Just got back from work, and watched the replays. I am sure that Iggy and Doc are just as disappointed as I am by how they played. There is no sugar-coating it, the boys were pretty dismal. QUOTE]

As usual Rev, you prove yourself to be the wisest of the 3 leaflovers. For the life of me, I can't understand why someone like you continues to support this woebegotten franchise. (I CAN COMPLETELY understand why iggy supports it, however!)

Agreed, nobody plays well every game and all good teams have a few stinkers in 82.

And the leafs often prove that TRULY SHITTY TEAMS also "have a few stinkers"...except in the case of this overwhelmingly pathetic franchise it has been 46 YEARS of "stinkers". Love it!

I must confess that Reimer has been pretty good most of the season. He and "Tie Game" Bernier have saved the leafs in almost every victory they've scraped up, because the leafs have been BADLY outplayed in almost every game.

Tonight the REAL Reimer finally showed up after playing WAY above his head for most of the first quarter of the season. The REAL Reimer managed to stop 15 of the 21 shots he faced...for an abominable .714 save percentage.

On a positive note, congratulations to "Tie Game" Bernier on his shutout! What's that you say? Stopping ONE shot when you come in for a few minutes when you're losing 6-0 against a 26th place team AT HOME and you're merely replacing some SIEVE with a .714 save percentage, it's NOT a shutout? Oh, okay - thanks for the clarification.

No, clearly it was Pavel "made of glass" Datysuk in the video. If you think it was Lupul dressed in those horrible red and white jerseys then you may want to invest in the new pair of glasses you speak of.

I guess you were really shocked tonight when Iron Man (or should that be Glass Man - ha ha) Lupul left the game tonight. I wonder if you can now figure out my reference to Lupul in previous posts?

The Phenomenon That Is Phil Kessel

Let's see now: This guy is 26 years old and should therefore be right in the prime of his career.

Dave Nonis recently gave him a $64 MILLION contract for EIGHT YEARS! It's pretty clear that Dave Nonis thinks Phil is something special.

Then again, Nonis is the GM of the toronto maple leafs - and leaf GMs are not exactly known for brilliance...which might explain the 46 YEARS of complete and utter failure that the franchise has suffered.

Now, let's look at the REAL FACTS behind a guy who is PAID like a superstar but sure as hell doesn't PLAY like a superstar.

Going into this season, Phil had played 504 regular season games, during which he had scored 185 goals and 194 assists, for a total of 379 points. Now, 379 points in 504 games would be good totals for a defenseman, and would be acceptable totals for a forward who actually did things like backchecking, hitting, taking faceoffs, blocking shots, being a team leader, etc. Unfortunately, Phil does NONE of those things. He's a one-trick pony who is "good" ONLY at offense...except, as the STATISTICS show, he's really not THAT good EVEN at offense! By the way, going into this season, Phil was a wretched MINUS 36 on his career.

This guy, who is PAID like a superstar, is currently tied for 31st through 37th in the scoring race, with 21 points in 24 games. Yes fans, this "offensive superstar" is AGAIN below a point a game even on THIS season.

By the way, in the embarrassing blowout the leafs suffered at the hands of the 26th place Columbus Blue Jackets, Phil had ZERO points (duh...like his entire team, since his ENTIRE TEAM was shut out!), and was a MINUS TWO.

Great signing, Mr. Nonis - just like your OTHER multi-year, multimillion dollar contract to David Clarkson, who is now burning up the league with an amazing two goals after a quarter of the season has passed.

We don't wish to embarrass Mr. Nonis, so we won't even mention the Tyler Bozak joke, and we won't remind anyone that Mr. Nonis BOUGHT OUT (ha ha ha!!!) Mikhail Grabovski, who is a far, far better player than almost everyone on the leaf roster (and, trust me, I'm being VERY generous by saying "almost everyone")!

As usual, junior, I see you've got NOTHING to say about hockey, so you're back to obsessing about the sex lives of men. No judgment on you little guy, just an observation. As I've often said, your lifestyle choices are your business and no one else's . Best wishes to you on that, junior.

Well, you seem to think that Pav is old and fragile. Fair enough, you're entitled to your opinion, typically misguided though it may be.

One question though: If Pav is indeed old and fragile, please explain why he is AHEAD of an in-his-prime Phil Kessel in the scoring race.

I'm waiting for your answer to this HOCKEY question, junior.

And while you're at it, maybe you can explain what the word "tomo" means. In SCHOOL, they teach that the word is actually "tomorrow".

PS: Too bad your team still sucks the big one after 46 YEARS of complete and utter failure.

Let's try this again, junior. I pointed it out another time, but the math was obviously a little beyond your reach. Maybe you've done some recent remedial studying, so we'll give it another shot in the simplest terms possible:

JC: 8.25 years of posting, 3190 posts = less than 400 posts per year.

iggy: 5 years of posting, 7483 posts = roughly 1500 posts per year.

