Guns in the hands of trained police officers or body guards for the President is not exactly the problem is it.
It is the millions of guns in everybody's hands and the fact that an 18 year old can buy an assault rifle easier than a can of beer.
The other problem is these kind of arguments and excuses, when will they face reality and realize they are the only country in the world with this kind of tragic killing of innocent children and people before they stop with the excuses and do something meaningful with gun control especially of assault weapons, yearly mental health checks of gun owners and potential owners and banning all assault weapons outright.
Guess we will just have to agree to disagree on this one.
BTW it's also interesting how the same liberals/leftists who call for banning guns are the same folks who want to defund the police, limit the power of police to prevent crimes before they happen, charge home and business owners with murder when they kill an intruder who tries to rob them, charge police with murder when they defend themselves against suspects looking to harm them, and are against longer prison sentences for criminals and against the death penalty. The only time they appear to be "tough on crime" is when they want to confiscate weapons from citizens who probably won't vote for them.

Btw I don’t want to defund the police or am I an advocate of being soft on crime and I am not against the death penalty either for murderers.
I will also go along with having a hand gun at home to protect yourself seeing as every criminal has one also and I would not charge anyone if they shot someone who brakes into their home.
What I am advocating is a total ban on assault weapons, there is no logical reason for any “law abiding citizen “ to have one, and I would also want a complete criminal background check and a yearly medical mental health check for all gun owners current and potential, and a minimum age restriction of at least 21 to own a gun.
Will not solve all the problems or maybe even most but it is far better than prayers, hope and sending condolences

My point is simply don’t make it so easy for them to be able to kill 20-30 or 100 people in minutes with easy access to an assault rifle.
On that note we can end this running debate. I hate arguing and if this had gone on much longer I would have thought: "shoot me now".

I was thinking more along the lines of a yearly background check whether or not there were any incidents with police, hospitalization that would show mental issues, not necessarily with a shrink as I agree with you in my view a lot of them need shrinks of their own.
