When you listen to Lamont he doesn't sound like he can pass that definition, but I have to say most of his decisions have been pretty good and our State's numbers look pretty good. I think he and Cuomo get along well, talk on a regular basis and have healthy exchanges of ideas. One sore point for Lamont is the fast reopening of the CT casinos, which he had no legal power to stop since they are sovereign nations that can do whatever the hell they please. While Lamont bitched and moaned endlessly in the local medias and urged CT residents to refrain from going to the Casinos (a call I have heeded- the only thing I miss is the food there), some have seen his message as hypocritical because of the colossal amount of money the State of CT gets from the casinos (25% of their revenue). That money is MUCH NEEDED at this time so the issue of Lamont's criticism of the quick reopening was somewhat awkwardly received.

How about the CT and NJ governors also being invited to the summit you are proposing? Since they have acted in unison with Cuomo on Coronvirus rules and making them uniform in the Tristate area, which was initially the hardest hit area in the USA, but is now showing the most improvement. I think you need to show Ned Lamont some love.

https://ici.radio-canada.ca/nouvelle/1715123/texas-deconfinement-reouverture-economie-coronavirus-covid-19-augmentation-cas

Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced on Thursday new measures to curb and manage the epidemic in his state, including putting the next steps to reopening businesses on ice.

Texas was one of the first states to revive economic activity after the nationwide containment was imposed.
A decision that the Democrats also blame the Republican governor, whose state is experiencing a marked upsurge in COVID-19.

If Republican governors start to think human. OUACH Trump.

That quarantine is the stupidest f’ing Thing. Even Cuomo couldn’t properly explain it and just continued on with his comical little sparring with his brother. I’ll still take Andrew over the knitwitt who is running Texas, now he decides to tell people to stay home. Who will drink @ the bars and live music venues in Austin and Houston?

Desantis in Florida just got dropped on his head many, many times

There is an obvious connection of course. In order to do better you should go through the worst first… i.e. build a substantial layer of immune people.

There is still not a substantial amount of immune people enough to account for the tristate’s success, it’s not a ton of immune people, which accounts for their low #’s

I am lazy to look for the exact reference, but I read that 20% of immune people slows spread dramatically because this 20% usually include the most mobile people. There is now data that 10 times more people show signs of the past infection than tested positive. Multiply positive tests in NYC by ten and you will have more than 20%

I don’t understand all those #’s u put up? If people in that tri state area of NY/NJ/CT stop wearing masks and start caring less about social distancing the #’s shouldn’t go up then?

I noticed that we are almost the only ones who don't respect the government directives?

I believe that 38-40% of the deaths in the tri state area were senior citizens in nursing homes and they really didn’t need to die that way. Nursing home patients that tested Positive for Covid 19 were sent back from The hospitals to their nursing homes and the nursing homes just weren’t prepared to isolate them correctly. Then the disease spread like crazy.

I just had the Covid Test done at a drive through Covid Specimen Collection Station in CT. Apparently they are no longer doing the deep nasopharyngeal swab. The Covid technician told me the new test was easy and "I was in luck." She took a cotton swab and stuck it into each nostril about a half inch and then swirled it around the walls of the nostrils as if she was mixing a drink. Kind of tickled actually. Not painful and not even uncomfortable. Ticklish. I will get results tomorrow. This is a mandatory test as I am having a minor medical procedure done on Monday.

Can you imagine how great it would be if a daily dose of cannibis was the cure by preventing entry of the virus.

Therapeutics are coming along nicely, but there is obviously a lot if risk once someone gets the virus, and vaccines are still a ways off, obviously.

The goddamn hilarity that would ensue if daily cannabis saved the world and the police/military had to guard and protect the valuable marijuana and hemp crops that were put into emergency production would be priceless. Trump and Fauci smoking pot during the press conference as encouragement while Pence looks on and deeply frowns would be the kick-off.

i (unknowingly) have been part of the phase 3 trials for this treatment. will let you know how it works out.

Look behind you.
^^^^^^ Up2 . About the news reporting. Not sure how it is reported in Quebec but all we get in Alberta with their daily snapshot is new cases and deaths. What is not mentioned ( unless you dig on your own ) is the age group of the positive cases, if the positive cases had symptoms, how many if any required hospitalization, how mant tests were done to find 50 new cases.
The medias still run with fear, they post articles with doom and gloom and rarely highlight a positive be it with the virus, climate change, now we have the BLM rearing its head in Canada. The BLM had a rally in Innisfail Alberta FFS, a very small town. An article today about the possible mutation had a picture of a bus full of people all on full BIO PPE gear.. Really!

I have nothing against cannabis, except for the smell, especially the one that smells of skunk.
I live in a condo complex. We voted against the consumption of cannabis, unless it's used therapeutically (capsules, oil whatever but no unpleasant odors).

Yes I imagine Trump and Fauci smoking cannabis. They who aren't on the same page about the coronavirus, and there with the pot, Trump wanting to hug Fauci in his arms, and Fauci with a relaxed face, answer him "Donald yes, if you have a mask"

I suspect many Covid-19 survivors, especially those who were on ventilators, might be prescribed cannabis for pain management and other conditions. Heck, I'd smoke weed if doing so would help immunize me against SARS-CoV-2 :)

With the arrival of the coronavirus, the phenomenon of disinformation has come into force. There always have been.
But today more than ever groups have formed that believe the pandemic has been planned and exaggerated by the media.
There are a lot of fake news out there.

Conspiracy is everywhere.

What scares me the most is, paradoxically, the arrival of the vaccine. Even with the progress of research, the vaccine is still making headlines.
Anti-vaccines appear, having been in this area, I can guarantee that these people would probably have died from one of these diseases which no longer exist thanks to vaccines.

It’s very scary when real facts and science, even if it is reported by CNN is called made up bullshit and when people you know who are quite intelligent believe that conspiracy/liberal media/fake news bullshit spin
