This has to be the most unbelievable thing that has happened in this surreal presidency.

Patron you are intelligent enough to truly understand that this is in fact a surreal presidency. The problem is many don't. They think he is for real.

I can't understand the criticism of Trump at the Singapore summit. Aren't there are any liberals here who see how ridiculous it is to criticize every word, every gesture from an early stage diplomatic negotiation?

Esteemed gentlemen of letters, when the ink starts to be written and set to dry, you will have your say on something concrete. Frankly, a lot of this is irrational bitching and moaning about petty shit. I fear the media's derangement has encouraged this pettifogging. It really is ridiculous.

Should we trust Kim? The North Korea hack of Sony on the heels of the movie “The Interview” is still fresh in my mind. Was all that really necessary over a goofy Seth Roger movie? I actually liked the actor who played Kim in the movie - thought he did a good job with the role. To me it was similar to Rogen’s other movies. I guess Kim isn’t a fan.

Nothing of substance was agreed on,
no time line,
no obligations
no denuclearization,
no nothing,
it was staged for Kim to boost his world presence and for Trump to pander to his US MAGA wearing baseball cap base.

The dictator slash warden of the biggest work camp slash prison in the World, got to meet the leader of the free World as an equal.

"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." Twenty-five years of getting absolutely nowhere is hardly a case for the status quo.

Oh and by the way, three Americans have been released. We kind of make a big deal about our citizens. Also, North Korea isn't firing missiles over Japan. The Japanese kind of make a big deal out of that.

There is an element of hypocrisy persistently calling President Trump an idiot and an asshole then decrying his meeting with another idiot in Singapore. It wasn't like Kim got a meeting with the exalted President Obama.

Trump's concentration camps

Fascist Stephen Miller has convinced his boss Donald Trump that the way to go is to order the DOJ to have children removed from their parents and locked up in cages. Now they're building a 'tent city' to house them outside in Texas @100 degrees F.

They're telling parents that their kids are simply going for a shower and will be reunited with them within minutes, which is totally false. This reminds me of what the Nazis told the Jews in the concentration camps. Former First Lady Laura Bush severely criticized Trump's policy yesterday and compared it to what they did to the Japanese 80 years ago when the US rounded all its citizens of Japanese origin and locked them up in internment camps during WWII. This was one of the country's most shameful events in its entire history and now it seems that history will repeat itself and possibly even more cruel.

What are your thoughts about this? Even the evangelicals backing Trump are starting to express their disgust about this. Many Republicans also (but no lawmakers) and most Democrats and Independents. The majority of Americans are absolutely revolted and want the policy to end. Donald Trump can end it by literally snapping his fingers, which even Trump supporter Sen. Lindsey Graham admitted the other day.

Has America truly lost its way???

It's so horrible and there is no excuse for it, there is no economic reason to hide behind, it's just plain racisme.
My hope is that Republicans with a conscience will hopefully not vote for him next election.

It's dangerous to repeat U.S. media hyperbole. Omissions are a form of misreporting. These photos were posted and tagged to Trump. They were abruptly yanked from the internet by Obama's speechwriter and liberal media outlets that re-posted them when it was discovered it was under Obama in 2014.

We've had a immigration crisis for several years. Unplanned and illegal immigration has often led to very undesirable effects. We had 10 people die in the back of a truck smuggling them over the border.

I try to read through the U.S. media propaganda and understand what's happening. Here are some things I gleaned.

1) Bush and Obama were lenient towards immigrants illegally crossing the border with the border with children. Many were caught and released into the U.S. and simply disappeared into the country. So much so, we even had thousands of unescorted children sent here under Obama.
2) This quieted down for awhile when Trump was elected, but when people heard that children might still be the ticket to stay in the U.S. there was a recent surge in illegal crossing with children. The surge is overwhelming detention facilities. In fact, some illegal aliens pose as the parents of minors. Sometimes smugglers are paid to bring children here.
3) U.S. immigration laws make practical application beyond the letter of the law difficult. When Border Patrol stop illegal crossings they are required to arrest the adults and separate any children from any adults. Children are not to be locked up with adults.
4) If the adults plead guilty and agree to go home, the ordeal is quickly over for the family.

