The communication says that you asked for sex services even if you didn't get the appointment, they yeah you are cooked
This woman enslaved another woman and pimped her for months. No jail time.

This one (today’s news) worked for an agency as a driver for months and pimped a 16 year old (she was in 11th grade and would do 5-6 clients a night).

Not guilty verdict (the female judge is known for being a bit… insane). The dpcp is appealing because what he admitted to was enough to be found guilty.

Hard to imagine they would press charges for ambiguous texts. They could do some bench plea for John school.

They could do a sting for clients though. A bunch of people caught in the act in the same operation is cost effective.

I am not saying you would be proven guilty. But if they want to give clients a hard time then a traceable text with clear intention is enough. And this can easily destroy people's careers, personal relationships and also financial ordeal.

In Massachusetts brothel trials, the clients or "sex buyers" wanted to remain anonymous but media houses and social workers protested and their names were released in multiple stages with hearings streamed live.

Yep as per Bill C-36. All they need are the texts. Even asking for a booking makes you guilty of solicitation for sexual services. Whether they will go after the clients or not is another story. But they can if they want to. The law is very broad and it was designed in this way on purpose.
No it doesn’t.
There is no law in asking for an escort for companionship, it is perfectly legal.
They cannot prove you didn’t want a guided tour of Montreal or just a companion for dinner or whatever.
As long as your text doesn’t contain reference to any kind of sexual activity GFE etc… they have nothing.

I suspect it is the reason, this thread is 46 pages long now. People secretly looking if they're in trouble or not. I don't think we are.
I think you are right that the audience on MERB is waiting for the other shoe to drop and a new story on a client being charged as a result of this investigation. I have had a few PMs from board members asking me about this as well. Like you I don't think anyone is in trouble, except the 5 people already charged.

But this fear is driving this thread and makes me once again have to call on Franklin to remind you of this:

100% correct. In fact sexless dates are often booked. The prosecution has to prove you booked the date for sex. If you just booked a date, they have shit.

Why does LE want clients to stop seeing escorts? Like, why now, unless I missed an announcement? And that would mean Independents would be at risk nearly as much as agencies, as LE could watch clients entering even a residence.

I think we’ve all jumped the shark here. Back to regularly scheduled programming. Be safe. Have fun. There’s not a sex cop around every corner waiting with cuffs.
I meant that all I read are clients panicking, I am not! And make clients reflect and end the demand is the goal of our Canadian law. It might not last, but clearly taking down that agency touched a nerve.

Starting points:
  • Criminal Code section 286.1
  • What constitutes sufficient evidence to lay a criminal charge
  • "Innocent until proven guilty"
  • Which standards must be met to secure a criminal conviction
  • Reasonable doubt

Is it like the stock market?

When there is a crash and people panicking, there are others steady bunch who benefits from it?

I don’t see any benefit in booking with an agency other than price.
I will pay the extra for an Indy I know and trust.

Screenshot_20260323_215015_Google.jpg This is what I found. But you might be right. They have to prove that you sent a text to buy sexual services so if there is nothing explicit then they got no case. Then again I am not a lawyer. Perhaps @EagerBeaver can shed some light in this even from a US perspective.

Does anyone else think that lowkey the crackdown on this stuff is to reduce quantity and increase the price of sex workers here in Canada so more horny young 18-25 yr olds sign up for the military?

Money and sex are probably effective carrots to dangle in front of young, horny, underemployed, underpaid, and undersexed young men to induce them into joining the military.
Damn I actually remember Ukraine ads for the military.
Also China's history of sex-selective abortion practice favouring males...maybe to build a military?
These days everything is open for revisionism
Below is a sample of fun videos highlighting this theory of user psykick456:

I knew about this from what people have told me. A few girls approached me to ask for help on how to quit agency work or asked for advice when going indy because they saw my comments here. I don't think it's the case for all agencies and I don't want to be accused of making clients feel bad for going to them...

In the case of xo, from what I've heard, the owner drugged many girls, threatened to out them etc. This isn't in the article but I believe people who told me because there are other men in the industry who have had this behavior towards employees. It's definitely not everyone and everywhere tho.
I heard the same thing… never worked for one but he would try to hangout with the new girls and drug them and had sex with them or he would get girls to agree to have a paid sex relation and never pay them. Also guys, every parlour and every agency in any cities in Canada has a late fee, missed appointment fee etc… I heard girls quitting because they missed a shift and it 300-500$ or girls having UTIs and having to come in and show they pee blood to not get the fee, couldn’t get a doctors note.. that’s all the things ive been hearing. Gooooo Indy
