Apparently you are stuck in the old country, because anywhere the Leafs go, you usually see as many leafs fans as hometown fans, even at the bell centre there are a good 6K-7K Leafs fans per game, sometimes a little less sometimes a little more.

Yeah cause its close... i don't even understand why there is so much leafs fan, i mean if MTL would had suck that badly since 10 years i would not be a fan anymore no matter what... at least they made the playoff half the time... even more, had decent seasons.

And yeah Kordic had a sad life and all, but oh damn he was entertaining :p

Dude, being a fan of something mean you like something...

I was a fan of some music band until they started doing commercial shit and sold out... i still love the old stuff, but i couldn't care less about the new stuff....

I was a fan of John Cena back in his early WWE years.. i tough his rapping character was fun and entertaining(and im a metal head go figure) but when he became boring with that damn stupid soldier gimmick shit and all, and monopolized the championship i started to really hate him(the character, not the human, cause he looks like a very good dude) and especially because with years he never improve... and do the same old shit again and again.

I am a fan of Steven Seagal and Jean-Claude Van Damme in general, but i aknowledge some of the movies they did where terrible and rubber garbage...

I am a fan of the xbox, the first xbox(since we can't call it xbox one anymore) was my favorite consol of the Game Cube, PS2, Xbox era, thats why i bough an xbox 360 and loved that consol so much, yet i was pissed being belief at microsof for the poor ass decisions they made regarding the "xbox one" (wich should be name something better obviously) and until they announced they where backing off with this " no used game sell, no trading, no borrowing from friends" i was REALLY thinking about getting myself a PS4 instead of an "Xbox One"

I am a fan of what i like... period. I was a fan of the Penguins in the Mario Lemieux/Jaromir Jagr Era cause they where awesome and i loved the team. I was a fan of the leaf back in the early 90s cause Felix Potvin was my favorite goaltender. I am a fan of the Penguins now because i love how the team play and the players they have. I am als a Hawk fan since the arrival of Teows, Kane and the turn around that Team made to become a good team.

If you have a blind "love" over a jersey just because its a jersey, then obviously you have issues. I roots for the canadiens because i live in the province of quebec, because these guys are the one i have the more info on tv obviously since i watch RDS, because if they win the cup there gonna be bringing it back in MONTREAL, wich is very close to where i live. I am a fan of montreal just because thats our local team... simple as that. Over the year they didn't won that much but they manage to usually remain an entertaining and competitive team(even with all the bad decisions) and kept my interest.

Lets face it, back then hockey was all about our local home town boys and all, back then what was actually the montreal Canadiens? A bunch of canadiens... thats it. They worked there ass for what they beleived in. Now these days hockey is a matter of salary, money, and players go where they want either because of money or because of chances of winning the cup. The "Canadiens" barely have "canadiens" anymore in the team, its full of swedish, checks, russians, finnish, slovaks and so on over the years... The only reason why i am still rooting for that team is because they represent MONTREAL, not because that much of who they are... It ain't the olympics , where your local heroes come from your place... We have probably the best players today in the NHL (quebecois) but they all play all over the place exept the place where THEY SHOULD play... MONTREAL. So yeah, if i want to root for a team that got an excellent captain wich is from quebec(Toews) and speak french, and a goalie thats also the same, then yeah i will...

And if eventually quebec got a team, i will be as much a fan of the new nordiques that i am of montreal, cause bringing the cup back on quebec soil is what is important, no matter if its quebec city or montreal, thats it...

Dont worry Doc, he is in denial, it goes hand in hand with being a boston sports fan "ovah" the years! Bwhahahahahahaahahah

So true, Iggy. On top of that, Merlot has his facts wrong: Horton's goal to make it 4-2 was scored with just under 11 minutes left in the 3rd period, not 8 minutes. But of course, why should i be surprised that he alters the facts? He lives in that Boston sports bubble also! He's cheered his entire life for a team that hadn't won a championship in 86 years!!!!!!!! Now, THAT'S perseverence, my friend!! Wow!!

