European Countries Reintroduce Lockdowns As Covid Cases Surge.

Covid-19 cases are rising dramatically across Europe despite a widespread vaccine rollout, with nearly two million new cases reported in the last week, the most in a single week on the continent since the pandemic began.

NBC News’ Claudio Lavanga explains which European countries are reintroducing lockdowns and what health experts in the U.S. are learning from the rise in cases.

AMSTERDAM, Nov 15 (Reuters) - Dutch hospitals are feeling the strain from a surge in COVID-19 patients but the worst has yet to come, the head of the country's hospital association said on Monday.

The number of COVID-19 patients in Dutch hospitals increased to around 2,000 on Monday, including almost 400 in intensive care, reaching the highest level since May.
With almost 250 new admissions every day, the hospitals are set to pass last winter's peak of around 2,800 coronavirus patients in little over a week, the LNAZ association’s head, Ernst Kuipers, told lawmakers.

"We haven't seen the peak yet, numbers will continue to rise," Kuipers said.

Hospitals throughout the country have been scaling back regular care for weeks in order to deal with urgent COVID-19 patients.

Hospitals in the southern province of Limburg, one of the worst-hit regions, last week even said they had no space or staff to handle more coronavirus patients.

Because there were no more sanitary restrictions.

It was as if there was no more covid.

COVID cases continue to climb, now up 22% globally and 16% in the United States with an uncertain future trajectory.

This is borne out by the relatively high proportion of deaths to apparent cases in the US. Germany, Austria and the Netherlands are seeing worrying rises in cases and deaths.

Indeed Gaby.

Austrian Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg has said the country will go into a national lockdown to contain a fourth wave of coronavirus cases.

The national shutdown will come into force on Monday, and the whole of the country’s population will also be required to get vaccinated against the disease by February.

Austria introduced a lockdown for all those who were unvaccinated on Monday but since then infections have continued to set new records.

Germany’s health minister Jens Spahn said a lockdown could not be ruled out for both the vaccinated and unvaccinated.

And also 55 dead with 1,919 hospitalizations
We have 201 hospitalizations.

Anyone that thinks vaccine passports, masks and restrictions are going anywhere are in for a surprise.

Funny, Legault was saying how in the New Year almost all restrictions would be gone.

Read what Gaby wrote:

It should still be specified that a third of the population is not vaccinated, and that health measures have taken the edge.

66% of the population is not a small number. We are only 10% more.

The more "interesting" part is what happens when you lift restrictions too quickly, even in a somewhat vaccinated population.

It will be very surprising to see if we can lift restrictions in the new year, as Legault claims, even when the 5-12 age groups are vaccinated.

Munich, Germany: The German states of Bavaria and Saxony on Friday cancelled all their Christmas markets and unveiled drastic curbs on public life as the country scrambles to contain soaring coronavirus infections.

"The situation is very, very serious and difficult," Markus Soeder, premier of the southern state of Bavaria, said as he also announced a shutdown of clubs, bars and night service at restaurants.

The eastern state of Saxony unveiled similar measures and went even further by closing all sporting and cultural venues, banning tourism, public consumption of alcohol and barring the unvaccinated from non-essential shops and hairdressers.

Ohhh well take a peek in Africa.
"Follow the science"
Now the scientists are "Mystified"??!!

Scientists mystified, wary, as Africa avoids COVID disasterhttps://apnews.com › ...

My theory is that there are lots of AK47's in Africa.
Africans are not as compliant as us weak obedient westerners so easily locked down and shot up with that vax.
Now this is the AK47's strategy, not to get vaccinated.

The countries of Africa are extremely lucky because they are very poor.

This virus is unpredictable, and dangerous.

Will see...

One thing for sure is that Africa's median age of 19.7 years is much lower than the Western world of 43.9.

(FYI - 50% of the population lies below the median.)

https://www.worldometers.info/world-population/africa-population/#:~:text=The median age in Africa is 19.7years.

Older people are much more vulnerable to the virus - see deaths by age group:

People older than 50 accounted for 93% of deaths from C19 in the US. Yes, in Africa if you're more than 50, you're considered OLD.

So...no surprise that Africa is showing less deaths from C19. They just don't have that many old people. 50% are younger than 19.7 years old.

And let's not even get into complicating conditions like obesity, diabetes or heart problems.

With new cases soaring to an all-time high of 65,371, leaders of Germany's 16 states agreed after crisis talks with Chancellor Angela Merkel to require those not immunised to provide negative tests in order to use public transport or go to the office.

To protect the most vulnerable, they also agreed to introduce compulsory vaccination for healthcare workers and employees in elderly homes.

"We need to quickly put a brake on the exponential rise" in cases and intensive care bed occupancy, Merkel said, calling the situation "highly dramatic".
