How the fuck do some merb posters say favorable things about Cuba in the political thread when something happens like Fidel dying.

The things that go on in the Cuba’s and Morocco’s of the world are just terrible.

Patron you have to go to Cuba to understand. The population of Cuba is like in jail because of their stupid extreme socialist leader. But do not blame them. They would surely like to live like you and me.

Cuba has a vibe that is hard to beat. I love going there. They are generous of their time because that is the only thing they have.

I simply wish I could go more often...

The thing is once down in Cuba all other barriers are let loose and what matters is how you deal with them.

Very well said Patron. I would say prices have gone up in Colombia and Brazil. Colombia became more stable, safer and well-traveled. Brazil has been impacted by the relative clean-up of Copacabana that in the 90s/00s turned into a rather free-flowing international sex market with men coming from all over the world to hook-up with Brasileiras drawn from all over the country. Brazilian price increases are more opaque because large currency fluctuations down and up create distortions to prices in US$. Brazil is currently much more expensive than it was in the early 2000s.

There is one other variable that Socialism has traditionally introduced. Socialism has been very anti-religion and anti-traditional values. Czech, Russian and Ukrainian girls seem to have open, liberal views on sex. In contrast, Polish girls are more religious and conservative. The game never developed to the same extent in Poland.

I am not so sure that religion plays a huge role here. And come to think of it, Poland was actually very good back in the day. Definitely Warsaw, and (to a little lesser degree) Krakow as well. The choice was abundant and the prices were very good. Although, as is the case everywhere, it helped a lot if you could understand the local language, even if a little.

I have no idea what is going on there today, haven't been to Poland for at least 15 years.

My first experience outside Montreal was in Caracas, Venezuela.

I don't know if I can really consider it as ''hobbying'' because it was not my intention - there was no mens rea to commit the underlying'crime of hobbying - to go out with a hooker that night.

I was quite young in 1980. I remember that the Venezuelan governement under Luis Herrera Campins launched that year a massive advertising campaign in order to promote tourism in Venezuela. Venezuela was then the safest and probably the richest place in South America.

The ad in the newspaper - it was La Presse - was enticing: a week in Caracas for 500$ : transportation and lodging included. A very tempting offer for a 22 years old University Student....

I landed in Maiquetía (Simon Bolivar International Airport) and went to my hotel which was located in Caraballeda, a small coastal town facing the Caribbean Sea. The Hotel was the Macuto Sheraton Hotel (it was abandoned after the 1999 hurricane and it was finally demolished a 2015 if I'm not mistaken).

When I entered the hall of the Macuto Sheraton I was flabbergasted! There were very attractive women everywhere!!!!! Hesitantly, I asked the clerk if all the Venezuelan women were always so beautiful.
He replied with great proudness: ''Yes, in Venezuala women are very beautiful. This week they are especially beautifull because they are here for the Miss Venezuela beauty pageant"".

That was the explanation and it explained everything. I remember that I tried to date some of the young ladies but to no avail. Either they were not interested in a young gringo or they were all with their family and watched by their chaperons. Too bad for me!!!!

As there were no possibilities to date a young woman in the Macuto Hotel I decided one evening to take the bus to Caracas : maybe a 1/2 h ride (I don't remember it right). I only remember that at the Caracas bus terminal i hailed a taxi and I asked: ¿Dónde se encuentran mujeres solteras aqui? (Where can I find women here?) In fact, my question was rather : Can you drive me to a nightculb, a dance hall, where I couldfind young women.

The taxi driver said the he knew the perfect place for me. As he thought that I was probably looking for hookers he drove me to a bad neighbourhood and stopped in front of a dilapidated house. I told him, with anxiety in my voice, that I was rather looking for a disco or a night club à la page!


He convinced me to follow him inside the house (I was basically bold and fearless im my prime years!) It was a cheap brothel and inside there was nothing extraordinary to look at. . The pimp or the Madam of the Brothel (39 years later, I have faint memories of the event) asked the women to greet me. It was not an apresentação like in Brazil. I don't remember how many were on duty that night. I have only a faint recollection that they were placed along a wall of the bawdy house like convicts facing a firing squad.

I have no recollection of what was the name of the girl I picked off and how she looked like... a Freudian case of Verneinung!

I never came back to that place again. I was luckier during the rest of my first trip to South America. The day after the night in the spooky brothel I had the chance to meet a beautiful chica while I was visiting the University of Caracas. I had a brief love affair with that gal...and I didn't told her that I had sex with another Venezuelan girl before her :tape:

Religion is obviously just one of many variable including economics, legality, etc. From my perspective, Prague was much better than Warsaw during the 90s heydays. I think of a country like Italy which I wouldn't recommend to anyone for a primarily mongering trip. Then interestingly enough, Spain is a great destination. As a pseudo-intellectual, I do know that the fall of the autocrat Franco unleashed a cultural and sexual revolution in Spain. Spanish women under Franco were basically told to shut up and be good Catholic daughters, mothers and wives.

I haven't been to Santiago, DR specifically. When a country is as poor as the DR, it's very hard to have normal hook-ups. It's not a question of game or looks, but rather the expectations of the local girls. Some guys travel to the third world and hold out hope of a relationship with a foreigner as the incentive, but I think it always comes back to money.

I have spoken about Brazil on this thread. Brazil has a large middle class. You can go to big, affluent cities in the South and find incredibly hot non-pros girls who will be interested. I would say this about Buenos Aires, Lima and Santiago. Cities that are not abjectly poor. You could try this in almost any Asian and European city particularly Eastern Europe.

I just think the DR requires no game so it's not a real pick-up scene.

Funny a thread on terb seems to conclude Montreal better than Toronto for this sort of hobby fun...would never in USA unless it was a lady I had seen before from another country. Did that once, Toronto uni student on a class trip to NYC...saw her in Manhattan. Or 2 Canadian ladies who were in Singapore whilst I was there at different times. Or 1 Australian lady in indonesia whilst i was there.

Thus i suppose this means my world tour features Canada (Toronto & Niagara), USA (NYC), UK (London), Singapore, Indonesia (Bali), Australia (Sydney & Melbourne). I typically enjoy the company of non-caucasian women, and i can attest that the afro-Canadian ladies are the world's best. Have yet to visit with the Montreal ladies (except 1 of Haitian descent who would work a stint in a Toronto agency, she was lovely; and a fave mixed lady who was born and raised in Montreal but now lives/works in Toronto).

I have no recent Copenhagen knowledge, but back in the day it was one of the better European destinations. My favorite place was "Copenhagen Sauna Club" (still alive and well today), where I spent a few happy hours, as well as more than a few hard-earned dollars. This is Scandinavia, after all, so expensive like hell.

I doubt it, but again, I have no current knowledge, have not been to Denmark for many years. But in general, I think Northern Europe is not where you would look for that level of service. Especially now that it has been outlawed in Germany (where I last visited just a few months ago.)
