Holliday's sources: Price out until 2016

My sources in Mtl tell me that Carey Price will be out at least until after the holidays. Don't believe a word Therrien or Bergevin tells the media. They're liars. They're such a bunch of f#*# liars that they're still avoiding questions in regards to Price's exact injury, sticking to their 'lower body' talking points. They treat the media and their fans like a bunch of kids in kindergarten! Yet forget that its these same fans that are paying they're huge salaries!

As i told you guys all along, the team finally came clean and announced that star goalie (a.k.a. "The Franchise) Carey Price will be out of action for a minimum of 6 weeks. You heard it here first, folks! :D

Aren't you lucky you get your real news on Merb?

p.s. I've heard it often. I should definitely have my own blog! ;)

Watch lyin' Bergevin talk to the media about Carey Price's injury:

Softball questions again. As if he'd admit they rushed Price back into action too soon!

He insists on treating the media & the fans like children. "It's a lower body injury". We all know it's a right knee injury, Bergie! :D

p.s. Looks like Bergie had a rough weekend! Unshaven, hair all messed up, sunken eyes, etc. Did he attend the next VIP-5 party and i didn't hear about it?

One of my sources just told me that he found out last month that Price's problems were more than knee problems. He also had hip and groin problems on top of the knee problem, which caused him to miss 3 weeks. But he agreed with me that this time around, he's out because of his right knee.

Carey Price is growing old right before our eyes!!!

Two of my other sources have also confirmed what i had been saying all along: that Mr. Price will eventually require knee surgery, which will likely mean at least three months of rehab. Which is why the team decided to gamble and hope for the best. He could have underwent the surgery now and try to be back for the playoffs (if they do make the playoffs). But there was no guarantee he'd even be in 'game shape' by then. So he'll be out for 6 weeks and then they'll ease him back in. Unless that idiot Therrien plays him in every game, that is!

Hard times for the habs. With Price and Gallagher out, they've struggled. Tokarski and Condom have done a decent job, but they've gone back to their old habits in the fact they barely score anymore. Markov has struggled mightily and P.K. has been ordinary all season. Will Marc Bergevin be proven right in the fact he did not want to grant him an 8-year/$72 million contract? I say yes. Max Paccioretty and Alex Galchenyuk were expected to lead the team in scoring this season and have struggled mightily. Nathan Beaulieu has been very inconsistent. Dale Wiese was putting the puck in the net earlier on, but has went back to being....Dale Wiese.

Speaking of Beaulieu, he and Christian Thomas were recently caught partying with a couple of beauties until the wee hours of the morning. They were outed by a popular local paparazzi site dedicated to the habs. This is a no-no if you want remain a member of the habs unless you're a superstar. So Bergevin got rid of Christian Thomas in order to send a message to the rest of the young players on the team. I expect him to make another trade very soon. There's also rumours flying around that Michel Therrien isn't seeing eye-to-eye with Galchenyuk. As i've been saying since last spring, don't be surprised if Galchenyuk gets traded this season. His progress has been way too slow, and many are not crazy with his arrogant attitude and the fact family members are way too involved with his career decisions.

Many were surprised at the recent carousel of players being called up to the team. I'm not. It serves a purpose, which is to showcase the organization's top talent in order to entice other general managers in making a trade with the habs. I also believe that Jared Tinordi's days are counted. Carey Price and Brendan Gallagher should be back sometimes next month, but there's no guarantee no one else will get hurt. It should be an interesting second half!

Kassian traded?

Several of my sources have told me that Zack Kassian will likely be traded either today or tomorrow. Edmonton or SJ are the rumoured destinations.

I'm sure the habs wouldn't mind bringing back heart n' soul Brandon Prust, who was traded to Vancouver for Kassian. But i'd be surprised Vancouver would want to take Kassian back. The Canucks were literally doing cartwheels around the GM's office on the day they managed to find a taker for Kassian. But could the habs entice the Canucks by adding a draft pick or a prospect?

My guess is that Vancouver wants nothing to do with Kassian. So he's likely going somewhere else.

In other news, i'm hearing that the Nashville Predators are considering moving the great Shea Webber in order to upgrade the team at the forward positions. Could they find a suitor in the Edmonton Oilers? How about the Pittsburgh Penguins? Could Crosby or Malkin be in play? Only time will tell.

Just for fun, if you're the Montreal Canadiens and the Preds offer you Webber and Pekka Rinne for PK Subban and Carey Price, what would you do? My guess is that the habs would have to add a forward to make the deal possible, but who knows.

