I was at Hedonism II with a male friend and had a blast. One of the best vacations of my life. And in fact I did meet a woman while I was there, an Irish national living in the USA, whom I spent the better part of the week with, and we went waterskiing and snorkeling together. The beach there is not that great though. They have two beaches, one clothing optional and one nude. There is a security guard at the entrance to the nude beach and he will seize any videocameras of any kind. The beach is not very wide, and there are a lot of trees especially on the nude side.
What Doc Holliday said about SPs being hired to walk around and be eye candy is true. I spoke to an HDH Montreal SP who told me they paid her room and board, all they asked her to do was to walk around and be eye candy, BUT they did not care what she did on her own time. However, there were also normal, paying female tourists as well (like the one I met) and swinger types. I would think it would be reasonably easy to get laid there for most people who are reasonably attractive and not socially handicapped or retarded.
The resort is a "pure all inclusive" and all drinks are included. The place is a paradise if you like mixed drinks. I would have the bartender make me a pitcher of pina colada and I would take the pitcher, two glasses and plop down in the jacuzzi and drink pina coladas all afternoon and pour glasses for friends. The jacuzzi (the one near the main pool, not the one on the nude beach) is where you go to meet people. That is where I met the Irish woman. Funny but I don't even remember her name now, some years later. Anyway the bartender will fix any drink you want. I also drank something called Purple Rain which had Blue Curacao in it, Bob Marley shots and many other things I never had before or since. For beer they mainly had Red Stripe and Corona. No Molson or Canadian beers. But for the alcoholics on the board, especially those who are fond of the all night bender, well you can go on an all week bender and it's included in the price you pay. While I was there I saw people who were at the bar 24/7 and they obviously had no interest in anything other than drinking and perhaps the odd nocturnal exchange of bodily fluids, if their intoxicated state permitted it.
They have a snorkeling boat which I did one day, and scuba diving is also included. I went ocean kayaking with my buddy but do not recommend because the boat traffic is very unregulated and we nearly got hit by some idiot in a powerboat who was probably high as a kite smoking too much ganga. The fucking wake he created nearly capsized our kayak, which would have led to a dicy swim from where we were at the time. Fortunately we kept the kayak upright, not sure how we did but I did not go back out in that area afterwards.
You can also get drunk and go cliffdiving at Rick's Sunset Cafe which has the most gorgeous sunsets you will see in Jamaica. It's definitely a place to go for a drink, watch the sunset and jump off a cliff if you feel like it.
In terms of entertainment we saw various bands performing and there were toga parties and theme parties. I recall a very impressive band of Jamaican men, all wearing yellow suits and playing Caribbean music and they were fantastic. Truly very talented. I don't remember their name but they played at the resort one night.
When I went it was 1st week of December after the rainy season ends. Don't book any trips August 1-Nov. 30 because that is the rainy season.
The grounds at Hedonism II are sprayed and there were no problems with mosquitoes when I was there which was good news because they had an outbreak of Dengue Fever at the time.
The rooms are somewhat spartan and one step above the dormitory room I had when I was in college, but the air conditioning worked and it does not really matter as you will only spend nights in your room at a place like this.
I also thought the food was very good, better than what is being served at any of the 4 Club Meds I have been to. Very fresh fruits and juice in the morning, lots of jerked chicken and pork, I did try curried goat while I was there as well as the ackee and saltfish and some other native delicacies like conch stew. Between the food, the great drinks, the very good attitude of the hotel staff, the activities and the social aspect I had a great time and thought it was well worth it. I was there for a full week and it only rained one day from what I recall.
It all depends on what you are looking for as to how much you will like it. I was not going there strictly to get laid and if that is what you want there are better places to go.
