I heard his injury was actually toxic poisoning from having that goop spread all over his fucken neck in April. Hopefully it's all out of the cheating scumbags system now ;)

These guys age themselves by 10 to 15 years with these ugly fuckin beards. They look like a bunch of Civil War reenactors. I don't get it. But he has a hell of a slider.

What a performance by Drew Hutchison last night!

He was 1 out, 1 hit allowed & 1 walk allowed from a perfect game against the Orioles in a 5-1 Blue Jays win!

The best part was that i was in attendance to witness the best game he's ever pitched in his young MLB pitching career!

Absolutely HUGE 3 out of 4 for the Yanks versus the Tigers this week (sorry Hungry101) Shane Greene had a coming of age start today and pitched wonderfully. So much for all the fanboys thinking the Yanks would crumble after losing 4 out of their 5 starters this season. Once again Brain, uh I mean Brian Cashman and Joe Girardi deserve consideration for GM and Manager of the year.

GO YANKEES!

PS C'mon Blue Jays, beat Baltimore tonight, the Yanks still have a shot at the AL East Crown :thumb:

We may not score again the rest of the year. We let one too many bats and relievers and one darn good starter (Fister) walk and we got nothing in return for him. We were lucky to pick up Martinez of the scrap heap but he is beginning to tire. We may have fixed the Pen and putting a 5th starter in the pen will help but we needed to pick up one more stick and we did not. Dirks is coming back. Not sure if that will help but we will see. When Miggy and Martinez are off ...as they say in the Big Apple "forget about it."

Oh the back-to-back MVP and former triple crown winner is in a slump. He is batting a mere mortal 0.250 with RISP lately. But fear not MLB baseball fans. All you have to do is stay within 3 runs of your opponent and hope that your opponent's Manager will stick to the "formula." That is to say that he will justify paying their most over rated BP pitcher and bring in their closer to to chase the most useless and least telling stat in MLB: The "SAVE." And that is what happened tonight at Toronto. The lackluster Tigers were doomed and then in the top of the 9th the Jay's brought in Casey Janssen their closer and what followed was a 1st pitch DBL, 1st pitch HR, and another 1st pitch HR by the three struggling rookies in the bottom of the Tiger's order. The only problem is that the Tiger's entered the bottom of the 9th leading by 1 and they had to justify their 10$MM/year closer...needless to say the 9th was a long inning with much nail biting.

but we stole one!

Machado out with a suspected knee sprain. He had an MRI done today & tomorrow the Orioles will advise the media on his status.

Justin Verlander out with right shoulder inflammation. That doesn't sound good.

I'm going to predict the Skanks will be overtaken by the Rays in the standings by September 8 if not sooner.

It could happen. I predicted it would earlier this season. I still can't figure out why Cashman (a.k.a. The Boy Wonder) got rid of Brian Roberts in favor of Stephen Drew, who can't hit & hadn't played second base in 8 years. Martin Prado??? Why???? To warm up the bench??? Chase Headley??? Okay, he's looked average so far. But he's got a herniated disk and likely will be gone after this season. The Yankees are playing with fire if they re-sign him. I think it was a mistake to trade Solarte for this guy.

I like what the Red Sox are doing. I also like what Tampa is doing, but i still feel they could have got more for David Price. However, it wouldn't be the first time the Rays surprise everyone.

I have to agree with you there Doc. Anytime the rouge hose finish dead last in the AL East is a wonderful thing.

The only reason i'm enjoying the fact they've sucked all season long is because after finishing in last place two years ago, the team suddenly began to play way above its head last season under a manager i considered to be extremely inept. Most of the players were having career seasons & everything seemed to click....and the worst part was having to put up with the cockiness of Red Sox fans.

As i mentionned, this was basically a team that only three seasons ago had underwent one of the greatest collapses in the history of professional sports during the final month of that season. Anyone remember the Popeye chicken controversy, among numerous other incidents? They fired their very capable and well-liked manager in favor of the eccentric Bobby Valentine, who took them to last place in the division. The Red Sox fans barely said a word at the time.

I'd been telling folks that last year was a total fluke. And they laughed and attempted to ridicule anyone who wasn't a Red Sox fan.

