Hello to all,

It's been a while I didn't jump in the lounge to discuss with
you and this time, hopefully it will remain peacefull and will
be as interesting as it us to be. :p

Why Reviewing ? What to do with Reviews ?? What Reviews does ???

There is tones of reasons why I invite you all to talk about it.
I think it's not clear enought what are the impacts of the reviews,
what are the other when there is none, and above, the reasons many
says why they provide or not the reviews.

As the business have change lately, it seems that the ladies are getting
busy if:

- they provides great services
- they have the right attitude
- they are good looking

They are more if they have pics and are reliable.

On another side, there is plenty of ladies out there that doesn't seem
to be busy, since we never hear anything about them ...
Is it because they are so bad ?

So I have a few questions here for the gentlemen:

1- Why only reviewing when things are going well ?
2- Why not reviewing pretexting everything as been said ?
3- Why not reviewing if you don't like to talk about the acronyms ?
4- Why not reviewing because you think the lady after will be too busy,
and when you will want to book her again, you won't have the chance?

Here's where I am leading with those questions.

1- Reviewing bad encounters will only help:

The agency owner to correct what it is not going well
The lady to see how she gets into trouble while escorting
Try to make things better for the customers and their choices

2- Reviewing when it as already been done helps:

The agency owner to see things are still going well
The agency owner to see things are maybe changing, and are not still going well
The lady to see it's still going well
The lady to see that somethings are changing and she is not doing as well

OR

For both, that things done to correct wrong situations have not
been understood or that in another way, it did. Wich make the
business better for everyone. Maybe the lady then is more
confortable if she is confident that she is doing well, the
agency is confident to book the lady, the customer is
confident about the lady and the agency's words.

3- Why then just not reviewing withtout the acronyms ?
The ladies aren't just acronyms. It's seems a ''must'' to
meet with providers that have also other qualities in
terms of personality (fun, loves the job, genuine)
so then it's an opportunity to tell about it !

4- This one, I get it but I don't get it ...
If you gentlemen are so happy about the lady you think
is marvelous, why would want to keep her for you only ???
Does it make sense that you would do anything to bring her
occupation to a better level and obviously make her reach her
goals before too late ? Do I have to say it's selfish ... ;)

I may think wrong here, but if reviews where constantly poping out,
good and bads, it would make the business easier for everyone and
especially for the customers to choose the very best and leave the
rest. As for the ladies, good clues of if she is made for this or not ...

Comments please ! ;)

Jessy,

While I applaud your efforts, I am not sure there are answers to your questions. I have noticed that many posters have stopped writing reviews altogether. I suspect there is a lot more going on in the back channels, now more than ever.

As far as negative reviews, many people avoid writing negative comments because they recognize that it isn't always the lady's fault. What if she is having a bad day? So it wasn't spectacular but do you blast her on a public board. You need to be careful before you post negative comments.

There are many beautiful and charming ladies that have scant reviews and I am sure it isn't because they are bad. Maybe guys are not sharing as much as they used to. Maybe guys are waiting for yours truly to meet with each and every hot SP in Montreal - no easy feat:p - and post the reviews on my new improved review thread.:D

1- When I posted a bad review, it turned into an argument and nobody seemed to believe me. Either I was really unlucky, or the girl suddenly improved after my review... whatever. I had to review anyway.
2- lazyness?

4- selfishness?
I once regreted posting a good review because the girl was getting more and more busy...
but then many other guys wrote similar reviews... so in the end, my post didn't make a big difference. She was bound to be successful, there is not much I can do about that.

If you post a bad review or report std then you will have to spend one week defending yourself and eventually the thread will be deleted or closed with very high probability. Good reviews are reliable and are confirmed. Anyone looking for a SP will look for her reviews, if she is not reviewed then either she is new or possibly not that great.

Generally people don't post bad reviews on Merb and good reviews have some reliability. This is still better than Terb, where I have seen a crappy SP getting glorious reviews. I don't believe Terb reviews at all anymore.

