Even though the Red Sox have struggled badly & that they were lucky to win the only game they've won all season, most of the blame has to be put on the pitching. However, there are 162 games to a season, and there is plenty of time for pitching coach Curt Young to get his staff to regroup & turn things around.

John Lester has pitched fairly well, and i'm certain the likes of Josh Beckett & Clay Bucholz will rebound. But there are big question marks in the #4 & #5 slots.

Red Sox fans should not lose faith & they have to realize that they have one of the top pitching coaches in the business in Curt Young. He will find an ingredient to prevent his pitching staff from sucking on a regular basis. With only one win so far in the season, things can only get more positive. :thumb:

Why thank you for those encouraging words sir holliday...coming from one who is vastly experienced in a losing tradition and certainly an expert on the same...they are indeed uplifting:rolleyes::lol:.

Honestly Joe, No.

Dont get me wrong, sox fans as a whole are a few beers short of a six-pack but it is early.

What I am interested to see however is when the first Bobby Valentine Meltdown will be. Now THAT is something to look forward to, but I fear he may have a stroke or a heart attack when it does finally happen. I always liked Bobby V as a manager, mainly because he could not lead the "NY MESS" past the "Empire" in the world series back in 2000, but hated him as a commentator so to that I say he is PERFECT where he is! (he is back "leading to fail" and is also "off the air" on major network tv) and that my friend is called killing two birds with one stone! For once I would like to personally thank that idiot john henry, goop job, moron. :thumb:

Can you safely say that the Sox fans are about to "throw in the towel" already on the season, it's only two weeks in?.

Luke Scott: You are a very smart man! "Fenway is a DUMP"

Tampa Bay Rays designated hitter Luke Scott told MLB.com he thinks Fenway is "a dump" as the Boston Red Sox prepare to kick off their 100th season in the ballpark.

"As a baseball player, going there to work, it's a dump," said Scott, whose Rays play the Red Sox on Friday in their Fenway opener. "I mean, it's old. It does have a great feel and nostalgia, but at the end of the day, I'd rather be at a good facility where I can get my work in. A place where I can go hit in the cage, where I have space and it's a little more comfortable to come to work.

"You're packed in like sardines there. It's hard to get your work in. ... You have to go to their weight room if you want to lift. From a fan's perspective, it's probably pretty cool to go see a game at a historic park. But from a player's point of view, it's not a place where you want to go to work."

For Scott, who was a member of the Orioles when Baltimore beat Boston on the last day of last season to help prevent the Red Sox from making the playoffs, it's the second time in as many months he's taken a shot at the Sox. During spring training, he said keeping Boston out of the playoffs was even more pleasing because of his disdain for its fans.

"Just their arrogance," Scott told MLB.com at the time. "The fans come in and they take over the city. They're ruthless, they're vulgar, they cause trouble, they talk about your family, swear at you. Who likes that? When people do that, it just gives you more incentive to beat them.

"Then when things like [the last game of last season, a 4-3 walk-off Orioles victory] happen, you celebrate even more. You go to St. Louis -- classiest fans in the game. You do well, there's no vulgarity. You know what? You don't wish them bad."

Thank You RUMPLES!

Did I just say that  Yea, I did and heres why :D Since our brain trust  when it comes to all things baseball predicted Ivan SUPER Nova would spend more time in Scarnton than in the big leagues last season, he has only gone on to a record of 18-4 and tonight earned his 14th consecutive victory as a NY YANKEE, passing Ron Guidry and tying the great Whitey Ford and now is second all time to only ex red suck and Yankee great, Roger Clemens! Not to bad of company to be in eh rUmps?:lol::lol: Thanks for the JINX! You best stick with thinking you have a great team over in that stinky smelly rundown ballpark in baswtin. (and thats on a good night when the wind is NOT blowing!) :thumb: Pee uuuuuuu!

Well folks, here we are after a week and a half into the 2012 baseball season, and on April 16 lets lookie at the standings.

Baltimore 5-4
NY Yankees 5-4
Toronto 5-4
Tampa Bay 5-5
Boston 4-6

Looks like how a lot of ppl predicted the standings would end in the fall, minus Baltimore tied for the lead. Just stick the O''s between the Rays and the red sox and things look right on schedule. :thumb:

I would not be surprised one bit to see Boston in this position at the end of the season, and to add insult to injury Bobby V says this about Youk and I quote "I don't think he's physically or emotionally into the game as he has been in the past", in other words Bobby V thinks that Youk is washed up, at least that's the way I read it, this team is in a terrible mess.

