My legendary picks for week 2.

...

My sure shot pick of the week(dedicated to anon_vlad, if you saw his picks last year you will know why) is also my sure shot pick of the century which is Buffalo +2 over that dirty, rotten, cheating team from Massachusetts with that horrible defense, Deangelo Williams a second string cast off running back ran for over 130 yds against them, I can only imagine what LeShady McCoy and Tyrod Taylor will do to them, this game will not even be close, I will be putting a significant amount on this game, it will be the easiest money that I have ever made.:thumb:

Hehehe...

Joe, keep those picks comin'!!! :p (Or was there another last-minute push this week? :p)

I have a feeling this will be similar to '07 after Spygate. Not as dominant, more like just enough, but lots of wins nonetheless. Look out for the Pats and Mr. Tommy on their Fuck-you-NFL tour, coming soon to a city near you! :thumb:

Sincerely,
W

Yup, I'd call 4 out of 5 a pretty awesome week.:thumb:

Having said that what an awful performance from the Bills and Tyrod Taylor, I'm calling for his benching, I know it is only two weeks in but he was downright awful, 3 picks and 8 sacks, they guy hangs on to the ball way, way, way too long, the Bills need to give Manuel one last shot to see if he is the real deal, especially after the pretty good pre season that he had and yes this loss is on you Rex, now do something about it before the season is totally lost.

Awful, yes. But the Bills only wound up losing by a touchdown and a two-point convert. Taylor played okay in my opinion. Some of the picks were on deflections and one of them was a very catchable ball. He did hold on to the ball a bit long, but that's because the Pats had great coverage. I give the Pats credit for having a very good offense for the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Amendola made a sensational catch late in the 4th quarter to keep the Pats' drive going. Gronk and Edelman also had nice catches. The Pats offensive line played great also.

The Bills simply ran out of time. But way too many penalties....you rarely win when you have that many penalties.

I doubt we'll see EJ Manuel this season unless Taylor or Cassel suffer injuries. Cassel is listed as the back-up. Manuel wasn't even in uniform yesterday.

Go Colts. Offense vs Defense. Each team has the opposite strength. I think Luck will be decisive.

Lol...

Believe me I was rooting for the Colts. I root for all teams playing against the Jets! Luck just looks off. A bad O-line can do that. Two ugly prime time games in a row! I fell asleep again. No mas.

Bills trade QB Matt Cassel to Cowboys

IRVING, Texas - A person with knowledge of the deal says the Cowboys have acquired quarterback Matt Cassel from Buffalo with Tony Romo sidelined at least seven games because of a broken left collarbone.

Other terms of the trade Tuesday weren't immediately available. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal hadn't been announced.

Brandon Weeden is expected to start Sunday at home against Arizona, but Cassel is a veteran with far more experience than the fourth-year pro. Before the trade, owner Jerry Jones said on his radio show that Weeden was his starter.

Cassell has 71 starts in 90 games over 11 seasons, not counting the opener this year when he took the first snap for the Bills with Tyrod Taylor lined up at receiver.

I'd forgotten about the Jets offensive pickups.

I'm angry with Grigson the Colts GM. Where are the improvements over last year? They need better offensive weapons, receivers and running backs, they also need to beef up on defense. If our GM had worked as hard on finding better quality players where we have key holes in the off season as he did chasing some air in footballs we'd be doing fine. Luck has not looked good either. Almost twice as many INTs as TDs.

Good thing for me I also enjoy watching other teams. Steelers, Broncos, Packers, Cowboys. Dare I say it, the Patriots too.

This weeks picks as I was absolutely ON FIRE last week(4 for 5), my friends actually call me Joe the Greek because of all of the money that I have made them.:thumb:

My up and coming Oakland Raiders with their red hot QB(Carr) +4 over Cleveland.

Cincinnati +2.5 over Baltimore.

Tampa +6.5 over Houston.

ST.Louis +2.5 over Pittsburgh.

Detroit +3.5 over Denver.

My sure shot pick is Jacksonville with their very improved defence +14.5 over the very overrated, boring, dishonest, lying, cheating organisation from that rotten state.:thumb:

As much as I'd love to see Detroit beat Denver, I am highly dubious... And the Rams over the Steelers???

And seriously??? Blake Bortles and Jacksonville over Tommy and the Pats?  OK, now you're just acting like a Leafs fan in pre-season euphoria - delusional. ;) :p Hehehe...

(Kidding and all in good fun, Joe.)

The Denver game is a toss up but I highly, highly, highly, very highly suggest that you change your New England -14.5 pick, no way in hell that they cover, not even anon_vlad would make such a foolish pick and god knows that he has made a bunch of them.

Lolllll. Sorry, I was not paying attention at all to the spread. I was just talking about your pick of the Jags winning. If the pick is the Jags beating the spread... Not my game. :D

My Colts will win by at least 9 points. They are overdue and either they will here or they don't have much hope for the season. After two poor games Luck will show he is the up and coming star everyone thought he was.

Andrew Luck is the only good thing about that franchise. There ain't much else other than a couple of WR. I don't think much of their defence. You can't win in this league without a good defence.

I agree. In a previous post I mentioned a need to find higher quality players and a number of areas to improve. Since the departure of Peyton, Reggie Wayne, Dwight Freeney, Joe Adai, Marvin Harrison and many others there's been a big slide in quality. Their run defense is particularly poor. That's why I'm so upset with Grigson. There was plenty of opportunity to replace players if he knew what he was doing. That's why I don't care about this deflate gate stuff at all. It seems like he wasn't focused on the team like he should have been and chasing footballs didn't help at all. But they should beat the Titans.

Luck is not up and coming. He is already here as a bona-fide star. The arm, the athleticism, the leadership. It's a team game, one player can't do it by himself. All players hit rough patches. Luck is a legit NFL QB star.

Your point about Grigson is slightly mis-directed, at least for those players. Cutting Wayne was the logical move. He couldn't stick on the Patriots roster either, and he hasn't been picked up anywhere else (has he?). All those other players were over-priced or had lost a step. The NFL today is all about cap management and identifying good cheap players through the draft. You bring them into the program for 3-5 years. The real stars / glue players you sign to big contracts and make them franchise cornerstones. The others you let go, after they serve as plug-and-play components to fill out the system. Interchangeable, replaceable parts. (Not so unlike SP rosters...) Grigson, like every other 'bad' NFL GM, has done a poor job of talent identification. And perhaps some bad luck, too... :p We'll see if he can turn it around. Unfortunate that Pagano will be the victim of this bad start.

Also, the problem isn't the lack of skill players for Luck. He has good ones. It's the bad O-line. Always because of the O-line when offenses struggle. Start knocking down and abusing any QB, he will start looking bad. Stafford was a stud a few years ago, and this year he looks like shit. Manning looks vulnerable. Meanwhile, Brady's jersey has been spotless, and his stats reflect that.

(BTW, maybe this is karma for a whistleblower sore-loser franchise... On second thought, I hope Grigson and that alcoholic owner burn. ;))

I had a new football stragety for Pro Line, had plans to make a tidy profit... My stragety is crumbling around me this morning.
