In some European countries like Germany, some companies have beer on tap for the employees to enjoy with their lunch in the cafeteria
I had a class with an old Irish professor a few years back. Broke the stereotype by bringing wine for the last class. Anyway, told us this story of how when he was a young man and working as a night security guy in a warehouse. Didn't like his job until he found out the nearby pubs were open from 7 am to 9 am to accommodate the people on the night shift, so that made it all okay.STN, if I had to guees, I’d say that your birth country is either England or Ireland? I work with some guys from Dublin, and these guys know how to drink. For them, every night is Happy Hour...and I’m not just talking a pint or two.
Now with the twins adopting American microbrews ( Mikkeler and Evil Twin ), this is all the rage in Denmark, as well as the rest of Europe

Those strong beers they sell at convenience stores for $4.79 for 1.8 liter smell like horse pee. No thanks.
As for Oktober Fest, damn its one of my top 3 places i would like to go on a vacation..(
I was in Munich, what, 2 or 3 years ago? Off season, and the room was still wayyyyy too expensive. I'm kinda curious about the whole Oktoberfest aura, but it's not on my list. But hey, I don't like beer, so I might not be objective .It is something you should not miss, the flight from Montreal is reasonable but the cost once you get there is not cheap with the high euro. If you want to go on the low budget it can be done with planning but all the hostiles are probably full early. http://www.jugendherberge.de/en

All about them prices, man. I'd do a free Oktorberfest (or a discounted one), but Munich is just not the place I'd go back to. Now, a Polish Vodka Vacation...:whoo:Kinda like not liking metal music and not being interested in wacken festival
