True. And it can also be said that prisoners have died during 'interrogation' by the US authorities at Gitmo. What i'm getting at is that we've come to a point where a case could be made that we're no better than people we consider 'the ennemy' when it comes to respecting human rights.

That's a silly argument. If they did not Waterboard Shiek Kahlid Mohammed, Bin Laden may still be alive and safe in hiding. He was at that location for 6 years. Being better than enemy gets you no where if the enemy kills you, as they plan to do. What you said is a leftist political talking point that makes no sense in the real world when you have an enemy that would die in order to make sure that you die.

I think the terror alert in NYC tomorrow is going to be high. I personally do not believe it is a good idea for Obama to go to NYC to meet with the 9/11 families/survivors so soon after the Bin Laden assassination. Security will be high, but there is a chance that there are some Lone Wolf type terrorists out there who will attempt to spoil the event. I am wondering whether Bush declined an invitation to the event because, in reality, the Secret Service was going to be overextended guarding both him and Obama. It's possible this was discussed and decided even before the invitation went out.

I realize we cannot live in fear and the President has to be an example of that, but I don't like the timing of this event and I am not sure if it is necessary at this time. The whole world knows where Obama is going to be tomorrow and has had notice for 3 days.

OJ is & was innocent! He was framed by racist cops like Fuhrman, Philips, Vannater, Lang, etc. He was framed!

He's now serving time on a bogus armed robbery charge. Free the Juice! Free the Juice now!

Ah the race card, very good. Clearly you didn't follow the trial Doc. He had a history of beating Nicole up which was well documented on 911 tapes and photographs. Guess it was just a random double murder with nothing missing from the house. Happens all the time in those wealthy neighborhoods.

EagerBeaver;540867]I don't believe there were ever photos of Hitler's dead body, but there were of Mussolini's. I think the main reason for this is that Hitler's death was by suicide and very carefully and meticuously planned with the Russians closing in. Hitler knew his fate, and his body's fate, was going to be very bad once the Russians got their hands on him, and the planned suicide was a much better option for him.

There are photos of a dead Hitler put out by both the U.S. and Russia, but they are still debated today by skeptics. At least there was no Photoshop in 1945 Beav.

I've followed the trial throughout & read every single book on the case. But my question to you is: "Since when has spousal abuse become murder?" Two different things altogether. Plus, Mr. Simpson (Yes, MISTER Simpson) was never charged or ever accused of spousal abuse as far as i know. Don't believe everything you've heard or read, especially from the likes of Fay Resnick & Denise Brown. OJ Simpson was found innocent by a jury of his peers & its a sham that he's currently locked up in prison! A total sham i say!

It's not enough that the poor guy has to suffer enough from his ex-wife's unsolved bloody murder. As soon as they have an opportunity to put him behind bars, they lock him up on a b.s. charge. Had his ex-wife been an african-amercan woman, he would be a free man today & likely back on tv (where he belongs) doing commentary for NFL football. It's a calamity of the justice system! Free OJ now!!

The pictures were taken by Pakistani intelligence an hour or so after the Americans had left the scene:

Note: pictures very graphic & gory

Pictures taken from OBL raid

Thanks for the photos Doc ... that's gotta hurt like a bitch. :)

Pakistani intelligence, Isn't that an oxymoron?

I know which photos you're referring to. It's a burnt, charred body, correct? It's never been proven that it was indeed Hitler. Some evidence!

Have any of you guys wondered how those helicopters eluded Pakistani radar and why the Americans blew up the one helicopter that was disabled in the operation? It's because they are the top secret Black Hawk Stealth Helicopters. They blew up the disabled one so that the Pakistanis could not get a peek at the technology.

"Since when has spousal abuse become murder?" Answer: Many times, and you know that as well as I.
Mr. Simpson (Yes, MISTER Simpson) was never charged or ever accused of spousal abuse as far as i know. Answer: He was a major celebrity and had friends on the police department.
OJ Simpson was found innocent by a jury of his peers. Answer: Actually he was found Not Guilty, there is a big difference.

What were the findings in the Civil trial Doc?

Never wondered about the copters at all, I thought it was pretty obvious what they were. Those were great pics, Doc. Nice precision shooting.

OJ should be released so that he can continue his hunt for the real killers on the golf courses on America.

Techman, remember the police chase with him in the Bronco? Didn't you think when he had the gun to his head that he was going to blow his brains out on TV? That was just after he left the suicide note that read; don't feel sorry for me, I've had a great life.

OJ would never have committed suicide, especially by shooting himself in the head. He's too narcissistic.

I think the SEALs should use him as a training dummy before their next mission. Anyone wanna bet that they could make the glove fit?

Hello all,

That's some religion that would support and be upset about a mass murderer like Bin Laden ... think about it!

It's not the religion. It's the politics the West has supported and the feeling of exploitation and helplessness average Arabs and Muslims have toward the West that generated such widespread sympathy for Bin Laden. Concepts within the religion were then exploited and manipulated by Muslim extremists (Jihad) which has been done many times since the Crusades to motivate Muslims.

EagerBeaver;540867]There are photos of a dead Hitler put out by both the U.S. and Russia, but they are still debated today by skeptics. At least there was no Photoshop in 1945 Beav.

