I do not know what the solution is,
Me I know = vaccines

You don't live on the same planet. The industrialized countries that are doing tests have all come to the same conclusion.

COVID-19 Vaccines Protect Against COVID-19 Infections and Hospitalizations.

Vaccines reduce the risk of COVID-19, including the risk of severe illness and death among people who are fully vaccinated. In addition to data from clinical trials, evidence from real-world vaccine effectiveness studies show that COVID-19 vaccines help protect against COVID-19 infections, with or without symptoms (asymptomatic infections). Vaccine effectiveness against hospitalizations has remained relatively high over time, although it tends to be slightly lower for older adults and for people with weakened immune systems.

Around the corner
Maybe its actually that i am in my 30s, i have a pretty good computer and i type fast? ;)

You had a great meal with a friend? Great. I can't? Baaahhh. Wrong. I did recently too. Only difference is we got it delivered. Oh no... i couldn't go sit in a restaurant where peoples talk loud, where i got to wait on someone to bring me ketchup, wait again to pay yada yada yada. Knows what? I rather eat that meal at home, in the comfort of my appartement. Enjoy your restaurant while you can because they closing soon, along a curfew again. Likely december 26. We know Legault, we know his answer to panic is always the same one.

I watched Matrix Resurection yesterday and it was actually better than in theatre. I was able to drink a few beers, go to the bathroom when i want, not endure annoying "kids" (or young adult) talking and slurping their coke. Maybe more movie will release at home as same time as theatre now that its going so badly. I think Matrix was supose to be the last one from WB/HBO but i wouldn't be surprised if they delayed movies again or allow a dual release.

So things are not that bad. Its more about taking a stance for a principle.
You see you are actually enjoying life almost to the fullest, yet you complain and compare it to Berlin in the 1950,s.
If East Berlin would have been like this the wall would have been to keep people from getting into East Berlin not for escaping from it..There was no take out , there was however something called steal whatever you can because there isn’t much and you will go hungry.
I do agree with you about curfews, they achieve nothing and to me right now neither does the vaccine passport as you are almost as likely to be infected by someone who is vaccinated as by someone who is not.
Right now with the way Delta and especially Omicron has changed things it is really a personal thing whether you believe in science and want to avoid becoming seriously ill or dying.
Personally I believe in the vaccines and think it is your best chance at avoiding hospitalization but that should be your choice forced vaccination at this point will not stop the spread but you are still a hazard for clogging up hospitals and putting the health system at risk, so I wouldn’t consider someone non vaccinated as a model citizen.

in your theory. Do whatever the hell we want. If a girl is cute. Rape her. Rape all of them. Not enough police to do anything. If a store has what I want. Rob them all. Not enough police to do anything

Your latest post. You watched matrix. You didn’t pay. You stole it

living in society is trying to ensure certain rules are in place.
Whoa...let's not get carried away here. I've been reading your posts on this thread @Flyingby, and either you've never met @Halloween Mike in person, and/or you have an axe to grind. His politics are a little fucked up sometimes, but deep down he's a cool guy and a benefit to this board. Chill out man, c'mon.

In regards to The Matrix Resurrections, I would have gladly shelled out the money to watch it in theatres (IMAX). That was my plan actually. But then Quebec shut down the theatres and there's no option to buy/watch it digitally (we don't get HBO Max, nor is there a Canadian option). So guess what? Obviously there's going to be people that are going to download it illegally as a result.

I just *barely* got a chance to see the new Spiderman film in theatres (IMAX). It was great...everything you ever wanted in a Spiderman film, and then some. As I was watching, I realized how much I missed seeing a given movie with a live crowd in order to hear the reaction for every surprise that occurred (it had been so long since I had done that). I chose a time where there'd be a bit less people (due to COVID concerns), but I *almost* wish I went with a full crowd on opening night. Best MCU movie since Avengers Endgame, and easily the best Tom Holland Spiderman of them all. I still think (Toby's) Spiderman 2 is the best, but this is pretty close.

