Is it safe to say little Joshy bEckett is all but done as a MLB pitcher? Todays performance was fantastic! 5IP 8ER. Oh how the mighty have fallen. I suppose we will start to hear red sox fans bad mouthing him soon if they already have not and run yet another hero out of town, so typical of all things over there in beanie town.

How about those Buccos!?

Is it just me or does Al Aceves remind us all of this guy after tonights performance?

Hey Rumps, where is that great pitcher the Yanks "supposedly" gave up on and was a steal of a signing by the Red Socks?

What do you think Jayman? The pics look similar, eh bub?

Gee. Jman. I am confused. What in the world do you mean by Small minds discuss people? Like who is lggy discussing? I think he's talking about Aceves, a baseball player who plays for your team.

This is the baseball thread?:confused::noidea::noidea:

You call this a "baseball thread" then all you do is kiss Iggy and attack Jman. SO, where's the baseball??? If you had integrity you wouldn't have done either. Thanks for proving what these free-for-alls are...pissing opportunities for hypocrites. If you wanted to "discuss baseball" these threads wouldn't exist....

Merlot, my friend.....why do you constantly talk about yourself? How about once & for all you bring something constructive to the sports threads instead of constantly ATTEMPTING to poke fun at others & making an ass of yourself? How about finding yourself a hobby instead of coming here & constantly embarrass yourself & be mocked by everyone who can read?

p.s. Considering the amount of time you waste obsessing about Iggy, i'm seriously starting to wonder if in fact you don't have a serious man-crush on him.

Cheers!

PS you accusing anyone about talking too much about themselves is simply hysterical...knowing who your fav subject is to talk about = YOU!

You really OWNED them all Jman. But really, how difficult was it going to be to trap DD who doesn't understand his own rules..

See above...and then go ahead and play by your own rules, you always do. Its why you fit in so well with the noxious trio. And BTW this is the free for all thread, the 4 of you have already displayed that you have no contribution to make to the real BB thread.

You all just make me sit here and seroiusly ROFLMFAO because you are so full of yourselves...and your pathetic fantasy world......:help:...

And why does everyone keep refusing to talk about the Pirates?! They are kicking ass.

You really do not read all the stuff you write in this thread do you?

It would be nice if you stopped whining about the same types of things YOU WRITE all the time and making it seem as if you dont but oh well, we are who we are right? Makes one want to think twice tho before he goes and brags about having the Best team EVAH before even playing one game, doesn't it? ;) (it is ok to brag, just learn how to take it when plans dont exactly work out as planned)

Ok, lets get back to baseball.... here is a funny joke: (more to come)

Eyes lit up
Q: How do you get a Red Sox fan’s eyes to light up?
A: Shine a flashlight in his ear!

Guess when you are a Red Sucks fan, guys like Jman need to root for a winning team for a change. Watching losers can get one in a bad mood.

DD, can you please stay out of the BB threads, I have a feeling that rumples is close to coming back and the mere sight of you has him running back to the hills as he has no desire to be owned by you, I have a Doctors note saying that I need his delusional posts for my health.

So you feel good when looking towards the future and stay around these parts and yap yap yap about how great the sox are gonna be "someday" and how scary the Yanks future is, YET when the sox totally fail ALL SEASON and the Bronx Bombers are in first, you take your itty bitty bat and balls and disappear faster than it takes leSter to slam down a three piece and a Bud tall boy. I get it tho, your loyal to your team so you declined along with them. tell ya what, you might have a little more credibility if you stuck around when the going gets tough and if it helps you "save face", just go incognito. I see below you did when you went to fenwaste last week.

If you kept up with your beloved New York Yankees, you'd know that they are themselves determined to get under the luxury tax threshold by 2014. They cannot afford Swisher. I know this. Beav knows this. In fact, everybody knows this but you. Curtis Granderson has a relatively cheap option for 2013. If they really want to get under the threshold by 2014, they'll probably have to wave bye-bye to Granderson after next year. They're already committed for $80 M for 2015 for Jeter, Teixeira, Sabathia, and Rodriguez. Considering that two (Rodriguez and Teixeira) of the four are already well into their decline phases and that the other two will be by then, they'll be in a pretty tough situation. They have to sign Cano; that puts them at, say, $105 for five players. You can bet they're going to give Soriano 3-5 years, taking them up close to $120 for six players. Granderson takes it up to $140; they have to draw the line somewhere and you can bet they draw it at Granderson. Plus Gardner, Robertson, and Hughes will all be Arb3 guys; there goes another $15 Million. The starting rotation is Sabathia, Pineda (arb1) and Hughes. Bye-bye Grandy. Bye bye Swisher.

I've heard this afternoon that Cashman has been on the phone to Los Angeles to see if they want Teixeira and Rodriguez.

Three of the happiest guys in the world right now. (pic was taken from the plane after leaving Chow-Duh town and en route to the City of Angels) Only thing that could of made this insult to injury any better would be if they all had a beer in their hands! Never the less, Great Pic!

A huge trade for the Red Sox. They dumped 270MM in Payroll and only gave up one current contributer.

Aceves should of stayed suspended anothe day

Maybe you would have won tonight socks fans

Game over: Angels 6, Red Sox 5 Aceves (2-9) hit Erick Aybar with a pitch with one out. After Aybar stole second, Chris Iannetta walked. Trout, the young MVP candidate, was next.

Aceves got ahead of him 0-and-2. His next pitch, a fastball, was lined into center to drive in a run. Iannetta went to third and scored on a sacrifice fly by Torii Hunter.

Aceves has blown eight saves.:eek::eek: Papelbon says

Poor SOB has aged 20 years in 6 months. He should resign after the season, this is not good for his health.

I agree that it isn't good for his health. However, a lot of stress was created by himself, starting on the day he low-blowed Kevin Youkilis, which angered not only Youkilis, but the rest of the team and the fans. It went downhill from that moment on.

My gut-feeling is that it's 50-50 on whether or not Valentine returns to manage the Sox next season. He has another year on his big contract, so i doubt that he'll resign. John Farrell isn't available for at least another year, and probably doesn't want to manage in that circus, so my belief is that Bobby V. will at least start next season as the Red Sox manager. If the team gets into a familiar downward spiral once again, then he might and will likely get the hook.

By the way, the Sox lost again last night. They can't seem to buy a win these days. It's sad how low this franchise has sunk to, a team that just under a year ago was 31 games over .500. By the end of this weekend, they likely will be 10 games under .500. Sad, just simply sad.

Not really, it is quite amusing to say the least. Their arrogant fan base is getting exactly what they deserve. (note, not all their fans are this way, but as a whole they project this to others, it is a shame for the good ones) They should learn to "class it up" like the Yankees and their fans. ;)