It does strike me that there seem to be alot of girls listed in ads and agencies and the number of reviews can be sparce or nil. I think it is due to ppl not wanting to bother giving away a goody, also it is possible the level of service in general is high so there is not much to complain about or differentiate.

I have to admit reviews make an impact. My previous trip I decided in the last week to see a girl based on the reviews I found. The remarks regarding spirit, fun, and service can outweight visual imperfections.

I fo look at a website called TER once in a while, it is all reviews, it generally has similar content/reviews as terb merb.

I think some agencies give discounts for new talent to instigate some reviews, maybe there could be a similar incentive to post a review, like 20% off your next visit for a new review on a new bella, good or bad.

I have tried to follow MHA a bit as I know they have had some different girls in the last few weeks but maybe I have missed some of the reviews. Possibly they dismiss some girls who are bad and the reviews never get written.

I have not had the chance to rendevous with an MSC girl, but I hope it can work out in the future.

Tourists rely on this board and the reviews to avoid ripoffs

But about yours putneyswope, you are right ! :p
And maybe they don't always have the time to do an
exhaustif research, to make comparaison. But they do look
who's on the front page and maybe the second one. They do
choose, from what I am told, the ladies they meet from the reviews
they have, if they kept on beeing reviewed, if they are constant also.

Good point !

I will come back with some more.

Meanwhile, more comments please ! :D

I agree that reviews seem to be getting scarce lately. Why?

1- Reviewing bad encounters will only help
Sure but you usually get blasted for it especially if you are not an established reviewer, and even then the white knight syndrome is very strong here.

2- Reviewing when it as already been done helps
Good point but you will end up with a thread that will repeat itself might as well just write: "ditto" I agree that some gems are not getting more new reviews just for that reason.

3- Why then just not reviewing without the acronyms ?
Been doing that for a while but some only want the alphabet soup.
"providers that have also other qualities in
terms of personality (fun, loves the job, genuine)" yes please tell me who they are in your reviews. Yes I know Jessy you have them all;)

4- If you gentlemen are so happy about the lady you think
is marvelous, why would want to keep her for you only ???
Part of human nature, keep a good thing for yourself. I don't get it either.

Jessy you are rising a lot of good points here.
Now I would make probably a good guess that the reviews influence partly the revenue of an agency or a provider. But this is not really the main concern of someone doing a review, at least not for me. If I look at why I have reviewed in the past:

1) To give back to this community that has and still is helping me to make better choices

2) Because I was excited about my last encounter and felt like sharing the experience. Funny I never felt excited about sharing a bad one although I only had probably 2 or 3 so far. (they all disappeared into the sunset already)

3) Because the last lady was very nice and deserved to have a review but for some reason I decided not to repeat.

4) To enjoy the encounter in my mind once more

Now on any boards you will have "leechers" and I am using that word to all who benefit from our post and never share with us their experience. Unfortunately there is no way to stop it on any board and this is a majority unless you start a view the board only with a membership and that you get a minimum posting number policy requirement to stay a member. But even at that leeechers still exist on any boards.

Are you a giver or a taker? In your encounters, in your life, on this board?

Jessy,

I think people are discouraged from posting reviews here because only a few reviewers are respected enough to not end up being attacked, either for being a shill or for their taste in women. In other cases (which is the most common from what I understand) is that a good review of a lady, ends up doing more harm than good (ie: the thread turns to pot with stupid commentary irrevelant to the review)

To say that ladies that are not reviewed often are not busy, well, that would mean most ladies are not busy. However, certainly reviews can have the effect of making the lady more busy. It also helps to make hobbying here less of a hit and miss situation for hobbiests.

I would say most out of towners do not know of this board. I have told many clients of mine of this board, particularly when I am out of town, but when you are dealing with US tourists, most, seem to find me through TER or TBD and overseas, from what I can tell, the hits are not from review boards, but from link sites (I am not sure how they verify that I am legit or whatnot?)

Should the gentlemen here contribute more in terms of reviews - good/bad/so-so - absolutely... that is one of the main purposes of REVIEW boards, no?

