I compare the virus to a train, it cannot stop quickly, it has its momentum.

In any case, Biden is doing a lot more to slow the pandemic. He is a leader and he proves it by taking action.

It will always be Trump's fault.
If he had recognized the virus early on, who knows, but it's certain that there will not have been 450,000 deaths so far.

As many have said when you're moron one day, you're moron forever.

When Trump was there, every country laughed at USA except the dictator presidents.

I don't know if 4 years is enough to erase all the Trump bullshit.

Look behind you.
So this gives Biden a freebie when the virus does not go away as planned, he is supposed to so great. Not sure if you have ever had to revamp a job because it is falling apart by others, when someone has a task to figure out a way to fix a problem that is new to everyone the wrong steps are already known, easy to eliminate those steps, easy to look at what others have done successfully and implement the procedures. Yes Trump is at fault for not doing the same but putting Biden on a pedestal for mimicking others while many Facebook warriors would have done the same thing, really. Look at worldwide deaths per million, the US is not at the top.
Small clip I found.
That is a sobering reality, but it does not make the United States the worst-performing nation in the pandemic, as some critics have suggested.

Dividing the U.S. proportion of the global number of deaths by the U.S. proportion of the global population produces a result of 4.93 (21.03 divided by 4.26 = 4.93).

Doing the same calculation for the 18 countries worldwide that are reporting the highest numbers of deaths blamed on COVID-19, finds that seven are doing worse than the United States, while ten are doing better:

Another article about the Dems flip flop on the virus, they had no clue what to do either.

I’m not sure people are putting Biden on a pedestal, really, I do think this. I think people are just saying Trump is really, really, really bad.

You mentioned 20 names, I am glad you were smart enough to leave Biden off, it seems you did think about this and not just come up with names out of the blue.

BTW. good thing you didn’t put Boris on that list as the deaths per 1 million in the UK are actually worse than in the US. US = 1430, UK = 1651, but yes of course somehow that must be Trumps fault, but be sure to give Biden credit once all the fans can go back to watching cricket in person again.

What a bunch of horse shit, we all know which way Facebook leans. No more freedom of speech just " Here, this is what you should know because we say it is correct ".

Facebook bans misinformation about vaccines and COVID-19 to battle conspiracy theories (msn.com)
I think facebook is doing the right thing. Misinformation should not be tolerated during a pandemic where people are dying and near death. There are too many stupid people posting and reposting idiocy online without doing their own fact checking and even dumber people believing the stuff they read.. And that's not just covid related.. We are talking about idiotic Qanon conspiracy theories etc as well. Social media reaches and influences a disproportionate amount of people and shapes opinions that are nonsensical and this needs to stop.

Look behind you.
But we all know facebook is pro left wing and will follow any agenda they have, should be a non biased separate entity that does that.
With Facebook all the negatives about the vaccine and there are some will never be known. Shake my head when people agree with shit like this.

Articles like this would be hidden away which is wrong to do.

It seems now that border crossing requirements are getting tightened even more, with proof of a negative test upon land entry (within last 72 hours) and self isolation being imposed, and then administration of a second negative test during a visit.

I think it’s highly probable most of us will not be booking with James or Sam in 2021. I was feeling a little optimistic last couple weeks, but I’m not seeing any daylight here. It’s unfathomable that most Merbites will have gone two years without a trip north of the border when all is said and done.

Interesting analogy as always. I was thinking in the other direction. Maybe I'm thinking way to positively, but I looked at the border testing as a beginning to an eventual opening. USA is still cranking out way too many new cases and deaths to even think about opening the border. But as more and more people catch Covid and survive, along with people getting vaccinated maybe it gets to a point where both countries feel more comfortable about opening up or not. In NY just yesterday Governor Cuomo announced opening sporting events to a 10% capacity with certain rules in place, one of which is a negative Covid test. This is happening next week. This is at least a start at getting back to normal and may be the way countries start opening up again. I was thinking the borders had a shot at opening up during the past summer and that clearly didn't happen. Going forward, maybe showing a form that you've been vaccinated along with a negative test might be the way we get back to the new way of traveling without having to quarantine. If not, I'll just put my vaccinated ass on my Harley and drive around upstate NY like I did last year (minus the vaccine).

Hey I sure hope you’re right. I’m just not sharing your optimism. The variants have me more concerned than anything, and governments leaning on being extra cautious. But I hope you are correct. The other thing is I don’t know if I want to fight my way into a bar like McLeans or Hurley’s if it must be no more than 25% capacity

And driving your cycle upstate is a good alternative. Matter of fact, I’ve been tempted myself to drive upstate early in morning, see some old work friends, hit a bar for poutine and a couple Bloody Caesars and then drive back and book Brittney at Desires of New York. I’ll pretend it’s a Montreal kind of day.

A lot can happen between now and end of 2021, so perhaps border crossings will become less restrictive. But if Fauci et al are talking about not having normalcy until late fall, then I’d extrapolate from that we’re not crossing border without crazy restrictions until after that. Who knows. Hope you’re right

Another great point. Let's say your able to enter the country with proof of vaccination, negative Covid test, etc. Is it all for nothing if you can't grab a beer at your favorite bar or a meal at your favorite restaurant? Basically going from one lock down to another. I do go to Montreal for the girls, first and foremost, but I like to kill time in between encounters by going out and about town. If not, are we just flying in and leaving the hotel room only when it's time to bang?

You nailed it. My last trip to Montreal was Oct 2019. I took up my recently-divorced cousin and we had a blast bar hopping and checking out live music. Matter of fact, James hooked us with Annabelle (my girl) and Heaven (his girl) on a Saturday late afternoon and we took them to the hotel bar beforehand and just had a blast with them for nearly an hour before going up to our rooms. If you remove things like that, then you might as as well book an hour at an NYC or NJ agency.

It’s chatting with the folks at McLeans over Bloody Caesars and brunch, seeing live music at Hurley’s at midnight and going out for a good steak that makes the whole experience worth it. Sitting in a room between appointments is a waste, and I don’t want to roam the city hoping some bar will allow me inside.

Clearly Israel is doing the best, in terms of tackling the crisis in a manner that attempts to cure the disease and getting its citizens vaccinated, in comparison to the political bickering and/or the hide in your house from the virus approach.