I agree 100% with Bobby V. Kevin Youkilis is a thirty something man in a 50 yr old mans body, injuries and "other things" have caught up with him. bard pitched well today when he was not walking every other batter.

Newsflash...Yankee fans are claiming the WS Championship in April...

Start the parade...:lol::lol:. Give me a break!

Yeah...right...if there is one thing that is predictable...it is that 2 weeks into the season EVERY year there are some Yankee fans still stupid enought to calim its all over.

And for the record, I started this season with ZERO, ZIP, ZILCH, NADA expectations for the 2012 Red Sox...but one thing is certain - the show will certainly be entertaining in Boston...:thumb:.

In other news...my favorite overpaid, overrated bluejay has mamnaged to work his BA up over the Mendoza line...Mr Bowtista is hitting a blistering .206 at last count...GO JOSIE!!!

You may just be on to something here Mr.T....... In other "sawx" related fiascos, word has it that after tonights "football" game at "The Waste" Nolan Ryan had a APB out for that kicker who missed all three extra points.
Bobby Valentine to be the first MLB manager fired in 2012?.

Josh "The Natural" Hamilton is one of my favorite players and fav ppl . He has overcame his demons to become one of the best at his craft. I wish he was a Yankee and as long as he does not wear the white pyjamas with red lettering I will always cheer for him. Jeter would be in the top voting for MVP if it were to be given today as well. Oh and manager of the year, well, lets just say that the awesome Bobby V would be dead last.
For those aware that baseball is also played west of the Hudson, Josh Hamilton has to be the favourite so far. (.426 average and 5 HRs).

Hey Boyz  rumples might be on to something about Ivan "Super/Cy" Nova.... all last year we heard how his wins were against the bottom feeders and how he never beat the best hitting teams. Well you were right again today rumpie baby, Nova got the win and the team and players he beat are most definately BOTTOM FEEDERS! :thumb:

I think we need a Bobby Valentine Death Watch Thread. He needs some serious :help: getting these bums to play for him and it would not surprise me if that beer chugging fried chicken eating bunch of minor leaguers he is supposed to motivate have already quit on him. Like I said when Bobby V was being courted by red sox ownership after the most epic collapse of all time last year, this could not make Yankees fans happier and it might not end well...... Please little benny cherrington, keep bobby v a red sox and make those dopes in ownership look like the fools they really are, payback for treating Terry Francona the way they did is well deserved. GO YANKEES!

How does this trade sound, Clay Buchholz and Daniel Bard for Roy Halladay?, Yup, this is the trade that the Blue Jays wanted for Halladay but was rejected by the brilliant Theo, as you can see Theo is now working his majic in Chicago who are off to a fantastic start.

Yes and the red sucks now have a guy named "Benny" running the show (well, thats what Johnnie Henry wants all to believe) and who do you think taught Benny Boy everything he knows? Yup, that guy in Chicago who could not wait to get out of chowdah town, at least he was smart about that.

I don't mean to brag but Ken Rosenthal hinted at this in today's game(meaning he will be let go, real soon).

Another epic collapse, the Red Sux can't seem to escape them, some quotes from the Sox message boards today -

"The 2012 Red Sox: the worst team money can buy."

"This team just sucks"

"Yeah, at the present time that bullpen is pretty atrocious and with Crawford and Ellsbury injured their outfield is no great shakes either."

That pretty much sums it up. Some teams spend their money wisely, have a great minor league system and some well, not so much. Dont worry sock fans, there is always next year. :thumb:  :D

Why criticize you ask? Just doing my impression of a boston red sox fan, you guys love someone then hate him with the blink of an eye, this is nothing new in Bobby V's case. Personally I always liked Valentine, until he put on his current uniform and cap. When he is no longer a red sox, I will cheer him again if he ever manages another team again, which is unlikely the way things are going. If he does continue to lead a sinking ship, at least we wont have to hear about his love for dustin p any longer, since pedroia bitch slapped him in the media earlier in the week, yea, I think bobby v's man crush on "pedie" is over.
Why criticize anyone when your posts are far more critical of Bobby V than anyone you are criticizing.
