LOL! Dion would be a perfect fit for Edmonton and just what they need on that horrible blue line. He is playing his best hockey that he has played in years under Babs and leading the Leafs in scoring as well..... WHICH is a reason he just might not even be traded since Babs loves him supposedly. Morgan Reilly is now the #1 dman in TO and will be one of the games best in another year or two if he keeps progressing as he has this season already, thanks to Mister Babcock, Worlds Greatest Hockey Coach

:D
I would not trade the puck boy for Dion.

After the latest Leaf loss tonight, they're 2-8-2.

I'm guessing that's a pretty good record (?). After all, the rebuild is in full mode:thumb:, they made that great Kessel trade to the Pens:thumb:, they made that FANTASTIC trade to acquire the super-valuable Nathan Horton from Columbus:thumb:, and they have the world's best coach since May 20:thumb:

Oh gee and I almost forgot: they had the fourth pick overall and scooped up Mitch Marner - surely he must be lighting up the NHL in his rookie season? Oops, sorry: I just noticed he's not even IN the NHL.

Too bad, TO, but hey, you can't win 'em all! But look on the bright side, Leafs: you CAN...and you DID win TWO out of 12:thumb::thumb:

Congrats to James Reimer - down the road, the main thing he'll be remembered for is being the goalie who let in Henrik Zetterberg's 300th. That's as close to greatness as Reimer will ever come.

Hall of Fame weekend - kudos to two truly great players in Lidstrom and Fedorov.

Also to the consistent (if not great) Housley and to Pronger (who was despised by the opposition but who every team would want on its roster).

The Leaf Rebuild and "the World's Best Coach"

How are things going at this point in time?

Well, let's examine some FACTS:

1. The Leafs are currently in 30th place...out of 30 teams.
2. The Leafs are 2-8-3. They have a mere TWO wins and no other team in the league has less than FOUR! Even Columbus, which began the season with 8 straight losses, has 4 wins.
3. The Leafs are minus 15 after 13 games.
4. The Leafs have scored 27 goals. Only 2 teams in the league have scored fewer.
5. The Leafs have allowed 42 goals. Only 3 teams have allowed more.
6. The two players leading the Leafs in points are both d-men (and believe me, we are NOT talking d-men like Orr, Coffey, Bourque, Potvin, Leetch, or McInnis!).
7. In the NHL scoring race, the HIGHEST Leaf is 91st!!!

"Thank you Mr. Burke." ("In Burke we trust.")

"Thank you Mr. Nonis."

"Thank you MISTER Shanahan."

"Thank you MISTER Babcock (MISTER 2-8-3 Babcock)".

55 more days...and then it will be FORTY-NINE years of complete and utter failure...with NO end in sight for the absolute worst franchise in all of professional sports.

Gotta love it!!!!!!

Congrats to James Reimer on his two recent historic milestones:

On Friday he surrendered the 300th goal of the great Henrik Zetterberg and went on to lose in overtime.

On Saturday he surrendered the 483rd goal of the great Alexander Ovechkin (which ties Ovi with the great Sergei Fedorov for most career goals by a Russian) and went on to lose in a shootout.

Symmetry!

Actually Reimer also gave up Ovi's 484th goal but that was undeservedly called off, resulting in an undeserved loser point for the hopeless Leafs. At least a semblance of poetic justice was achieved when it was Ovi who got the shootout winner.

Leafs now have 2 wins in 14 games (which is 2 MORE than this embarrassment of a "team" deserves).