Special K, the difference between Jonathan Bernier & the 'Monster' is that Bernier was a 1st-round pick, 11th overrall. Not many goaltenders are picked in the first round. While it's no guarantee that he'll be as good as the likes of Carey Price, Jonathan Quick, Marc-Andre Fleury or even Tukka Rask, most hockey experts regard him as a possible franchise goalie. Since he didn't really cost Toronto much in return, it was a no-brainer to trade for him. Speaking of the "Monster", he's currently playing for Ms. Cairo's Dead Things. So watch what you say about Ms. Cairo's Dead Things, SK. ;)

As for Carey Price. He's already publicly stated his dislike for playing in the Montreal circus. He's publicly indirectly alluded to the fact he'd prefer playing elsewhere. Because of this, and the fact he's been deteriorating over the past 2 seasons & the team had to fire his goaltender coach (Pierre Groulx), i'm surprised the habs didn't make a pitch for Quebecer Jonathan Bernier. Since Philly is rumoured to be looking for a starting goalie & have tried to obtain Carey Price in the past, i'm surprised they didn't go out of their way to get Bernier & then turn around and trade Price to Philly. But knowing Carey Price, he likely wouldn't be happy playing in Philly also.

Iggy, if Philly ever buys out Bryzgalov (which they've promised his agent they will not do), maybe the Leafs could ship them James Reimer for one of their top-half players? How about Scott Hartnell, Matt Read or one of the Schenns? How about they throw in J-M Liles & a spare part (Jeff Hamilton maybe) for both Schenns and one of Read or Hartnell?

In the 5th game, Chicago got away with a trip leading to an empty net goal which sealed their victory. Last game, Chara seemed to be the most surprised person in the rink to escape being penalized when he cross-checked a Chicago player, propelling the head of the latter into the goalpost. He tossed his stick and looked around. The referees were a disgrace to hockey. Are the refs eager to sleep through the games and bring back clutch and grab hockey? I remember a Ducks - Devils final which was described as "unwatchable".

Chara skated like a lamppost. Congratulations to Quenneville for devising a strategy to expose him. I am delighted that Chicago won as they unarguably use less "goonery" than Boston.

That happened today. How about Reimer for Couturier straight up?

This is quite a statement coming from a fan of the absolute worst franchise in all of professional sports, a hopeless team known as the laughingstock of the entire NHL and as Canada's National Embarrassment.

This shows your absolute lack of knowledge about hockey as well as your total absence of logic and proportion. The Bruins made it to the final (at least in part because your wretched leafs pulled the biggest and most cowardly collapse in the history of the playoffs) while your sad sack, gutless losers exited in the first round after fluking their way into the playoffs for the first time in a decade.

The Bruins have 3 Cups since 67...which is exactly 3 MORE than your hopeless leafs. In fact the Bs have WON the Cup 3 MORE times than your stinkin' pathetic leafs have even made it to the finals in that span. The stinkin' leafs aren't fit to lick the dirt off the Bruins' skates...in fact the stinkin' leafs don't belong in the same league as the 29 RESPECTABLE teams that they share it with.

And to top it all off, you're posting this illiterate drivel when you should be hiding shamefacedly in a corner after displaying your total IGnorance of hockey. You're the wizard who predicted after game 3 that the Hawks wouldn't win another game. As usual you got it completely backwards since the Hawks didn't lose another game. You've got thousands of posts and all any of them do is expose your total IGnorance about sports and your total inability to make even one logical point. It must be admitted however that you are the absolute BEST there is at spouting off nothing but total garbage in a level that is not quite up to the abilities of the average 3 year old. Maybe if you spent more time learning about hockey and less time fantasizing about cowboys and listening to the Village People, you might know something about the game and stop humiliating yourself by constantly exposing your extreme shortcomings.

So watch what you say about Ms. Cairo's Dead Things, SK.

That's MISTER Cairo to you, Doc. (Or you can call me Sir.) From his posts on MERB, we all know iggy is filled with sexual confusion and unable to tell the girls from the boys, and it appears that his little problem has rubbed off on you. Not surprising, I guess, given that ig has such a fascination for cowboys such as yourself and that the two of you are such longtime close "friends". Do you share his love of the Village People?

