Not enough data, at this time, to determine if more deadly.

Boosted individuals show roughly the same resistance to BA.2 as original Omicron.

QUÉBEC ce jour...DUBÉ.....il n'y aura plus de conf. de presse régulière....seulement des points de presse et des communiqués....preuve que la situation est de plus en plus sous contrôle ... ..et que les élections s'en viennent.

Nouvelle de ce jour....arrêt du port du masque EN CLASSE le 7 Mars MAIS demeure obligatoire dans les aires communes.

Dubé a dit que le DR. Boileau devrait annoncer dans les prochains jours un CALENDRIER relativement à la levée de l'obligation de porter le masque pour l'ensemble de la population.....très très attendu par plusieurs.

Bref..on s'en va dans la bonne direction....MAIS faut avoir à l'oeil la résurgence du virus/BA.2 qui fait des dégâts dans certains pays notamment HONG KONG.

--Selon son estimation---basée sur des données/analyses de Ste-Justine, Université Laval et l'INESSS----3 MILLIONS de Québécois auraient contracté OMICCRON depuis sa présence dont 1 MILLION à Montréal.

-Une certaine immunité collective serait installée dans la population MAIS cette immunité est de courte durée ---8 à 12 semaines --- et la vaccination demeure essentielle pour une immunité de longue durée.

-90 % des 70 ans et plus ont reçu leur 3ème dose.....excellent pour un groupe plus à risque.

--5 % de cas reliés au variant BA.2 ont été détecté...selon lui le vaccin le combat aussi bien que OMICRON.

-NE PRÉVOIT PAS À COURT TERME DE 6ème VAGUE.

--PAS prêt MAINTENANT pour un calendrier sur le port du masque.....PRUDENCE....si la situation continue de s'améliorer ça pourrait aller vite....va garder un oeil sur l'état de nos hôpitaux ...c'est uniquement ça qui va le guider.

If we have people who have Covid, regardless of age, and then subsequently they develop a condition which disables them, temporarily or permanently — it could be a breathing disability; it could be some other symptom — what medical research is finding about Long Covid is that it may be a blood disease; it can reach into all your organs; it's not just a respiratory illness, flu, or cold. It's a substantial long-term, post-viral condition that defines Long Covid. And this mechanism is now creating folks who are disabled in some way. They could be partially disabled, meaning they can work some of the time. They could also be temporarily fully disabled for a period of time, and that's an unknown quantity.

If you have a cohort of people in the country who have disabilities that weren't there two years ago, some of them are in the labor force, say, between the ages of 15 or 16, and their late 60s or early 70s. And that cohort is in the millions of people. Some have difficulty going back to work, and others have difficulty when they do go back to work, and they have to take time off because they are ill. They are suffering from a disease, and the disease is post-viral, but it isn't visible.

When you take a chunk of people, millions of people, out of the labor force, you get a shock. Wages rise, pay levels rise. There are fewer people to do the work, so we see that in the labor force data. It's not monetary inflation from the Federal Reserve. It's payment for jobs when there aren't enough skilled people to fill them. And that only results in one thing: The economy must reprice labor at a higher level to reach some clearing equilibrium.

Generally, you get new productivity gains when you have to substitute the application of technologies for labor. Why? You don't have the people, and you have to do something, so you substitute capital investment for labor. That has huge investment implications, and stocks in certain industries, groups, and sectors perform positively as a result.

The economy has experienced a massive shock. It originates in a pandemic — they come along every 50 or 100 years, and we are ill-prepared for them, as we have been ill-prepared for this one. The last one was 1957–58 with the Asian flu, and before that it was the Spanish Flu from 1917, '18, '19, '20, and '21, although everybody thinks of that as 1918 because of John Barry's book. I might point out that in '57 and '58 a President of the United States by the name of Dwight Eisenhower immediately ordered and vaccinated 17% of the population. He vaccinated the entire military establishment, all of the defense contractors, and the government. Why? He was a general, the winner in WWII, and he knew he couldn't fight wars against enemies with a sick army. There was no anti-vax; there was no discussion akin to this political debate that is ripping apart our country. Eisenhower did it in 1957. There are precedents for such things. Unfortunately, they don't make the top of the news.

WOW..wetnose ..great statement...one of the best here...Long Covid...we don"t talk about it....BUT it's there....and lot of people are sufffering of.....thanks to remind us... ..btw...kid i got Asian flu...almost died...spent 2 weeks in my little bed....avec forte fièvre et abondants saignements de nez....heureusement my mom was there...doctor came every day BUT can't do nothing....except de prendre ma température et user des serviettes froides......TODAY WE HAVE THE TOOLS TO FIGHT SUCH DESASTER...we just have to use

QUÉBEC ce jour.....hospitalisations --23 pour un total de 1,456...faut se rappeler que y'a pas si longtemps nous étions à plus de 3,500......soins intensifs ---2 pour un total de 98.....sous le cap du 100.....5 décès.....heureusement en forte diminution ....de très bonnes nouvelles .

VACCINATION....1ère dose 91%...2ème dose 86% 3ème dose 51%....nous la gagnons cette bataille avec tous les efforts faits y compris tous les sacrifices....nous avons fait preuve d'une discipline exemplaire....BRAVO.

It's never over....la NOUVELLE ZÉLANDE qui n'avait pas été touché depuis le début de la pandémie doit maintenant le combattre avec soudainement 32,000 cas rapportés en date d'hier....n'ayant pas été touché la population ne s'était pas prémunie..BUT now it's another story....
HONG KONG fights back with 34,000 nouveaux cas en date de Lundi....city-wide lockdown is on the table......cela nous rappelle que mieux vaut mieux utiliser et CONTINUER d'utiliser les outils à notre disposition.

The way it should have been since day one. Having a nanny state is very destructive to society as we have seen. Prices gone up everywhere, excessive inflation, to name a few.

This is the ugly face of authoritarianism. The curfew served no other purpose but to control the population in the name of public health. The government still has not been able to justify (provide empirical evidence) on why they put a curfew. According to the news the health minister was looking for reasons to justify the curfew hours before they announced it. They pinned it on Horacio and threw him under the bus.
