More than 700 deaths in Saudi Arabia during the pilgrine.
Religion is supposed to save you, not kill you !

More than 1000 deaths in Saudi Arabia !
Remember the big heath wave in France in 2003 that killed close to 15 000 persons, climate change already ?

Now it's been reported that over 1300 are dead and about 100 remain hospitalized. During this year's pilgrimage temperatures reached 120 degree F in Mecca.

And that's the temperature in the shade ! Crazy to hold the pilgrimage in those conditions and even more to attend it !
I stopped being slave of religion in primary school when they teached that if the worst criminal asked for pardon to God just before his death, he would go to Paradise !

Why you won't be seeing snow crabs at the buffet anytime soon...

For those living on planet earth, Los Angeles will see the temperature reaching 45°C today, a new record.
A large percentage of USA have seen extreme heat periods this summer.

I sure wish the climate change would take effect around here, not ideal summer for a long time.

Good luck man with climat change!
Canada and USA annonced 100% tarif on Chinese EV. If there is no competition, the price of EV remains high, who can afford them? So the majority of the population will keep their old combustion cars.
Tell me that the governments cares about climat chages? LOL.

I don't see anything wrong with that. If it can keep crapy quality products from flooding the market... good.
We got enough poorly made crap coming in from China already. Creating a low cost vehicles from a country with the worst approach to quality control really isn't something that should be allowed in the first place.

Heat? Pretty sure one of the coolest summers I can remember except for the +40 heatwave we had a couple of months ago.

Where were you in June ? Quebec had two heat waves confirmed by Environment Canada.
July and August were normal or close, not winter underwear needed ! More rain certainly.

Was here in June, after that the summer has not been great, warmer out west as they have 30 now with mornings at 20, I wake up here at 8 and it goes to 20ish. Not summer weather IMO.

The public should decide if they want to buy a made in China EV or not. At the end it is the public that will pay for these types of protectionist policies. It will mean much higher prices for EVs. It will impact the poor the most. Given the choice between a cheap EV and taking the bus, it might be preferable to get a cheap EV. Again such decisions are personal and should be left to the individual, not the state. A tariff is a tax.

We have a responsibility to control the quality and impacts of the products we allow in our markets. Just because something can be made cheaply doesn't mean we should encourage it. Chinese-made products often have a history of leaving a significant negative environmental and social footprint. This is largely due to skipped regulatory measures, allowing them to produce at lower costs and flood markets with basement-priced goods. Instead, we should prioritize quality solutions that align with higher standards, both for the environment and for the people involved in production.

I am not saying to encourage it but I am also not saying to discourage it. When government intervenes it is always to the detriment of the working class. All it does is it limits competition, limits the choice the customer has and they end up paying more and not always for the better. Just as an example, for every product there is a low quality option and a high quality option. Take for example ketchup, one can buy the Heinz brand from your local supermarket or buy a cheap no name brand Ketchup from the Dollar store. Sure the price difference will be significant, but the difference in taste will be equally significant. Even the quality of the ingredients will be very different. I experimented with canola oil, hairgel and it just was not the same. But ultimately the free market will decide. There is demand for both. Some choose to buy cheap things while others choose quality things. Quality or cheap, it should be the customer who decides, not the government. It is kind of like when the STCUM planned to order the new metros, government favored Bombardier for the contract vs companies from other countries like Alstom who were able to produce the same product if not better for cheaper. Bombardier is an example of a poor company due to government favoritism. A lot of their products got flaws and they are consistently behind schedule on delivery. But I mention this only to point out how government intervening to favoring one over another is always to the detriment to the public. One last thing, these tariffs is nothing but political theater to score votes. Both Progressives and Conservatives are doing it and both are wrong. They are not doing it for the benefit of the public while they rake in millions with tariffs.
