Fradi’s conclusions sound about right and tallies w/ what I see w/ my family & friends in the US.

Anyway, surveys/studies on sex & virginity r essentially bullshit in conservative US states and countries like Japan. No one is going to tell the truth in these places & risk being branded as a sexual deviant.

I can imagine Japanese teens giving their apple pie replies to the nice American academic then heading off to the nearest love hotel for a quickie.

Neither does the average shy Japanese with no game need to fly off to Bangkok - if u’re Japanese, the entire Japanese sex industry is open to u. Bangkok pales in comparison after all it was the Japanese who introduced soapies, massage parlors, blowjob bars to Thailand. Unfortunately if u’re a foreigner in Japan, it’s like having to pay triple to enter Disneyland w/ no Fastpass.

That being said, countries like the US may have a higher proportions of virgin and sexually underserved men simply because commercial sex in the US is expensive & intimidating for the less confident & well-off which pretty much describes most virgin & sexually underserved men.

It’s just one of many flawed articles that tries to explain Japan’s low fertility rates and old population with people not having enough sex.

Most wealthy industrialised societies have low fertility rates, what makes Japan different is its utter refusal to allow immigration and the incredibly long lives of its old people.

For comparison, Japan has a fertility rate of 1.43% which is similar to Quebec’s 1.54%. I don’t see anyone writing articles about Quebecers not having enough sex.

All the articles reference the same study conducted by the Japanese National Institute of Population and Social Security Research which is controlled by the Ministry of Health.

That’s how propaganda works - A major study is released and circulated to journalists from various news outlets who then go on to write many articles on the same study giving the impression that multiple studies have been done when in actual fact, it is just that ONE study.

Note that I use the word propaganda because the conclusion of the Japanese Ministry of Health study borders on stupidity. Who really believes that falling fertility is caused by young Japanese not being interested in sex?

Horny young people is a universal truth everywhere. If they can’t get sex via a relationship, they pay for it and as stated many times, commercial sex is affordable and plentiful for the Japanese in Japan.

As to why Japan’s Ministry of Health would rig such a study is obvious to those familiar with Japanese politics. Japan has never really been a democracy, if u don’t know that then u don’t know Japan. Sure they vote but it’s almost always the same party winning and there are the all powerful unelected bureaucrats who ensure that no upstart political leader can change the status quo especially the anti-immigration policies.

So it all comes back to the immigration issue. Japan badly needs to revitalize its population but powerful conservative factions are deadset against it. If falling fertility rates are caused by young Japanese being sexually inexperienced then Japan’s declining population problem can be fixed by getting young Japanese interested in sex again. Therefore, no need for immigration ..... Yatta! やった!

^^^^^^ There is probably more sex available to younger men if they lower their standards and seek in " their " group and not for someone out of their league. The average or below average looking girl no one asks out will probably fuck your brains out given the chance.

You mean US study, not studies - singular not plural because both your articles from Washington Post & Joe.ie are referencing the same study by the General Social Survey. You need to stop doublecounting studies, haha.

What I’m calling BS is that the US situation does not apply to Japan where commercial sex is affordable and easily obtainable with far less stigma for the Japanese.

Finding Robin’s spreadsheet got me curious also during that time the exchange rate was awesome. Was very surprised by the quality of the women in Montreal.
