Trump is a salesman. So, he lies as he breathes, and people can expect that. Fauci positions himself foremost as a scientist. For a scientist intentional lie is a mortal sin notwithstanding the motivation. If you are caught of an intentional lie in hard sciences like physics, mathematics etc. you are immediately expelled from the community. I bet he would never claim this nonsense about masks and some other stuff in a paper for a peer reviewed journal. So why lying to the general public for a political expediency is acceptable?

I somewhat agree with Fradi's criticisms of Dr. Fauci, but it was not just him but MANY in the US medical profession who misled us. As I said in late December 2019 my pulmonologist and I had a long conversation about the possible impact of Covid 19 and he told me "it will be no worse than a new strain of the flu" and not to worry about it. He was parroting what everyone else thought at the vast health network that covers much of my State.

However this is not the reason why Fauci will be fired. His firing sets him up as a fall guy, someone Trump can credibly finger point to for part of the blame. Note that I said part of the blame because I do believe the medical profession in the USA is worthy of some blame on this. Of course Fauci, expert though he is in infectious diseases, and like everyone else in the medical profession, had no experience in dealing with Covid 19. That experience is still being developed.

When this shit started, people started hoarding n-95s and surgical masks which are two different things. The n -95s protect you from someone’s koodies and them from yours. People were buying this shit up right and left and the medical personal who needed them had to use a mask which should be used once for like two weeks. Hence he said do not buy these, you have to also have them fitted towards your face for them to be effective.

With respect to the surgical masks, people started buying the shit out of these. he said they don’t protect you, they only protect someone your near if your infected. Do not buy them. You know how many people still to this day wear surgical and cloth masks thinking they are keeping themselves safe??!!

In Asian countries like Malaysia, since pore, Taiwan, if you have traveled there they wear masks left and write and pretty much had the mentality which the USA still hasn’t F’ing caught on to is if your wearing one and I’m wearing a surgical mask we are both protected

Do you really agree with this statement? It sounds more like marketing/PR than reality to me. For my upcoming trip to Maine, I have been researching websites of various cruise and tour providers. They all try to make you think they have it all figured out, that their operation is totally Covid 19 proof, yada, yada, yada. These are mere marketing statements and platitudes for the masses, that are dispensed without any real supporting evidence.
