EB, you might be drawing a long arc from Minassian and Elliot Rodger to the university males who support Jordan Peterson. If Minassian and Rodger were incidentally fans of Peterson that would probably be happenstance more than anything. First, Jordan Peterson offers a lot of tough love advice for young males. Actually nothing that parents haven't been telling unmotivated, underachieving young males for decades.
Peterson evokes the wrath of far left liberals due to his staunch opposition to political correctness and gender neutrality. Peterson strongly emphasizes the differences between the sexes. He also makes a very interesting point that in trying to suppress masculine behavior in boys it is possible their bodies could be producing less testosterone. There has been a significant drop in testosterone in American males (fact) in recent decades. There are studies that are trying to see if there are health, diet and environmental reasons for the drop. Nothing definitive has yet been identified in this area. Having said that, it is well-known behavioral aspects can affect hormone development (fact).
To paraphrase Jordan Peterson, no matter what some women might say they want to be with strong, confident and competent men. His choice of the word "competent" is an excellent example of how he succinctly makes his point. He basically challenges women with this statement. What heterosexual women doesn't want a competent male partner?
