Has anyone heard about any police bust or successful sting operation in connection with the GP stepped up LE enforcement efforts against sex work and sexual exploitation of minors? Shyman , I recently had a rather disagreeable incident with police in Longueuil. I came 10 minutes early to a popular spot in the south shore which has a rather spacious parking lot. I had been parked for 5 minutes and I noticed a police car coming straight towards me. This was rather intimidating however I had no reason to fear the police. I guess it’s instinctive. The asked for my papers to check who I was and asked what I was doing there. I had the good sense not to lie and just stated that I had a rendezvous without detailing what kind. The policeman wished me good luck with my rdv, so he knew exactly why I was there.
I found it weird that they were checking out this place, because as far as I know there are no pimps or underaged girls.

Ahead of Grand Prix weekend, the group said police visited strip clubs and massage parlours around the city taking note of all the women who work there.

I was witness to these raids. Wednesday they raided SexeMania. About 20 officers entered and set up shop with their laptops and starting checking up all the girls. I saw this type of raid at Vegas about a month ago. This is prohibition at its finest. Enforcing morality is so important vs busting on the real criminals. Wow. It seems the LE (and the politicians -- which include police chiefs) are more serious in their recent "enforcements". Sounds like what the LE's in various US cities have been deploying in their efforts to reduce gang violence and illicit activities. It's very unfortunate for the ladies who are caught in the cross-hair; they need to work in MP's (or as escorts) to pay bills, buy essentials like food and clothes for themselves and children, etc. (Not all MP offer "happy endings"; but police raids affect everyone, especially the SP's livelihood.)

But foreigners have no easy way to bring guns over the border, or to buy them in the U.S. And no place in the world has more deranged mass shooters than the U.S., and we apparently have no such database of deranged U.S. citizens.

I beg to differ sir, we have a very complete database of petty criminals, child molesters, rapists, robbers, crooks, liars, thieves and murderers. Probably, but I’m sure there was a mistake on her end. Also, in a way I’m glad customs stopped her. If not for what she does for a living, then for taking jobs away from American escorts. I witnessed one of these raids during Grand Prix week. I was at Chez Parée at the beginning of the weekend (it was either Thursday or Friday night) and a huge number of police came in the club in groups of 4-6. Though I couldn't count them, the total number seemed to be at least 20 and as many as 30 (as the article reports). Several had laptop computers, so it's clear that they were collecting data on the girls.

The girls seemed to take it well, though I can see how it would be traumatizing and humiliating. I think it was a gross violation of the civil rights of the girls. The operation made a mockery of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, especially this section:
