Having met HM in person, I don't see him as either "woke" or a "troll". He has the appearance of a guy who looks like he belongs at a Metallica concert or a video game convention. Other than monopolizing one escort's time in a private bedroom at the Good Girls 2 party in 2013 (when he was a newbie on the scene), which angered some of his peers, his behavioral record has been fairly solid since then, that we know of. He actually worked security at a number of industry parties, protecting MERB members against would be troublemakers of the world, while giving up some of his freedom to canoodle with escorts at the party. Perhaps he should be thanked for these efforts, even if he was paid for them. I do recall him at one party at Lord Berri spotting a stalker of the party who turned out to be a perv neighbor of the agency owner at that time. Not sure he would have harmed anyone, but this was a suspicious character who was identified and controlled due to the efforts of HM.

I find HM somewhat likeable in person. Sort of like the big dog who gets in your face a bit but means well and just wants a little attention.

Mike!
Good luck body!

I work in one of those "essential" fields so I have my ear to the ground on what the government is planning.
To get back to HM's original point:
Bye bye...indeed.
My reliable sources tell me that as of Sunday we are going back to complete lockdown with a 10pm curfew.
But don't quote me on that...
Happy New Year!

I am hearing the same from a reliable source in Montreal, although I don't live in Montreal.

At least Legault is allowing everyone the freedom to celebrate Christmas so as to avoid being seen in the same light as this guy:

Not yet. Our Covid hospitalizations have quadrupled in the last month but our Governor (Lamont) has issued statements indicating he will be resistant to lockdowns. We will need to see what happens. The restaurant industry in CT was hammered by Covid but from what I observed many restaurants, especially the ones that survived, adapted. I think things would need to get a lot worse for there to be a lockdown here, but that could happen.

I think the American mentality is much more resistant to lockdowns, however, in the past 2 years businesses including my own have greatly adapted to doing business remotely and virtually. Apart from that many citizens seem to tie lockdowns to unlawful or improper restraints on personal liberty. American history teaches that we are very, very resistant to that going back to the Revolutionary War. The State Motto of New Hampshire is "live free or die" and somehow Covid and lockdowns and masks have stirred these emotions in many Americans, although it's a health epidemic, and not political reasons or a political enemy, that are threatening these liberties.

I love New Hampshire too. Used to live there.
We need more of that freedom-loving American spirit here too. Covid is a health crisis but it's become political and splits along Left vs. Right lines.
You can't blame some people for being skeptical when it seems like Branch Covidians want to keep this going indefinitely and impose their tyrannical will on our basic freedoms.
I know the pandemic is real but over here we are going into full panic mode over a variant that so far appears to have little more than basic cold symptoms.

i still keep a TINY hope that THIS is the "goutte qui va faire deborder le vase" , even tough i said it for the curfew and vaccine pass etc before. How much more will they take? I dunno... Hopefully THIS is the one too many thing.

Did anyone get the impression they are going to back off on the passport ? I heard the opposite.

Agreed... But look who is in power? Fidel Trudope a Socialist. Canada has far too many Liberal/Socialist lovers. Many covidians benefited a lot from the lockdowns like the $2000 CERB to sit home, work from home, etc... For panic mode, I blame the media for this, they are in 24/7 constant repetitive doomsday messaging mode.

I just watched the Legault press conference and honest to God, I thought Legault was gonna announce severe covid measures today..like shutting down everything, curfew, etc...

But thank God, it wasn't the case!
Yep indeed good news... But that can change especially if cases keep on going up. Looks like Lego is playing Santa Clause for Xmas but I can guarantee he will impose a lockdown after New Years.

Most likely, he's saving that for after Xmas so as not to ruin it for them with the news.

I honestly hope we don't have another curfew. That was pure ass last time...and all because of ppl that don't do what they're supposed to and end up going out, partying, spreading the virus, etc.

But it could happen just to keep people in check for New Years. That's usually when ppl go crazy partying, so would make sense if it happens.
