on the grocery store thing
last night 2 local big grocerie stores jammmed packed and today a girlfriend of mine called to say stores same thing today either shelves empty or stores packed

my local grocery store on Parc (P.A.) was jammed with people until past 9pm last night emptying the shelves....people in montreal are officially in panic mode.

I heard about people hording stuff pre catastrophy on tv and stuff, and always found it rediculous. But last night when i saw people emtying out the shelves it made me nervous. It made me feel like I should get stuff before everybody else gets stuff!

Yep - went in there around 4:30pm to get some bread and it was nuts. Went up to the Provigo at Jean Talon and Parc... pretty crazy there too. People buying water. Why? The taps will continue to flow with water.

Going to go out for groceries this morning as I don't want to stand in a 2 hour line this evening...

I went Online today, and Ordered Groceries for Delivery.
The Next Available Date is Sunday...a 2 Day wait.

Asian wet markets are responsible for starting the vast majority of major world pandemics in the last 1000 years.
Wild animals from 5 different continents are kept in cages side by side and butcher side by side. This is not how natured meant it to be. Viruses are spread between different species and mutate and infect humans with novel corona viruses. This insults nature and maybe nature is taking revenge. The owners of these markets should be put in cages with vampire bats and left to rot.

On another note the World Health Organization has ruled that dogs don`t carry the coronavirus and thus should be let free from isolation.

My firm closed its doors today.

We also had a new employee from the UK who was supposed to start in our Montreal office and his flight was yesterday @ 1pm. Our Security team found out that his gf was being tested for the virus. Today a good buddy of mine texted me "i hope there will still be a few Euphoria girls around when i'll be in Mtl next month". I told him that i posted something about this on merb the other day, where i recommended that the girls and the agencies start policing themselves for a while since it's very easy to infect someone else with this virus. Trust me. Trump DID NOT get tested. If he did get tested he likely tested positive since why else not publicize it? But as the days go by more & more people are very upset with his irresponsible attitude towards this since it seems everyone he's come into contact with since CPAC is now testing positive or being told to go into self quarantine. The big problem with this particular virus is that even though many people who contracted it are now healthy again they were left with scars on their lungs and damage to their kidneys and other vital organs. And there is still no clue if you can get infected again & get sick from it again.

And you're correct: people who show barely any symptoms of this virus although they may be infected are a problem since they do not get tested and keep on uknowingly contaminating people they come into contact with.

And finally, many are hoping not to contract it until a vaccine comes out. But the likely earliest date for a vaccine is in 2021 and to be honest.....there is no guarantee that a vaccine will even happen. They still haven't even figured out a vaccine for the common cold and there's no gurantee of any vaccine for anything.

But the diet has been a starvation diet. You would eat the ass-end of a skunk if hungry enough. I've never been to a wet market over there but I do remember picking out my fish. I was told that they don't have proper refrigeration and that it was so you can see what you were actually buying. This is undoubtedly true about the west markets as well. Yes, this has to change but understand that it seems like many foods in China an other parts of the world were based on a dare but in fact, people would go hungry if not starve to death. This has to change. They need to do something about the wet markets and have soap as well as sinks in bathrooms and stop defecating on railroad tracks etc.

Maybe so Cloudsurf. To be sure they do have some exotic tastes. Maybe this stems from a willingness to try things because they have a history of starving? I was just telling you what some Chinese colleagues told me. I could be wrong or I could of heard it wrong. The willingness to try exotic food - at least some of it anyway - stems from the fact that much of their diet is a starvation diet and they were hungry. Remember Mao's Great Leap Forward? People were starving in China prior to the instituting capitalistic principles which even the Chicoms agree put food on the table. Seems like even before communism they were starving. My mom would serve supper and if I didn't eat it my parents would say "They are starving in China." I was also told by my colleagues that they don't have enough refrigeration so that is one reason for the live animals. I know that they had big fish tanks at the restaurants. We pick our lobsters in the states so..... Also, they serve the entire fish. I was told that this was because people want to see that what they are eating because there is a tendency to sell you one kind of fish and substitute another. So the tanks are due to lack of refrigeration and so you can see the product. They serve the entire fish so you can see the product.