(Personally if i'm the habs, i jump at the chance to rid myself of Subban's ridiculously high contract and i get the better player in Webber. Plus the fact Pekka Rinne may be better than Price.)

Maybe Kassian is part of the supposed deal they have for Wayne Simmonds for a bag of pucks like most hans fans seem to think they can get for players  Remember this Montreal fans, "It takes quality to get quality in return"

I know every teams fanbase overrates their players but never have i seen that stronger than Mtl fans in general.

Good observation. A buddy of mine thinks it's because they are either very misinformed, or maybe the average habs fans aren't the smartest bunch. Who knows. But most habs fans i know are quite knowledgeable, but will only speak the truth about their team when they are one-on-one with me. They are the total opposite on social media.

If you want my opinion, the average habs fan lives in a bubble. One big giant bubble! :eyebrows:

By the way, the habs have been trying to obtain Wayne Simmonds for nearly a month now. But they don't want to give up the players Ron Hextall wants, Brendan Gallagher being one of them. Now Gallagher has become an untouchable since he's been out. Has a player ever become an untouchable while being out injured??

It can only happen in Montreal, Doc!!!

Too bad for Gallagher he already signed his multiyear contract. His value went up sky-high while he was out injured, yet he won't make a penny more. At least he should be reassured he likely won't get traded for another couple of years. Now he's got people wondering if he's not more valuable to the team than Carey Price.

Kassian traded?

Several of my sources have told me that Zack Kassian will likely be traded either today or tomorrow. But the question is where? Edmonton or SJ are the rumoured destinations.

My sources rarely deceive me and they were right again! :thumb:

The Montreal Canadiens traded forward Zack Kassian to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for goalie Ben Scrivens, both clubs announced Monday morning.

Sources told ESPN.com that the Oilers retained 24 percent of Scrivens' salary and cap hit.

Kassian had recently completed time in the NHL-NHLPA's Substance Abuse and Behavorial Health Program, and his future in Montreal seemed in doubt.

The Oilers hope Kassian, 24, will respond in what may be his last chance to make it in the NHL. For now, he will report to Edmonton's AHL farm team.

Scrivens was expected to be the backup goaltender for the struggling Canadiens in Tampa on Monday night. The Habs have lost nine of their 11 games so far in December, the prolonged injury absence of superstar goalie Carey Price being fully felt.

Scrivens went unclaimed on waivers before the season after being beat out for the No. 2 job in Edmonton by Anders Nilsson. He went 2-6-1 with Edmonton's AHL affiliate in Bakersfield with a 3.47 goals-against average and .893 save percentage.

Does Ben Scrivens' arrival in Montreal signify that Carey Price may be out longer than expected?

The deal also indicates that they practically gave away for next-to-nothing heart n' soul Brandon Prust to the Vancouver Canucks when they traded him for Cassian. Cassian wound up not even playing a single game for the habs. What a terrible trade that was!!!! Other than re-signing Jeff Petry and acquiring Tomas Fleischmann on waivers, GM Marc Bergevin hasn't had a very solid year. Semin was a big mistake. Re-signing Tomas Plekanec for another two years at $6 million per may be a mistake. I'm okay with Markov, while others are not. I don't have an opinion on Paul Byron, a marginal NHL player if at that. What exactly did Bergevin do to improve the team from last year's??? By getting rid of the heart n' soul of the team (Prust) who would be the one standing in the dressing room right now and getting in players' faces???

Will the habs miss the playoffs?? As things stand today, it has become a very real possibility!

Maripier Morin & Brandon Prust must have been smiling this morning when they heard news of the trade.

Doc, can't wait for the next installment of the Habs / Bruins rivalry...Perhaps the NHL can rename the event the Winter Classic Massacre at Foxborough!

Same here. I also can win a lot of $$$ if the Bruins wind up winning that game. Go Bruins! :thumb:

Habs lose 3-1

Same problem: can't score goals. Same story: Subban is the king of giveaways and took too many stupid penalities. Same story: the so-called "leaders" like Pacioretty played terribly.

But Ben Scrivens was fantastic and were it not for him, the score could have been 8-1. Jaromir Jagr, the future hall-of-famer Montreal didn't want last season when he expressed his wish to play for them, had a brilliant game. He's 44 years old!!!!!

Montreal has lost 11 out of 13 games. Terrible team. Boston beat Ottawa tonight. The outdoor game on the 31st should be a great one....once it stops raining, that is. Go Bruins! :thumb:
