throw downfield. Give credit to Manning and Tyree for that one.

Samuel blewing the interception is iffy. Either Manning misread the play or the WR ran the wrong pattern, in any case the ball was thrown high and had some mustard on it. Not an easy catch to make especially when you don't expect it to be thrown in your direction.

Exact same thing as the ball the Pats did intercept, which was on the money to Smith with tremendous mustard, but when he turned around he was surprised to have the ball get on him so quickly, so it went through his hands. It was a difficult but catchable ball, and good slot receivers make catches like that all the time.

The Tyree play was just a great play by both Manning and Tyree, the kind of great play that wins games. Manning did not allow himself to be sacked- that's why he was not sacked. And Tyree catching the ball between hand and helmet while jumping over the Pats defenders has to be one of the greatest catches I have ever seen under the circumstances. To maintain possession and not drop the ball required tremendous concentration.

The Patriots were most definitely beaten by a team that played better and deserved to win. Brady was abused by the Giants defensive line all game, which was a surprise only because it didn't happen in the first game, although it was otherwise not a surprise because the Giants did lead the NFL in sacks and had a 12 sack game against the Eagles in which McNabb was on his ass all game. The Giants probably would have won by 10 points were it not for the first half interception mentioned above.

There were very few passes by Manning in this game that were not right on the money, including the one Smith let go through his hands for the INT. In my mind he was a very deserving MVP.

It's nothing when you aint got the Ring

I guess it's Monday Morninng Quarterback time. There's always next years for all you Pat's Wagoneers. I guess for the time being you are not the greatest team ever. Took the Giants with the 12 and I'm laughing my ass of all the way to the bank. :D Pats haven't covered for the last 6 games and they are playing like they are tired. Sure they were blowing teams out at the beginning but in the last 6 games they almost lost. Through shear luck and coincidences they won. Not dominate but just by a field goals or one score. Good teams win great teams put away their opponents. ( Thus my picks with the 12 points.)
I would have pulled for the Pats if they were a bit more humble about it. But they were arrogance and acted like it's all won but the trophy presensation. I guess that why they, and may I quote Chris, " Play the game." Pats showed up and got punched in the mouth. Great defense won superbowl not great offense.( This maybe an exceptions for the 49ers. And they never lost a superbowl.)
If the Pats were more humble about it then I would love for them to make history. Sure they had a phenominal season , it's great that they are undefeated but going 18-1 is like getting the best bj and not getting the job done. BTW Bellichick is an azz he deserves to be embarassed in national T.V. I just feel bad for guys like Seau and Harrison who been in the league forever and come so close they deserve one. You know Vegas lost there azz off last night. We'll see how many of those "pats fan" are out there buying the Giants Jersey today. BTW I hated the Giants as well but It was a good game.

Hey PB,

For your information, Harrison has TWO Super Bowl rings from 2003 and 2004. I do feel terrible for Seau. He gave his heart and soul every minute he ever played. If any player on the field deserves a ring it was him.

Don't confuse all that steaming pile of media crap they piled on the Patriots for anything anyone on the team actually said or did. The media built the crap of the image you see purely to boost their profits. None of the Patriots ever acted like the kind of ultimate trash talking baboons the Blue Boys were for the entire two weeks. Maybe Moss was caught being Moss, but that's it.

So, not talking about who your team is? Or are you sitting next to some of them to WATCH the game? Yeah, I know. They are irrelevant.

Hold the BS,

Korbel

I've just received a communique from Special K, who is away from his computer. He tells me that while he expects the Pats to win, he doesn't expect them to cover.

Clearly then, he is not chicken. He is, however, a man of little faith.

Actually he is a smart man and a very tough cookie to make a sucker bet with, he bets with his head and not his heart, I tried my hardest to sucker him into my trap but as much as I tried he just wouldn't go for it, I could only get one sucker to fall for it.:)

I feel sorry for Junior as this was his last chance for a super bowl ring and my heart goes out to him especially after watching him celebrate with Bruschi on the side lines after the Moss touchdown, he was the greatest side line to side line MLB that I have ever seen, a tackling machine in his prime who could take over a game by himself.

How did you like the Tyree catch rumples?, it was the greatest catch that I have ever seen in football and it led to me making $320 smackaroos off of someone and a "free" date with the lovely Chloe.:)

Hey rumples pal of mine, I have a question for you, should I go in the hotel room first with Chloe or do you want to do the honours?:)

Who are you? Have we seen you around here before...Didn't think so.

First off, Pats wagoneers...Yea, been a Pats fan 38 years, that must make me a wagoneer. The other idiotic points you made were already addressed by someone with knowledge and are point on.

Grab a glove and get in the game if you want to talk shit pook.

Joe.T,

That spread was crazy and anyone who has watched both the Patriots and the Giants play from the end of the regular season on could not have reasonably expected the Patriots to cover that spread. Personally, although I like both teams, and live in a part of Connecticut where it is 50/50 split between Patriots fans and Giants fans, I felt the Giants had a solid chance to win the game. I thought it would be a close game and that the outcome would be decided by turnovers by one team or the other. The Patriots actually avoided any bad turnovers (which was surprising consider the defensive pressure the Giants applied) and turnovers did not factor in the outcome. The game was decided by who made more plays, and I also felt Spagnuolo outcoached his Patriots counterparts. Belichik spent too much time talking to the Patriots' defense and not enough time talking to his OL. You can't win a Super Bowl with a completely anemic rushing game and no pass protection.

Absolutely correct Korbel. 4th-10 and instead of attempting a 49 yard field goal they take a shot at that. Not a smart head coaching play at all.

If you're referring to the pass rush, I agree completely. The Pats had zero pressure on Manning thoughout the entire game (until the miracle pass) and their O line was disgraceful.

As far as a rushing game, neither team ran the ball well which is what I thought it would take for the Giants to have a chance. Hard to believe this Manning outplayed Brady.

I agree, what was Belichoke thinking, overconfidence maybe?, when I saw them going for it I thought that the kicker was injured which was not the case, huge huge mistake by Belichik, the kicker makes it and the game is probably going to overtime.

Hello Special K,

No, it was the failure of the Patriots offensive line to pick up the blitz. As for Manning, credit bumbled interceptions and that incredibly blown play by Hobbs. Manning could have mailed that pass in to Burress and he still would have been open. If anything, give the credit to Burress for the "move", no...wait, not much of a move...give the credit to Hobbs for being dumb enough to bite on such a slight silly move. Of course, Hobbs was just the last of many mistakes, but it's been obvious for a long time that he would be replaced next year because of his inability to be consistent.

Honestly, I thought Brady was heroic. He was getting nailed all game long and he still had the toughness, the guts, and the skill to stand in and drive for the lead right after the Blue Trash Talkers scored. No interceptions and all of those hits on him. Geeeeeez, see if Manning could be anything like that...not a chance.

Screw Manning,

Korbel