Comparison: You post roughly 3 and 3/4 posts (hint: that's almost 4) for every ONE that I post. So if multi-posting equals meltdown (as you simplistically seem to think), then you, sir, are MOLTEN LAVA.

I cheer for TO to lose due to their pretensions at competitiveness and their clockwork collapse each year after about 50 - 60 games. Their collapses usually keep them out of the post season, but as last year was shortened, they waited for the playoffs, and surrendered then in epic fashion.

There are other reasons to root against this classless team as last night's game exemplified. (Life is too short, so I only saw the highlights).

Joining Princess Pylon and cowardly Kessell, Chicken Kadri cross-checked Calvert for no apparent reason in a blow-out game. Calvert did the honorable thing, but must have aching hands today from the number of times he hit Kadri. A TO defencemen punched the scorer of (I think) the 5th goal in the back as the latter was celebrating.

Very well said A_V.

Yes seeing that punk rat Kadri get knocked out by a featherweight was enjoyable.

Only the first of many to come I'm sure. :D

Wow, tho flattered you are so enamored with my post count, it is kinda creepy at the same time, but unlike your posts, i have actually helped others in non sports threads and many via PM who dont wanna ask ?'ins on the board in public. And i have never posted 20 times in 30 minutes like your meltdowns. I must admit tho, you are getting better at that, you now have smaller meltdowns but more ofton, so maybe it is not better for your overall mental stability but it sure is fun to watch!

Btw, another excellent non hockey post Lil c! now who was that complaining about posting about doing that???? hmmmmm ... Oh yea, now i remember........ Lil' c  Your hypocrisy is great entertainment tho!

7,485 posts and yet you have managed to NEVER say even ONE thing of substance. Remarkable! You are truly in a class of your own as an intellectual flyweight.

I have quoted your post in its entirety, because it deserves to be enshrined in a Hall of Fame somewhere. I congratulate you on the brilliant accuracy of your statements.

1. Actually, I would far prefer for your post count to be zero, since a) it would be a perfect match for your IQ, and the symmetry would be something special, and b)it would mean we would not have to be exposed to your juvenile horseshit. As usual, you missed the point. To be fair, however, your lack of comprehension is probably due to your unfortunate lack of skills in reading and writing. We're also fully aware of the fact that you know nothing about hockey, and it appears that you were absent every time the teacher taught math. We do, however, admit that you seem to possess an excellent knowledge of disco music and cowboy culture.
2. What's "creepy" is your repeated posts proclaiming your fascination with the aforementioned cowboy culture, as well as your obvious thirst for knowledge about the sexual habits of the male posters on this board. (As always, no judgements on your very personal lifestyle choices. Do as you wish, but - for the love of God - please keep it to yourself and those who share your tastes.)
3. 20 times in 30 minutes? Afraid not, junior. I guess that brings us back to the observation above about how you were absent every time the teacher taught math. BTW, your statement about how you "help others" in PMs is not only ridiculously self-serving and totally without evidence, but also ignores the fact that you have no idea what anyone ELSE does via PMs...BECAUSE they ARE "PM"s. As usual, your complete absence of logic is of world championship calibre.
4. Meltdown? Junior, it's not a meltdown to write eloquently about the sheer joy that most of the world feels every time the leafs have yet another of their humiliating laugh-a-thons like their 6-0 blowout AT HOME against the 26th place Blue Jackets.
5. Are you REALLY so braindead that you cannot realize that your ENTIRE post (quoted above) has NOTHING to do with hockey, yet you make a comment about MY "non hockey post"? Are you REALLY so absolutely THICK that you do not realize that virtually all my posts are hockey-related and that you virtually NEVER respond to the HOCKEY content, preferring instead to gurgle out a few "bwahaha"s or inflict some of your fantasies about cowboys on a readership that cares nothing about those little things that obviously turn you on to such a great degree?

Now, junior, here is your HOCKEY lesson for today: Dion Phaneuf is now in his NINTH season in the NHL. In those NINE seasons, he has played a grand total of 32 playoff games. Quiz: Does that seem like a little or a lot? Answer: It's a LITTLE...and of the paltry 32 CAREER playoff games that this pylon has participated in, a mere SEVEN were for the leafs, for whom he is now playing his fifth season, and for whom he has NEVER played in a victorious playoff round. Second quiz: Does this indicate that a) Dion and b) the leafs have been SUCCESSFUL in the playoffs? Think about it, junior.

That is a funny cartoon but in the wrong context. It actually looks like Randy Carlyle in the above video after the Kadri fight.
Question: Has there ever been a coach who as quit ?
I think Randy Carlyle must be wondering 'Why, oh why did I take this job.

Bwhahaahahahahaaha!!!! let him be Rev, he gives us real fans the laughter (at him) we all need after a long day, or in his case, "a long day of how he can come up with a new way to embarrass himself" !! :thumb:

PS, i must admit, he finds those ways each time, not easy (or is it?) but he does it!