Somewhere south of the border
Why I review . . .

As a tourist, reviewer, and recent customer of Jessy’s :))) I can contribute to this thread.

I do write reviews for two reasons:

It helps the girl

No doubt there are some guys that don’t review hoping to keep a great girl a secret, but the fact is that if she does not make enough money or does not stay interested in what she does, she will find another line of work. And what good will that do?

Sometimes I use acronyms and sometimes I don’t, depending on the girl. But that can be misleading, because all women are going to be YMMV to a point - that is one of the things, whether we admit it or not, that we men find so fascinating about them.

Usually I will use more of a narrative, to give a better idea of what the whole experience of being with her was like.

It helps the guys

When I first started seeing escorts in the States I was very dependent on the review boards. Eventually, I got to know some of the guys, developed a network, met UTR girls, to the point where now I almost never use a U.S. review board. (But I will still post honest reviews if the girl likes.)

As I visit Montreal more often I have no doubt the same thing will occur, and maybe I will even have the privilege of being invited to a M&G. But I find MERB to be an excellent resource and if I can help out guys just starting out with my reviews, all the better.

I just read a review about a girl I saw a while back and that has been reviewed before. It brought to light a reason to write more reviews on the same lady.

Although most of the content of the review was old news to me, it brought back that excitement that I had when I saw that lady, that fell off the radar for me. It brought back sensation, a smile on my face and even some reaction in the groin area. wow thanks montreal_monk01 thanks for that freebe.

So let me take back what I said (only stupid people never change their mind). Yes writing a review about a girl already reviewed many times is sort of a reash but it serves a purpose. To renew old acquaintances and stimuli, to rekindle the flame and to meet her again;)

That IS the question…

I think this is a very appropriate topic on a review board of this type, thought provoking.
When I started posting on the board, I sort of made myself a line of conduct to follow as to when to post, and when not to. Time, new events, and the debate we’re having now have changed this.

This is a set of loose guidelines I will (mostly) adhere to in the future. Until, of course, conditions change LOL.

I will start a thread (or submit a positive review to the girl’s thread), when:
  • -It is the 1st time I see this particular lady
  • -She may benefit from a more recent review
On reviewing my very favorite girls, I have decided to go ahead and do it, for many reasons:
  • -Almost 100% of the time, the girls I like enough to review and repeat with are reliable for pre-booking. Since I can usually arrange my meets days ahead, I don’t have too much trouble seeing popular, reliable agency escorts. Even well-reviewed girls can be pre-booked.
  • -I have a sense of the kind of encounters my favorite girls prefer. By reviewing, I also may attract a clientele of like mind to her, helping her along that way as well.
Bad encounters: In light of a recent thread, I have altered the way I’ll proceed from now on
  • -I will phone the agency right after, see what they say
  • -I will compose a review-retell of the date, and post it to MERB immediately, including how the agency responded. End of story.
Circumstances where I do not, or will not review:
  • -At the girl’s request
  • -If I think even a positive review may put do her more harm than good
  • -If she has a no-review policy of course
  • -anything after the 1st date is off-limits, unless an additional partner was involved LOL
  • -If I feel the lady and I simply failed our “chemistry” test
  • -I think “it was me” (perish the thought)

Funny that you mention this :D
But happy that you did cause listen to this one.

I do spend hours every day on the board and I read a lot of stuff.
But beleive it or not, I do still find ladies that have those kind of qualities
after only reading tones of ``their`` reviews, if tones they have of course ... ;)

What I mean, as for an exemple, somebody somewhere :)p)
have wrote a review that was more about the personality
then the acronyms. Another replyed:

Many time people are telling me about some girls out there that
are among the gems and I have find out, they don`t have reviews !

On another side, I hear others telling me about udge desaster when
they have meet this x lady or this x lady... And them too don`t have
reviews !