Having been a student of this period in minute detail for many years, read many first hand witness accounts, and seen every video and photo available, I can categorically say there are no photos or videos of a recognizable dead Hitler. He and Eva Braun committed suicide on April 30 1945 after a quick marriage ceremony, then their bodies were quickly taken outside of the Fuhrerbunker to a pre-prepared pit by the SS with the Russians fighting only a few hundred yards away, and hastily burned beyond any possible recognition. This was personally ordered by Hitler after he heard of Mussolini's execution and public display along with his mistress and others the day before. Photos of Mussolini dead are very easy to find.

There were photos of a dead double for Hitler found who was actually his valet and driver, and a famous photo of him supposedly laying dead in an arm chair was proven to have been taken of him sleeping years earlier.

After the fall of the Soviet Union some evidence of Hitler's death was produced, with a photo of charcoal like remains (hardly human looking), as well as a section of a badly charred skull cap with a bullet hole, and a section of jaw bone.

Okay, I didn't cover this before because there was and is no point. There was no reason to placate Germans over Hitler, there are many reasons of self-interest to the West to be sensitive to Muslim feelings about Bin Laden's death.

OJ is & was innocent! He was framed by racist cops like Fuhrman, Philips, Vannater, Lang, etc. He was framed!

YOU CAN'T POSSIBLY BE SERIOUS! Just because there were actions taken by bad or racist cops that tainted the investigation, does not mean he wasn't guilty in the first place. Don't forget the defense did everything they could to play the race card to a mostly black jury and the black public who then had reason to fear retribution if they (the jury) went home after a conviction. Besides all that, the prosecution made major mistakes such as allowing themselves to be maneuvered into the infamous glove test while wearing plastic sterile gloves underneath.

Hey all...what has this to do with Bin Laden?

Cheers,

Merlot

Kudos to SEAL Team 6 on their impressive accomplishment and to all of the other service personnel in the coalition whose cumulative sacrifices over the years finally led us to public enemy #1. These guys are just as impressive to me as the firefighters and police officers who ran into the Twin Towers in an effort to save lives. America might not be what it once was, but at least we still have our heros.

It's been confirmed by several governmental officials that Khalid Sheik Mohammad was the source who provided the most information that enabled them to ultimately find Bin Laden. Sheik Mohammad was waterboarded an unofficial record 183 times, so we can assume that the waterboarding loosened up his lips.
Assume makes an ass out of u and me.

“It is true that some information that came from normal interrogation approaches at Guantanamo did lead to information that was beneficial in this instance. But it was not harsh treatment and it was not waterboarding.” Donald Rumsfeld, noted war criminal as well as Secretary of Defense under George W. Bush.

When did Rumsfeld say this and what instance is he referring to in this statement. Do you have the source of this statement?

New York Times said:
But a closer look at prisoner interrogations suggests that the harsh techniques played a small role at most in identifying Bin Laden’s trusted courier and exposing his hide-out. One detainee who apparently was subjected to some tough treatment provided a crucial description of the courier, according to current and former officials briefed on the interrogations. But two prisoners who underwent some of the harshest treatment — including Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, who was waterboarded 183 times — repeatedly misled their interrogators about the courier’s identity.

The discussion of what led to Bin Laden’s demise has revived a national debate about torture that raged during the Bush years. The former president and many conservatives argued for years that force was necessary to persuade Qaeda operatives to talk. Human rights advocates, and Mr. Obama as he campaigned for office, said the tactics were torture, betraying American principles for little or nothing of value.

Glenn L. Carle, a retired C.I.A. officer who oversaw the interrogation of a high-level detainee in 2002, said in a phone interview Tuesday, that coercive techniques “didn’t provide useful, meaningful, trustworthy information.” He said that while some of his colleagues defended the measures, “everyone was deeply concerned and most felt it was un-American and did not work.”

Obama administration officials, intent on celebrating Monday’s successful raid, have tried to avoid reigniting a partisan battle over torture.

“The bottom line is this: If we had some kind of smoking-gun intelligence from waterboarding in 2003, we would have taken out Osama bin Laden in 2003,” said Tommy Vietor, spokesman for the National Security Council. “It took years of collection and analysis from many different sources to develop the case that enabled us to identify this compound, and reach a judgment that Bin Laden was likely to be living there.”

In 2004, however, a Qaeda operative named Hassan Ghul, captured in Iraq, gave a different account of Mr. Kuwaiti, according to the American official. Mr. Ghul told interrogators that Mr. Kuwaiti was a trusted courier who was close to Bin Laden, as well as to Mr. Mohammed and to Abu Faraj al-Libi, who had become the operational chief of Al Qaeda after Mr. Mohammed’s capture.

Mr. Kuwaiti, Mr. Ghul added, had not been seen in some time — which analysts thought was a possible indication that the courier was hiding out with Bin Laden.

The details of Mr. Ghul’s treatment are unclear, though the C.I.A. says he was not waterboarded. The C.I.A. asked the Justice Department to authorize other harsh methods for use on him, but it is unclear which were used. One official recalled that Mr. Ghul was “quite cooperative,” saying that rough treatment, if any, would have been brief.
And so it seems that waterboarding had nothing to do with the demise of Osama Bin Laden and, in fact, as Doc Holliday pointed out only served to feed bad information.
