I think it is an obvious question to ask, no? You took time of your day to see an SP, it raises the question that you may have taken a day off or not working on that day and spoiling yourself. I would not read too much about it. Like talking about the weather. I also ask questions like are you busy, will you be taking time off, are you celebrating St-Jean etc. Etc. ???
If I am wrong, then there is a whole thing I have not been open-minded about! I got that question too, often, but never thought it meant anything.

I found it a nice touch at the end of our session. It is part of having a conversation. There are times that the SP even suggests activities of interest in the city that I might want to attend. A nice touch of humanity.
Second most typical question after "What did you do today"... they even ask that when you are meeting them a morning.

sometimes i am gone from work for less than an hour. I will slip a short rdv in between 2 meetings. Always come back to work with a sense of accomplishement and a little sense of ''try to guess what I was just doing! ''

I thought that was standard basic training for all SP.
Pretty sure Montreal-area CEGEPs offer such SP training ....

I always thought it's just a small talk thing.
I've had SP's ask this and its usually for small talk. I always say going out to eat or a bar and it's a great way to find new and exciting places to eat and drink. There has definitley been more than a few times over the years that it's meant going out for dinner together or a bar to have drinks. When that happens you have to strike while the iron is hot and go for it. This has definitely led to some very interesting encounters and more off the clock sex!