We are talking the same language here. I would love to see more of these comments on reviews. The:``Yes I know Jessy you have them all`` was just a pun. But I know that you are aiming for that, reading reviews about your ladies is proof enough.

sapman99 you must be such a well organized guy in your life. I am flabbergasted (love that word) about your check list on when to review or not. My reasons for reviewing are more spur of the moment but you are probably more accurate that way by being more rational.

I will generally write a review of someone unless I'm informed otherwise.

The reason that I do it is to add to the community. If I didn't enjoy myself or had issues with the SP, I will mention it politely. I don't believe in putting colour-commentary/descriptions which are normally insulting in my reviews when I did not enjoy myself. For example, if I did not find the SP attractive, I will not say that she was ugly or give a colour-commentary description about how ugly she was. I will just mention in the review that she was not my type because of so and so reasons.

When writing bad reviews of some girls who generally have good reviews, I notice that sometimes people will immediately jump in and attack the poster as someone with a "personal agenda".

I've written enough reviews on this board that so far, no one has accused me of shilling for anyone even when I've repeated with the same provider and mentioned it.

I also try to write the review based on the SP's comfort level. If she has an issue or seems to have an issue with overly descriptive reviews, I'll just write a short paragraph or two regarding the encounter. If she doesn't seem to have issues with descriptive reviews, I'll write my usual descriptive review. Finally if she has an issue with reviews in general, I'll generally avoid seeing her since I've seen 3 SPs who have a no review policy (2 of them I saw before they decided on a no review policy) and I was only satisfied with my encounter with 1 of the 3 SPs (33%).

Good subject as it goes to the heart of what MERB is about - reviews. I agree with your 4 points. I do belive that each of your points is being addressed to some extent in the reviews appearing on MERB but no where near where they should be. I find there's a lot of other issue with reviews on MERB however that may contribute to the perception that there are not enough useful reviews.

I think since its inception there has been a steady increase in the number of reviews as more and more members have joined. What I have noticed about the reviews today though is:
- most reviews are of girls working for agencies advertising in the advertising thread or as a MERB advertiser. Its very rare a non-advertiser agency or independent gets coverage though there are a very few exceptions. At the same time there are many more agencies participating in MERB.
- there a very few mega-threads compared to a couple of years ago. Most review threads are short and do not last very long. Again a few exceptions.
- there are fewer prolific reviewers. I may wrong here, but if you go back to 05-06 guys like EB, Doc H, BBE, and others posted a lot of effective reviews. It seems we have a lot more posters who post much less. Again a few exceptions.
- agency owners and even SP are much more present and active today than 3 years ago on MERB and some tend to be overly involved in responding to reviews and other issues.

Now I will tell you that I post reviews much less than I used to (which wasn't that much to start) for a couple of reasons. When I started, I felt a sense of community. That reason however gave way quickly to my desire to talk about some amazing experiences I started having - a really great series of SPs (you know one) and I really had a desire to tell somebody - unfortunately MERB was the only place I could talk about it.

Today, I've lost both these reasons. I long lost the sense of community as MERB has gone through a series of flames wars and a bunch of annoying posters who pollute the MERB with all kinds of useless and irrelevant discussions, opinions or insults to other members. In addition, there are many reviews and related posts of dubious quality, origin and/or purpose. The latter is the biggest issue - even when I see reviews or posts from long-standing members, I now question the truth of the reviews as I really wonder if they are not being manipulated by agency owners or directly by SPs. Maybe this is why there are so few negative reviews? BTW, Jessy, maybe you should start a poll for members to see if they've ever been asked by an SP or agency owner to write a favorable review for an SP. I think the results would be interesting. So on the first point, I don't really feel there is a community here and not much motivation to post reviews.

I have also lost my desire to speak about my encounters. This is a personal thing but I do not get the same feeling I used to in meeting a girl and establishing a great rapport in addition to having great sex. As BB King sang, "the thrill is gone". There's lots of personal reasons for this but I still see SPs occasionally and while they are fun (sometimes) it feels more like a habit than fun I used to have. Its possible other long term hobbyists are also feeling this way. We probably need a break from this.