By the way, as I've stated to your hockey-challenged little buddy, it's kind of funny that you refer to the great Detroit Red Wings (4 Cups in the past 15 years, 22 consecutive playoff appearances, countless Hall of Famers, etc., etc.) as "Dead Things" yet you root for a pile of shit that made the playoffs once in a decade and hasn't even SNIFFED at the finals in 46 YEARS. I dunno "Cowboy" (sorry if the term gets iggy all hot and excited, but hey Doc - you ARE the only "cowboy" on the board) but it seems kind of ironic, sort of like your little "friend" predicting the Hawks would lose all the remaining games right before they WON all the remaining games.

Oh and one more thing: if you want to insult the Wings why not at least TRY to come up with something original instead of just stealing some sportswriter's lame attempt at humor from a quarter century ago?

All things considered, I guess it's quite easy to see why you and little iggy are such longtime good "friends". Hey, no hard feelings "Cowboy", I hope the two of you continue to be very happy together. Too bad about that leafs thing, but hey you can't win 'em all (or, in the case of the leafs, you can't win ANY).

The funny thing is... only Leafs fans believe Boston lost was a choke !

Thus making sure we all know they finally admit that Leafs did choke !

The Sequence for the hockey-challenged ones was :
Chicago wins by 1 in triple OT on the first game
Boston wins by 1 in OT on the 2nd game
Boston wins by 2 on the 3rd
Chicago wins by 1 in OT on the 4th
Chicago wins by 2 on the 5th

Then Chicago wins by 1 on the 6th.
As for the 6th game it was 2-1 (only 1 goal difference) up to the last minute.
The difference in SOGs was only 6 in favor for Chicago so it's not like Bruins would have lost even with a huge margins of SOGs.

The biggest difference of goals in all games of the Finals were only 2.

This is by far... not a choke in every text book of Hockey in NHL it's simply called one of the most even matched Finals we ever saw for decades.

Even though Boston felt they could win the game, the sequence of 3 OTs in 5 games should have made them feel uneasy up to the last minute.
A 4th OT was very possible.

It's not like dominating a game 4-1 then losing 5-4 in the last sequence of the game to lose the serie in OT.
But since Doc just came out (finally) to admit that Leafs fans are masochists I think it's their habit of being choked in their life that really is screwing their judgment.

SO the Real and only reason why people would want to associate Boston's loss to a choke is simply because they are fans of the team who performed the biggest choke in NHL playoffs history !

Gonna be a interesting next 10 days or so, what with all the buyouts coming, a deep draft and the cap going down and teams having to let quality players go because of it. Lets see how bad the scabitants mess this up, haha. Burke left Nonis in fine shape.

Wish list in a perfect world, somehow get Paul Stastney or a higher draft pic and draft Sean Monahan, and sign David Clarkson and a Vet Dman to help with the young Def Corp.... but other very good scenarios would be nice as well. Let the offseason begin! :thumb:

Not that i care much about the Leafs, but i feel the same as your post but for Boston... A team having Captain Dirty Player himself leading them hardly does deserve any respect... No matter if they win 3 cups in the last 40-50 years... like its that much anyway.. They are just lucky that they won in 2011 against the choking Canucks and i will remember this year as being hockey's most disgraced year in history. Now im still disgusted they made it that far this year, they should had lost in round 1, but well nobody remember the runner ups much after a few years.. only the winners so well not too bad.

Yet Burke failed to make the playoffs in all 5 years of his tenure. The Leafs finally make the playoffs after seven straight seasons of futility and their delusional fans think they're cup contenders - too funny.

I pity Bolland. He must be the unhappiest man in hockey, going from his two Cup wins with Chicago to the laughingstock of the league.

never said they are contenders yet.. they are being built for it tho and in one or 2 seasons i think they could very well be, but then again once you make the playoffs anything can happen, well except for the scabs lol... with Price in goal you will be lucky to get past one round, he is just not made for the big stage in a hockey mad market. You should wish they trade him to Philly for Couturier and a 1st round pick right now why Philly has no capable goalie at the present.

Btw Burke has his fingerprints all over this Leafs team and Nonis is doing some good things so far since he took over. Added a likely stud goalie for years to come in Bernier, traded for a guy who is gonna drive the scabs crazy, and every other team with his style of play and 2 time cup champ (character in the dressing room goes a long way these days, esp for a young team like TO) in Dave Bolland, and made a very good first round pick in the draft in Frederick Gauthier, a guy the scabitants wanted badly. Cheers!