Man, Trump just never does or says anything wrong... It's all a media bias...

He does a lot wrong, but you and others get sucked into the emotional narrative presented by the U.S. media and his opponents too easily. How is saying Trump locks illegal aliens in cages fair when the same media yanked photos off of their websites when they were found to be from 2014? I am simply presenting the facts above that got us to this point where enforcing our laws actually becomes criticized.

Immigration has been a losing game for Democrats down here. Since they are convinced its a winning formula for their long term party prospects, Democrats and most of the media are in a death match with Trump over immigration. Trust me Tiga, this political battle over immigration won't simply go away when Trump leaves office. No one has stood up to the Immigration lobby like this before.

Trump is a racist. He puts Americans over anyone else. There are a lot of Americans who think that way. More than you are told.

Why do Canadians want to deny us Americans an immigration system more similar to yours? Wouldn't informed Canadians think "why does the U.S. have such a chaotic border and immigration system? why is so different from ours?"

Since you, Doc and others only react to the current American news cycle, you always risk being manipulated by the American media. There are plenty of critical areas where you can offer insightful opposition to Trump's policies. Insightful opposition is likely not going to come from the latest talking points you hear from the U.S.

Sambuca, Trump could cure cancer and people would be against it, he is a dick and not too up on politics but in his mind this is hard love. The illegals know the kids will be taken because it is the law but come hoping it will not happen. Just because the law was not enforced in the past ( if it was perhaps this shit show would not be happening ) does not mean it should not be enforced now.
You can not really call someone a racist because he will think Americans should come first and keep " illegals " out. Some here will but that is the media infulence talking, not common sense.
By the time our own fuck up gets booted out of power in the US will be in far better shape than they are now and now things there are better than here.

I/we seem to be ill informed, too emotional, liberals and so on...
The most recent one, being that I/we are not only manipulated but since I/we are not in the know, my/our criticisms have no value, our comments are so lacking in insight... since they are, as you say coming from the latest talking points we hear from the U.S...

I very much doubt your insights are coming from Aristotle, Hegel or even Ben Franklin...

I value honest conversation and debate, but I don't see that here...

Oh well,... The World will keep on turning, History advancing...

I will find other ways to distract myself than in this stail-mate argumentative, so I bid you good night and good luck.

I do not think that Aristotle and his friends thought that where to pee or equal women in the workforce would be more important than the economy. Bringing them into this conversation makes as much sense as comparing this taking the children away to Hitler and the Jews.
Drama drum roll.

Tiga if the measure was in place but not put in practice by the democrats is because they have some humanity.

Tiga, what did you offer as your solution to the problem? Doesn't "honest....debate" require you to offer a solution? You only repeated what U.S. media outlets reported as the problem. It's a fair question to an unfair comment about "stail-mate argumentative".

Many in the U.S. media and far left Democrats want families with children to be given a free pass into the country like they were historically. They do not mention this critical part of a normal argument. What is their solution? They know a free pass is very unpopular.

Now that sending children through Mexico and on to the U.S. border is conventional wisdom for immigrants, allowing such policy will likely to continue accelerating taking children on this trek. Thousands of children unaccompanied by their parents are also being detained as well. The bureaucratic nature of U.S. immigration law is a problem and it's exploited by the Immigration lobby. People should know there are Immigration Activists organizing illegal immigration in Central America coaching asylum scripts and encouraging people to bring or send children. These groups are also financing Immigration attorneys at the border.

And so what would you say Trump has done good so far for the american people? Giving lower corporate taxes? Very popular political measure to do. Looks good. But what happened? It happened that the rich business owner are paying lower taxes. They have since been buying back their own stocks to enrish themselves a little more. Are they investing more? Are they raising salaries? Read about it. Fuck all.

Regular American have not seen any benefit except loose some healthcare benefits. So what Trump does? He tackles immigration as if this was the biggest problem to solve. Which will also hide the fack that he is putting the country in a big commercial war, which will also hurt the middle class.
