Just a couple of hockey points

1) Toronto fans deserve better hockey managers... they should clean house and dump their management team... but it is still the most difficult ticket to get in pro sports.

2) Have you noticed all the empty seats in Hockeytown... for a franchise that is as successful as they have been in the past decade they've alienated their fans with their soaring price$$

3) Do any of you other hockey fans find the "shootout win" being equal to a win in regulation to be idiotic? I've hated the shootout from the day it was implemented... but making it equal to a win in regulation makes it even worse.

That has nothing to do with the quality of the team itself which we all know is seriously lacking and has been for a very long time.

I don't get it with you people saying Toronto's had a bad team FOR A VERY LONG TIME. This is totally false. The 60's & 70's were quite successful, and admittedly, they were totally awful in the 80's. So was Mtl until Patrick Roy came along to save the ship. The Leafs once again were one of the top teams/organizations once the 90's came about (sad to say, after the death of Harold Ballard) when Cliff Fletcher was hired as GM & he brought along Pat Burns, Doug Gilmour, Dave Andreychuk, Mike Gartner & co. They've been a very competitive since other than BARELY missing the playoffs over the past couple of seasons (just like the Habs).

Let's just say that the Bruins are very fast learners. :D

Seriously, they've surprised me this year. Claude Julien has them playing very good hockey & it's showing in the standings.

True - and it's also worth pointing out that the Habs are 2-0 against Boston, outscoring the Bruins 8-2 :D

Some teams always seem to have another team's number. Almost like the Leafs having the Habs' number,

Speaking of numbers - when I think about the Toronto Maple Laffs, the number zero comes to mind ... :D

Post expansion Stanley Cups:

Montreal 12
Toronto 0

Post expansion Stanley Cup Final appearances:

Montreal 13
Toronto 0

Anyone check the standings? Oh yeah, Maple Losers in 9 th place :D

Hey, don't be so critical! For the hopeless Leafs, 9th place is like winning the Stanley Cup! Considering their extreme lack of talent, they're doing great.

Not only that, but they have a potential Hollywood star on their "team" Rumor has it that Jiri Tlusty has been offered a starring role in The Full Monty Part 2.

We live in that awe inspiring era of parity... no team dominates for very long as they can't afford to pay their players to keep them.

Jiri Tlusty's misdeed as compared to some former Habs

At least he's not screwing minors, like a few former Habs did back in the late 80's/early 90's. Good thing for them the team didn't mind spending money to bribe the girls' parents.

Sadly, I won't be in TO tomorrow to see the parade.

Cheer up Vlad. Since this is the biggest thing the Laffs have done in 40 years, the parade will undoubtedly be shown ad infinitum on TSN. Apparently an x-rated version starring Jiri Tlusty will also appear on cable.

It was just a matter of time until that Leafs' pride took over & brought success to this great franchise!

Watched the game on the HNIC replay after the Calgary/Edmonton game - I wouldn't plan the parade route yet - Ottawa took the night off and clearly didn't play their "A" game (or their "B" game for that matter).

The Leafs usually flutter the hearts of their amazing faithful for the first few weeks of the season and then live up to their moto: "The Leafs fall when the leaves fall." This season they have gotten to an early start.

I don't mean to demean their attaining a one-game winning streak and actually beating a decent team in that heroic achievement, but I believe I have an explanation.

We all have good and bad days, but more of the latter as we age. Perhaps last game occurred on a blessed day when all of their many old players didn't have arthritis and osteoporosis flare-ups and also McCabe was able to remember which goal was which.

Tonight, the Leafs beat one of the NHL's best teams by a score of 3-0. A great win for the Leafs, who finally played like they're supposed to!! It was just a matter of time until that Leafs' pride took over & brought success to this great franchise!

Way to go, Leafs!!! :D :D

So Doc, what happened to the "pride" of "this great franchise" in Tuesday's game against the Bruins? Jesus, I even know some observers who have described this type of loss as choking. (Do you have a mirror nearby?) Not me, though - I just call it the Leafs playing down to their potential.

An impressive 4-1 win for the Habs last night over a good Islanders team as Huet stops 44 of 45 shots. Meanwhile, its back to reality for the Toronto Maple Laffs as they blow a 2-0 lead to Boston in another loss :D 8 wins in 22 games, only Washington has fewer

The Leafs ran into a bit of bad luck, that's all. They're still learning to play together as a group & getting over their rash of injuries. The season is still in its infancy & there's a lot of hockey to be played yet! I'm a bit down on the Leafs, but i know for a fact it's only a matter of time that they start racking up the wins & surpass the Habs in the standings.

Typical loser's lament: bad luck. I will grant you however that Sundin and Maurice have bad luck to be affiliated with such a sad sack franchise. Those two deserve better. As for the rest of the Leafs, well, they deserve to be Leafs (translation: losers!).

It's not just 40 years Doc, it's 40 years and counting (and counting...and counting...and counting). If my dog was like the Leafs, I'd have the vet put the poor creature out of his misery.

I'm embarassed that it took me so long to realize. Doc Holliday is putting us all on.

There is only one Joe.T, a fan of a team of overpriced under-performers and he is a baseball fan.

Bad luck? lmao
