I would not b surprise if McDAVID is suspended for his elbow hit in the face/JOHANSSON....he left the game and did not return....no penalty on the ice....BUT quite sure it will b reviewed.....anyway 2g1ass in a big 5-3 win vs MINN.
That’s why a buddy of mine called me yesterday to complain that the NHL referees are absolutely terrible (which i’ve been saying all along). I didn’t know what he was referring to & he replied “didn’t you see what Mcdavid did in last night’s game?” I didn’t watch watch the game. Lol

He was definitely frustrated by the holding and grabbing and he lashed out in retaliation. BTW McDavid had 15 penalty minutes last night after only amassing 14 all season before last night. He was very frustrated and couldn't deal with it any more. Honestly he should have just fought Garland, dropped the gloves and told him "let's go!"

Both McDavid and Myers will face an hearing for cross checking to the head on the the same séquence.

I think McDavid got a free pass for his "Mark Messier" chicken wing on Johansson, but not this time!

Sens beat the Devils 2-1
Goals came from the sticks of Artem Zub(19 goals out of 271 games played) and Zack Ostapchuk (1 goal out of 39 games)

Now they are chasing Tampa Bay!

Oilers and Wash tomorrow without McD, could be tense. Figured Myers should have got more than McD though.
The NHL sent a message to McDavid that if he behaves like a goon, he will be treated like a goon. McDavid allowed his frustration to get the best of him and I expect lots of teams to continue to do what Garland was doing to him because it worked, it got his head off his game. Adding to his frustration is that he is 5th in the points race, Draisaitl is ahead of him and when you are suspended 3 games in a tight points race it is very hard to keep up with guys like MacKinnin, Draisaitl and Kucherov. Draisaitl is bigger than McDavid is so it's harder to pull and grab him, so that is why McDavid is targeted.

1. Predictions for the upcoming season:

I think the upcoming season will be very competitive, with some rising teams showing significant improvement. Star players might dominate, but we could also see some unexpected underdog victories.

2. Thoughts about an expansion:

An expansion could bring fresh talent and opportunities into the league. It would be exciting to see new teams, but the logistics and balance of the competition will be crucial to address.

I disagree. I think there are still too many bad teams in the league & too many bad players. If there’d be NHL talent wastimg away in the minors I’d understand however there are too many non-NHL players already playing in the league right now. All expansion would do is dilute the talent pool further & that would damage the current product even more. I believe there are already too many teams in the NHL & the season is way too long.

Devils Induct Jacques Lemaire Into Ring of Honor:
Apparently, he was an excellent offensive player in the minors before becoming a great defensive forward in the NHL. While I regard him an extremely intelligent in finding ways to win at hockey, both as a player and coach, he ruined hockey as a spectator sport for me with his introduction of the Trap to the NHL.

One pays for entertainment and I find nothing entertaining in the Trap, Chip and Chase, blocking the middle in front of the goalie, shot blocking and cycling along the boards. I've seen films of hockey pre-60s in which the goalie had a glove only slightly bigger than a baseball mit, rather than the butterfly net currently used.

Lemaire is by no means the only one who has made watching more than a few minutes of hockey intolerably boring for me, but if I had to choose on whom to lay the blame, he would top the list.

853 games played, 835 points! 974 points in 998 games if you include his playoffs. Not bad for a defensive forward!
For sure his system with the Devils was shit to watch but he had the perfect line-up to develop it to near perfection.

I have pretty vivid memories of the Devils-Red Wing final series for the 1995 Stanley Cup, in which Lemaire's Devils stunned the heavily favored Red Wings in a 4 game sweep using the neutral zone trap. It was an extremely lopsided series.that was the first Stanley Cup championship for New Jersey as they were buoyed by the efforts of Conn Smythe MVP Claude Lemieux and goalie Martin Brodeur. Lemieux was developed by Montreal as a young player before he came to the Devils. I think Jacques Lemaire liked him.
