Sheldon Keefe directly from the Marlies is the new one....

He was promoted because the Leafs are expecting him to do more of this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheld...r_Cup_Final_-_(06.14.18)-53_(41216020450).jpg

It was Dubas who hired Keefe with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in 2012, and again in 2015 he followed Dubas when he was made Marlies coach in 2015. See my post above (#238) in regards to Dubas bringing in one of his own guys to coach his players. Should not surprise anyone. Dubas is following the game plan I outlined in #238, to a TEE. But Keefe now has to turn things around in the next year and a half.

Yea you called it . Maybe we should have taken a future bet on Babcock being fired

As for Dumbass all he did was buy himself a bit more time . And I don’t have a problem with hiring unproven NHL coaches because sometimes it all works out . Just still not convinced that the current Leafs GM is the man for the job . All he is doing is postponing the inevitable

Look behind you.
Oilers got pounded, told a friend of mine before the game, the Oilers will lose because they are playing a low ranked team, never fails.

Not a bad night, except for the Habs every Canadian team won. Used to looking how far from the bottom the Oilers are at, now see how far from first they are, 4-2 against Vegas tonight

I bet on a parlay in games involving the Leafs & the Habs last night. I figured i was in for a long night when the Avs scored less than a minute into the game and the Habs took a 4-0 early lead against the Rangers. But the Leafs soon scored 4 consecutive goals and the Rangers came back to beat the Habs 6-5 so i ended up winning some money!!

I love the speed of both the Leafs and the Rangers. It was the first time i saw the Rangers this season and i found them impressive, especially considering they had lost in Ottawa the previous night. The Habs were fresh and ended up blowing it!

As for the Leafs i can't believe how different this team looks under Sheldon Keefe. Now i'm hearing that the large majority of the players were happy to see Babcock being replaced and it's probably no fluke that Tyson Barrie has already scored 2 goals in his last 2 games. He seems to have re-found his game and the team looks energized and highly-skilled again!

Habs lost again....5 game losing streak & people in Mtl are starting to panic. Big night for Max Domi who was put back at centre prior to the game. He had been pouting since he was put on the wing and it showed in his play and indiscipline. Carey Price seems to be back to playing like he did over the past 2-3 seasons and that's not good. He's still a very good goalie but the habs will need him so steal many games if they're going to make the playoffs.

Yep..les Leafs sous KEEFE semblent avoir retrouvé de l'entrain et le plaisir de jouer...sous BABCOCK la pression devait être énorme....very good start.....même le DG semblait s'amuser dans sa loge...

I can’t believe that the Rangers won the second game of back to back rod games after being down 4-0. I don’t even think that’s happened before. I guess the Habs thought the game was in the bag and the Rangers didn’t. It just shows you have to play 60 minutes.

Leafs are 2-0 under Sheldon Keefe. I think he might turn it around for them.

The problem Montreal has is right now Toronto and TB are not far behind them on points and I see both Toronto and TB passing Montreal in the standings eventually. Once that happens, Montreal will be in a dogfight with multiple teams for the 2 wild card spots. The only path I see for Montreal to playoffs is to secure a wild card as I just don’t see them holding off TB and Toronto on points. Then the Habs will have to fight with Pittsburgh and Philadelphia and maybe even the Rangers for a wild card. Possibly even Buffalo and Columbus. You could have 6 or 7 teams fighting for 2 spots. To me it spells Dogfight.

Montreal had been lucky so far in avoiding the injury bug. But now with Byron & Drouin out for a month it's starting to show since they're pretty thin on talent. Injuries are part of the game & there WILL be more injuries throughout the season. Carey Price hasn't been given that much rest so far & playing him more & more will only increase his chances of getting injured, which can't happen if Mtl is to make the playoffs.

As for the Leafs they're playing with fire & passion since Sheldon Keefe took over & made some lineup changes. You also see different strategies on the special teams. He'll also likely play Jason Spezza more than he'd been playing under Babcock. The defence pairs have been switched around and although the jury is still out if it'll work out at least he's trying different things. One thing about Babcock is that he's an extremely stubborn coach (which is not uncommon with the older 'old school' coaches) and kept using the same lineups and same strategies.

Dubas needs to find him a quality experienced backup goalie, though.

Oilers continue their game winning, 4-3 in a SO against Arizona. The duo racked up more points.

Been listening to Mtl talk radio shows this morning and they're panicking! Julien may get fired, Price sucks and didn't make a single big save on Saturday, Julien should have blamed the likes of Price & Weber (and others) instead of Kotkaniemi and shows he has no balls for not doing so, Julien says the team misses Byron & Drouin (when Byron had 1 goal in 19 games and Drouin started the season on the third line), the team will get destroyed by Boston tomorrow, Kayden Primeau would have won the game Saturday night, etc. UNREAL!!!!!!!

PETERS---FLAMES COACH--suspended---under investigation due to the allegations of racial slurs when coaching AHL affiliate Chicago Blackhawks team....it's former player Akim Aliu, Nigerian -born player who revealed in a series of twitts those allegations....NHL called it...repugnant and unaccepable..

IHHO he will never coach again in NHL......plus his team was struggling a lot this year.

Will we have the ME TOO movement in the NHL?????

As much as I think Metoo was a necessity I do admit I hate the drawbacks... Why everyone always go to the extreme... I hate revision of history!!! I will soon be on a search warrant by the cops because I drove a few time to parties with a beer between my legs in 1990!!

Back to hockey... 3 - 1 Bruins... Shit....