Early this season, i predicted that the Sox would be battling it out with the Yankees for last place. So far, my prediction still looks good since i believe the Rays will pass the Yankees in the standings. But late in the spring, i predicted that the Sox may become the only team to go from last to first to last. I simply could not see them having two consecutive winnings seasons under a manager as inept as John Farrell.

Sure, they knew they were going nowhere and got rid of their overpaid pitching staff in order for a quick rebuild to begin. They'll blame this on their current failures. But they'll fail to point out that they're playing as well now as they were prior to the trades.

This is a team where the days of getting saved by one of Pappi's homeruns will rarely happen due to his career approaching its end. Without David Ortiz, this team never would have come close to winning a World Series. I give the man his due: he's one of the game's top clutch hitters ever. This is why he's heading to the hall-of-fame. No David Ortiz on that team & the Curse of the Bambino is still going strong.

I understand what I'm reading is all about the Epic pain all Toronto fans go through and so they need every grain of negativity to make themselves feel better because facing the tragedy that is "Toronto", whether it's the Jays or most especially the Leafs, is too bitter to contemplate without forcing themselves to believe everyone else is rotten and/or evil. This is all Toronto fans can rely on so if it makes you feel better and helps you talk yourself off the highest ledge of the Air Canada Centre or the Rogers Center as you stare at the unforgiving pavement below..."knock yourself out". You clearly need it.

Three Red Sox Championships and Three Bruins Championships each since the last ones any Toronto team can remember seeing. READ IT AND WEEP DOC!

BTW: None of the Sox fans were ever cocky. We sure don't give ourselves championship trophies before the season like New York fans.

No David Ortiz on that team & the Curse of the Bambino is still going strong.

DUUUUUUH! You might as well say no selling of the "Babe" by Harry Frazee no curse...or...no roided up Clemens no World Series champs in Toronto...so long ago. What's your point? It happened, Ortiz was there, Clemens cheated. Have the Jays given back the trophies Doc. DUH!

Anytime the rouge hose finish dead last in the AL East is a wonderful thing.

AGAIN. Traditionally this is the best any Toronto fan can hope for. What a fanbase.

All I was going to say today is the young Sox starters have been beginning to show some consistent pitching strength...you know, talk actual baseball instead of crying like you. Then I caught the annual Toronto Whine Fest stroking their pain with the usual...well, at least others suck worse than us. What a fan base when that's the best you've got. P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C to the MAX!!!

Cry on boys,

Thanks for easily proving my point that Boston fans are responsible for putting a huge target onto themselves & why they're among some of the most arrogant & hated fans in professional sports.

p.s. Iggy, i will collect my winnings when we meet up at the next party. I was once again correct! :D

Dont 4get he has already been linked to steroids and another list is due out soon after the arrests last week. It would not surprise me if he is "officially" (like people dont already know lol) named soon, eliminating any chance at the HALL.

Doc, you are once again Bang On! The last 3 rouge hose seasons were Worst to first to WORST and proves three things:

1) Suckfest (followed by silence)

2) Extremely lucky with that bunch of average talented misfits along with horrible yet lucky management (followed by arrogance)

3) Back to business as usual, see #1 (followed by more silence, it really and truly is a bee-uuuu-T-full thing)

Doc, you know when and where brother ;) but I think we are even now after last week, no?

In other awesome news, a man named Michael is back for the Yanks tonight. I bet you he wont have any pine tar on him either  Not sure he should make his first start back in THAT homer friendly park against THAT great hitting team but the Yanks do need a win and he is the best option right now I suppose.

PS. I think we should start a "come back to the baseball thread rumples" petition. His insight on the "Debacle in Beantown" this season would benefit many fans across the world. I have nothing against the guy as long as he does not make personal insults or personal attacks against other members here. C'mon Rumps, we want you back brother!

I wholeheartedly agree! Our friend known here as Rumples sure picked the wrong year to stay away from the baseball thread. I also wish he'd be back to share his baseball mind with the rest of the baseball-loving merb community. "We want Rumples!" "We want Rumples!" "We want Rumples!" :thumb:

p.s. Yankees lost again.