I wanted to watch it again, and even rushed to theatres the next day hoping to make it for a showing before everything shut down. But unfortunately, all the theatres were closed starting that day. Was lucky I saw it the day before just in time. Movie came out on a Thursday and the last day of showings for it was Sunday. Sony (and theatres like Cineplex, Guzzo, etc) are going to lose major money, because each future showing I saw online was pretty much packed.

Sucks for the viewers too because there's no digital option at all. And even if there was, it's definitely a movie you need to see in theatres with as many people as possible for the best experience.

HM. I won’t quote you. Too long
what you are suggesting is pitiful. A disgrace to what is right

WOW ! Really dude? So you are comparing taking a stance against what is wrong with ... rape? YIKES ! The simple fact you are on this board, wich mean you see escorts completely destroy your argument. Cause what you do is illegal. You believe it shouldn't be right? Same for me. I think escorting should be decriminalized, legalized or whatever, but certainly not be against the law. So by doing this you go against the law.

Its going too far when it comes to Covid/restrictions etc so at this point yes the population, if they want choice, need to step up and do something against it.

Yes i watched Matrix and didn't paid for it. But like Charmer i would had certainly go see it in theatre if i could. Ultimately when its out on bluray ill pay for it and add it to my collection. I have hundreds of movies at home. Im a sucker for physical medias. So pardon me but no i don't feel any lack of morality in downloading a movie when there is no way to legally watch it yet.

So dunno if you actually work with Legault or something or you have other reasons to bash me, but this seem pretty personal yet i never done anything to you. You pretend to know me or something but you don't.

Eagerbeaver, yes as of now its not that bad, but the more you give control to the governement, the more it takes. If they had put everything at once back then, more likely than not population wouldn't had followed. It was a calculated steps by steps implementation to eventually make it feel like "normality". I want them to regress, not continue to progress in that situation.

Ouf, thank god ;)
But as you previously stated, besides this hiccup, yes HM's posts usually portray him as a fairly decent and ok guy.
Thats something that kinda frustrate me. The governement and the media did such a great job on turning peoples against anybody that is against vaccine passeport, mandates and over the top measures that now these statements make this person question my status as being decent and ok.

Woah easy there cowboy. If you take the time to re-read my words they are basically a complement.

No where do I, and most likely the majority here, question you as being "decent and ok". For most of us you come across as generally a calm and respectful poster who we enjoy reading.

True in this thread there are clear opposing poles on this subject so it is only normal to see so many agree to disagree. Chill bro ...

Yeah usually i am. I tried to lay back on some heat stuff in the last couple years pre-covid too. I always prefer harmony over trouble. But the Covid stuff is getting under my skin. They say on TV some peoples have "Covid fatigue" or something but for me its much more than that. It itch my skin extremely bad. Not nescessarely the measures themselves, as they don't impact me that much outside a few rare things here and there (exept the Curfew when it will probably come back) but mostly the dangerosity of allowing them to keep cutting more and more on our rights and liberties and way too much peoples not only accepting it in resination, but litteraly being in agreement with it. WANTING it.

There are arguments i enjoy debating in life that are mostly fun and light. Xbox vs Playstation for instance. I own both, but im an Xbox guy at heart and much prefer this platform, yet i totally understand why someone would prefer playstation and when i participate in the "console war" its always in a light at heart way. Ultimately i love some PS exclusives and the machine itself is alright. There is other debate that are more serious where i can see both arguments and understand them despite leaning on one. For instance the 2nd ammandement. Im against it personally. BUT i do understand where the peoples who are for it are going. There some touchy subjects like abortion ultimately im on the "my body my choice" side, but i can again understand where the "pro-life" crew are going...

But when it comes to vaccinate passeports i am 1000% unable to understand why anyone can be for that. Im not talking being for or against vaccination, this is like what i said above, i understand both side and ultimately respect both side. But the passeport is nonsense to me. I do understand some measures and even are in agreement with some too. But i am 1000% against the curfew as unless there is terrorism or war going on and we MUST be able to spot any treat at night, there should NEVER be a measure that basically lock us in our home. I get the idea being it. If you can't go out past a certain hour, you are less likely to be able to visit friends and it mean less contacts. BUT the end don't justify the mean. You don't use a blowtorch to kill a Spider in your house, even if the result (the spider being dead) is there.

