What is the difference between a French Canadian and a Quebecois?

Those are completly unsubstantiated claims forgetting there's just as much corruption in many other places.

No citation needed. I simply stated my informed opinion. I hold the Parti Quebecois & other separatists responsible for the sad state of the Quebec economy over the past 3 decades.

I will not quote anyone in particular

There are a good 4 or 5 posts where I felt the majority of the francophone population of Québec outside large metropolitan areas got a seriously vile depiction. These things, coming from any side of any debate on the Internet, find their genesis in the impunity that comes with it.

I have spent more than half my life living in or right next to Ontario and had the opportunity to travel this great country from coast to coast to Bay many times. I have lived in a small Ontario town, and one of my parents was born in a small QC village.

What a lot of people forget are the vile ways of politics on any side these days. People seem to wrap up the personalities of Pauline Marois (that woman did anything to cling to her party leader post, she is capable of anything to keep the Premiership), the mayor of Saguenay, Guy A. Lepage and a few others and imprint those on the majority of rural francophone Quebecers. Merci.

Then you get the combined effect of the slow news day in the Anglo press. They always have their antennas tuned to QC for filler.

I have found and still find resentment against immigrants of any stripe, or "French-Canadians" by a fringe of Canadian WASP's. It's a fact that anywhere you go, there is a xenophobic fringe. And crafty politicians to exploit it.

Enough said

A Quebecois is anyone with a principle residence in Quebec.

Many would not agree. I called my ex and asked her the question ( she talked to her sisters, they are small town country people not at all city types ) and the reply was a Quebecois was a Quebecker with Quebec bloodlines, a visible minority with an accent would not be considered a Quebecois no matter if Quebec was his principal residence. An Anglo or visible minority living in Quebec is a Quebecker. I asked her the Question " Can a Quebecois be a Chinese born in China and moved here 15 years ago " , reply was NO, he is a Quebecker. Again, this is from a small group of country people. A person would have more tolerance in Montreal.

For years, people have been complaining about non-ending construction projects, very bad roads, corruption at all facets of government and law enforcement, etc. A lot of the blame can be traced back to that infamous day in 1976 when Rene Levesque's separatists took office.

Before Levesque and the separatist, there were the pilferers of the Duplesis era. All the construction in Quebec in the 50s and 60s lined the pockets of te Simard and Beaudy families. One thing that is surprising to me is how the mob ended up owning these French Canadian construction companies. Maybe the mob mad them an offer they could not refuse.

Oh? The dam burst here and now there is this big Commission of Inquiry and the Hammer Squad. Heads are rolling left and right, mostly Liberal. While I do not hold the PQ for saints, quite the contrary, when it comes to corruption the Liberals both federal and provincial have no equal. Federal Liberal heads rolled also during the sponsorship scandal. The federal Conservatives are just corrupted differently, peddling their new military history, royalty, religion and hockey based sense of feeling Canadian lol. While pulling away any element in the public service that was acting as a reality, business, environment and science check on their ideologically driven tar sand agenda.

If you immigrate to Canada, no matter where you come from, you will eventually become a canadian.
If you immigrate to Québec, no matter where you come from, you will never become a québécois (they invented that néo-québécois term, but it is meaningless).
Anybody can become canadian, not so easy to become a québécois. That's why this country is so fucked up!
I rather have sex, canadian, québécoise, I don't give a shit!

That's just their opinion and I said there are those that would say Quebecois is more of an ethnic group (such as the opinions of those you stated). Quebecker is not a French word, so ask them how they would say Quebecker in French.

My ex is fluent in English and phrased QuebecKer when we spoke meaning person living in Quebec. As for all the threads here they are all peoples " opinions ". The more liberal ones from city people may be more lenient but I am sure if a pure bloodline Quebecois asked a separatist he/she would give the same answer as I did and a few others.

EDIT: I had time to think this over. Ask a Francophone non English speaking ( as my ex's family ) if a visible minority who now resides in Quebec is acknowledged as a Quebecois. I would like to hear HalloweenMikes answer to " is a Muslim who moved to Quebec a Quebecois ". My daughter was born in Drummondville but because of a German last name gets bugged all the time, my son's boss now confesses that he almost did not hire him because of his last name, now he is in line for a foreman position. Montreal and the rest of Quebec does not have the same standards.

It was back in the Levesque era that welfare was very easy to get so that the lower classes would side with the PQ.Now many welfarians feel entitled.