You get what i mean?

The government bureaucracy is a “necessary evil” that we need to keep in check. Thus, people like HM are doing essential job to question the motivation and actions of the government. Yes, sometimes they go to extreme as well as people on the other side who defend government actions no matter what. The scepticism and a bit of a cynical approach is a healthy thing in relation between government and the populace as bureaucracy always has tendency to self preservation and expansion instead of serving people.

I agree, with the giant caveat that doctors, nurses, and hospital administrators should be given the right to set capacity limits on hospital admittance for the unvaccinated and unboostered. You should get to make individual decisions, but if you make the wrong ones, you shouldn’t get to socialize your misery. Especially now that antiviral pills are available. Take X number of these a day, and don’t call us in the morning, should be the message in the emergency room if your vaccine card is empty or nonexistent.

We run the real risk of losing medical personnel and not having enough young people study in those fields as they see what is happening. Not to mention the stories from the United Kingdom of cancer surgeries being cancelled as a result of all the hospital beds being filled with Covid patients, mostly unvaccinated ones.
Patron,

Should people who deliberately smoke and have probability of a lung cancer 6 times more than who don’t be treated as harshly as unvaccinated?

During periods in which the hospital is overcrowded and doctors and nurses are being asked to work 16-18 hours a day nonstop, then yes.

The prioritization should go to others, such as accident victims or more curable cancers.

The doctor ain’t your bitch. Socialized medicine makes people think he is.

It is a business, or should be.
So, priority should be given to the treatment of COVID vaccinated and loyal to government citizens. Next step will be to euthanize people in psychiatric hospitals to free space to treat these loyal citizens. It is a business, is not it? I think I already saw it somewhere.

Triage decisions in hospitals are not made based on political criteria. Are you guys really serious with this discussion?
They're not. But they should be, especially in times where healthcare capacity cannot keep up with demand AND you didn't bother with the minimum to prevent hospitalization by getting a vaccine. In life, people have every right to be stupid but you also get to live with the consequences of your stupidity.

Much like the pandemic itself, the hospital capacity issue is a ripple effect that affects everyone. Necessary surgeries have been delayed because of what COVID is doing. In Some insurers are already making unvaccinated pay more. My insurance company gave me $150 for getting vaccinated, a vaccine I was going to get anyway. That's because a hospital stay costs money, to say nothing of the bed you might be taking up from someone else. Even sadder is while in the throes of pain and nearing death, there have been people begging for a vaccine then.

Edit: And just like a Christmas miracle, I find myself on the same side of an issue as Patron. Lol!

Triage decisions are based on the best probable outcome. Thus, in accordance with current protocols for COVID ICU an unvaccinated guy in his 30s will be given priority to triple vaccinated 75 y.o. dude with co-morbidities. In fact, vaccination plays no role in this decision. As Patron said it is a business, is not it?

You know what? Fine !

Let me sign official papers that i shall not be prioritized in hospital but give me an official document (with a seal but that is anonymous) that i shall not present a passport and ill agree

I get what you mean. You seemed to be beating around the bush for awhile but have now stated what some others think as well:
There's a difference between being anti-vaccination and being anti- FORCED vaccination.
Seems like some have trouble seeing that distinction.
For the record I am double vaccinated. I had to for work and also because I just wanted to go into a restaurant sometimes and generally just get Big Brother off my back. And yes maybe it is the best way to protect myself and others but nobody can prove that conclusively.
Plus I have mixed feelings about the authoritarian way I feel I had to submit to this. I am certainly not happy about the continous restrictions which are chipping away at our civil liberties and turning us against one another (as this thread clearly shows).
Sometimes it seems like in this case the supposed cure is worse than the disease. The lockdown has been quite destructive in all kinds of ways.
